The Owlbear's Picnic

If you go out in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the owl bears have their picnic.
 

What's this, someone left a wagon in the middle of the road.  The horse appears to have run away. 

 

Something smells good.

Great work and the setting and story nail it! I'm sure one of them is smarter than the average owlbear and will abscond with that pic-a-nic crate!

Nice cohesive look to the family of owlbears. One of these things is not like the others.... but it seems like a perfect match stylistically with the smaller bones owlbear. Who makes that critter? Seems like too good an opportunity to pass up....

The smallest, leftmost owlbear is a 3d print (like the wagon) that my husband found on Thingiverse.  The other two are Reaper Bones.  I believe the model in the middle was from Bones 4, I could not find a number for it yet.

Your Owl Bears live up to their full potential; i.e., they are DELIGHTFULLY silly, & SPLENDIDLY painted critters. I LOVE the background foliage. VERY WELL DONE!

I can remember being a little boy & listening to The Teddy Bears' Picnic on the radio. It was a favorite then & a happy memory now.

I have not heard it on the air in a VERY long time, but I do remember the lyrics and they kept coming to me as I was painting that trio. 

 

Every owl bear, that's been good
