My squidy, fishy, thingy baby is confirmed!!!!  :bday::bday::bday::bday::bday::bday::bday::bday:

You guys should have seen how hard it was to explain to my parents what this was and why anyone would want it.

YAY!!!! I still don't think my parents understand what I do. Oh well, people somewhere appreciate it haha So excited for your fish monster! Excellent first digital piece, honestly super impressed with how quickly you have adapted.

it didnt even occur to me that the wing membranes dont go as far down the side on these designs :( :(  sigh.   Still like them so will get them though.

I want more dragons by Pedro Fernandez (done IMHO the best dragon sculpt ever - the fine detail is insane, espec for a dragon of that size) - CMON's 10th anniversary Cang, and the Forgeworld Chaos Dragon, and Great Fire dragons (by the best monster sculptor IMHO, Daniel Cockersell - who left forgeworld to work on films at Weta).

I'd love wizards to release this as a resin or plastic set, but its only a prepainted limited sideshow model :(

Dnd-Klauth-the-Red-Dragon-Statue-001.jpg

Contemplating if its worth getting and trying to cut their polystone material to remove the city base , resculpt it a bit and repaint... but $700 ...limited to 300 .  too much money wasted since the base, and paint are part of that cost.  :(

it is nice, especially since that is klauth to scale (on that mountain city).  the statue is 2 ft tall for an idea.

Regarding the ups and down of the campaign - better communication would be nice.  I still wish they would show upcoming pieces on the map and some images.  Just cause something has worked, doesnt mean it can be done better or differently with the same or better results.

If we could see where the other dragons were on the maps, where the next expansions are and maybe a preview of 1 of the upcoming epic pieces , would that drive more spend? i'd imagine it would.  right now, just dont find the stuff compelling enough. that said, i bid $200 (and $150 for a friend - 350 for a friend).  we're both still well under that although he's contemplating a core set so i imagine he will ask me to raise his portion to $250 or so :P  so $450 total.

at least us forum ppl know what some of the upcoming pieces are, so we can wait for them.  I just dont remember, here or on the kickstarter forum, facebook, etc as many ppl saying they felt ho-hum about the models in bones 4.    hence i think showing whats coming may alleviate some of those feelings.

regards,

Sanjay

I am super excited that each of the evil dragon colors will be covered.  Would like to see the mid version(adult?*) of each of those dragons as well.  All of the dragons are looking amazing to me, now to wait until they are official .  I think I will do my normal KS thing and jump back in at the last 48, I would agree that there just isn't the same level of excitement/obsession I have had for past Bones KSs.  Perhaps I will see you in the show off thread ::D:, lord knows I still have plenty of minis to paint.

To be fair I dont think they will be doing the 7 hour stuff again...this one was only like 30 min.

They did say on the twitch stream that they are in the process of getting a dedicated Social Media person.

IIrc at some point in the past, Bones 4 maybe, the reason that was given for why Reaper does not do this is to prevent a situation where someone pledges for a goal that is never reached and then wants a refund.  Which I imagine would result in a large change to how much the kickstarter raised if this happens to even 5-10% of the pledgers. So they keep it to goals they are reasonably certain can be reached at any given time.

dont other kickstarters do that though? show several steps ahead? how do they manage that?

and even if its not all over the place, but maybe within the next 10 goals.  remember the last 2 days. the numbers spike as people want to reach the big epic stuff.  So its not just the time but a combination of last minute adjustemnts to what people want AND people wanting the special stuff.

Whose to say that can be done during a campaign.  Epic stuff midway and at the end, etc.

will wait and see i guess.  BTW< did anyone see reaper live last night? did they preview anything?

Some other kickstarters just say elf it and unlock it anyway, if the ks closes and the goal was close. Also, not every miniature kickstarter is as well calculated as it should be, and refunding people for money spent on locked stretch goals might not have entered their minds. They might refuse to do so or try to absorb the losses.

Most miniature kickstarters are also way, way smaller (looking through my backer list, most are under 1k backers) so refunding fewer people and finding individual solutions might be easier to do for those creators.

Edit: I'd also like to add, that quite a few of those smaller miniature or hobby kickstarters are run directly be the artist or a small team surrounding them. Artists just starting out are  often conditioned to work for free or very little to build their portfolio. So people might just end up not paying themselves well enough for their time.

Reaper can't just say "well, we miscalculated, sorry, the joy your creation sparked must be reward enough this time! But you can show this artwork to potential other customers." and that's a good thing.

Okay hold @buglips*the*goblin still while we load him...

Load me or load me into it?  Because if you've got a nice, greasy, cheesy, bean-packed burrito and a lighter I can unleash such intense hellfire upon your enemies their great-great-grandchildren will be born without eyebrows.

I am trying to put this reasonably, but am a bit torqued right now. It feels like Reaper is saying "Either get Twitter, beg for us to give you alittle something and you get the priveledge of paying for it."  Being coerced into having to put another program on my computer is no one's business but mine. I truly hope this ISN'T the real attitude, but it sure is coming across this way.

You don't need any program, it's just going to a website.

      Story
It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square.
WANTED:  LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery.  REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member.
Speculation and rumour was rife!  Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam?  Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women!
Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit.
But still the robberies and raids continued...
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume Two
A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games.
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One
You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge.  Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'.  You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals!

It's only an 11 day  project, so hury up and back.

Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal.  So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market.  We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin.  These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE!  Just mail it back to us.   Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures.  We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
