I have. I'm loving the hell out of his takes on the local mythos. Wish a few more companies would do those; they're fascinating.

It would be fantastic to have a big company like Reaper do some stuff like Paymaster Games is doing in his Going Native KSs.  While I have nothing against fantasy games that stick to European mythology it would be great to have miniatures of the heroes and monsters from the heroic tales of more cultures.  And now with D&D so much more in the main stream the art used to create minis that depicts those heroes and monsters could come from modern artists from those cultures.  If I were a kid who was from a culture that was traditionally marginalized I might find it pretty awesome to play a D&D character based on my cultures heroes and not just lord of the rings wantabes or dubbed anime characters.

Good morning, Enthusiasts, from the US East Coast!   I see the Reaper Kickstarter never sleeps!  Nothing better than waking up to a new unlock.  And three cheers to Reaper for all the updates, both email and Kickstarter page.

I wonder if today will see the slow down, or if we’ll speed through the next goal by later today?

I think a slowdown.

Regarding that undead Kickstarter.  I did see that. I recall now. Was gonna pledge but then with combo of bones coming up and me trying to acquire that rare garage kit/model, decided against it.

The tony McVey kit and bones 5 were priorities.

I'm not in for the core, but I hope they'll sell parts of the core like the did during the last KS as extras. I'd get 2 or 3 of the armory and spell effects and a set of the kid heroes, but I don't want anything from the main core except maybe the stag and the krampus.

Theres also the off chance the Greek Set is actually a Greek/Atlantis Set....

I have been wondering about that as well. I want that Bronze/Golem/Talos thing they previewed at Rcon.

I prefer Satyrs. At least I have always spelled it that way.

i don't mind centaurs, but i really really dislike satrys myself

I liked the look of that centaur. According to C.S. Lewis, the non-horse portion of the centaur should be of a size and bulk rather like a small giant. In other words: the girth  of the equine rib cage and the hominid rib cage should about equal.

And it looks like somebody has read LW& W.

Whereas I've made centaurs a playable race in my Pathfinder campaigns, and am generally rather disappointed with the variety of available miniatures. There's none that are wearing heavy armor, for example. I'd love to see a centaur in full-plate, including barding on the horse parts...

Your wish is my one-off conversion...

My problem with using barded horse bodies in a conversion is that you then have to contend with the saddle. I'm surprised we just can't get a decent, heavily armored centaur knight across multiple company offerings...

I once sent my guy into battle with a Chaos Knight in the saddle. But, yes, centaur barding would differ.

Presumably, centaurs that wanted to Armour up would find that bespoke armor meant for them would be quite expensive, whereas repurposed barding for ordinary horses would be more plentiful and less costly.  :upside:

The centaurs in Reaper's Warlord game (captain, warrior, archer) are pretty heavily armored, it's just fairly primitive plates sewn into hide. Two of those mode it into Bones I. I know it's not the big chainmail-and-plate armor that you're looking for, but it's considerably more protection than the standard centaur.

Still, as a mythical creature, centaurs spent a lot of time out in the forest drinking wine and molesting passing humans; with the exception of Chiron they were rarely depicted as wearing any clothes at all. So I get why the minis rarely stray from that look.

That said, I think a phalanx of centaurs in hoplite armor, with appropriate shields and helmets, would be pretty boss.

Yeah, I actually have two sets of those, because I got them in pewter on clearance a few years back, and then got them in Bones 2. I did some mods to get an archer and mage out of the Bones ones. I'm talking fullplate style, but that's at least a fair point.

If you have a look at Iron Wind Metals/Ral Partha, they have a good number of centaurs that go from lightly clothed (I’m waiting for their two naked centaurs to come back some day) to bathed in plate mail.  The only problem might be some scale creep from the eighties until now.
