Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

I'm hoping the pulp encounter is a byakhee chasing a car full of investigators. One driving, one holding a lantern so a third can read from a tome, and the fourth shooting or swinging a weapon at the monster.

Sounds good to me!

We need equality for trolls! A three headed troll with women's heads! And then one with two of one gender and one of the other. This discrimination against tri-trolls must end!

You jest, but I would love a three headed trollop.

Already less than $20,000 to the next goal!

Is it my imagination or is pledging moving along more quickly today?

I hope so! That would be wonderful

I <3 Tananda 4EVA!

Image result for foglio tananda

Seriously a "Mythadventures" set from Reaper would SOOOOO get my money. Especially Aahz, Gleep, Guido, Nunzio, and Don Bruce!

For me resin is king. while metal and resin can both do the detail, larger thinner parts cause issues for the molds (someone from reaper explained it at a long post on the paizo forums a few years back) for metal due to it needing higher heat which damages the molds.  also larger things become very heavy and metal is just annoying to convert due to harder to saw/drill through.

after resin, i prefer hard detailed plastic (Games WOrkshop style and apparently the new stuff from GF9 collector series - their larger kits coming in october/november this year will be GW style plastic sprues).  Then bones. then finally metal.

i used to like metal models. then i started converting and doing larger pieces and metal just became too annoying.  that said, most of the stuff i get, doenst come in metal anyways so it stopped becoming an issue :)

I agree with this 100%, especially after recently finding some long lost GW metal minis.

For me, an old lead head, Bones Black hits JUST the right point between quality of casting and price. I am not that great a painter, so the additional quality of resin or high end plastics is really wasted on me, as I am not up to that standard. That being said I did pick up one of the Murkillor resins from the Reaper store as a gift for a friend of mine who IS an awesome painter. He will be having a happy Christmas! ::D:

This is exactly how I feel as well.

Including the part about being an old lead head.^_^

Down to less than $15,000 to goal.

Can we really manage an unlock in one day?

Need about 320$ every ten minutes for that, but early tomorrow is not unlikely, IMO. I think it is most likely some 1$ backers getting off the fence and bumping their pledges. We may also be getting a surge due to Ebay re-sellers.

There have been several comments in the KS asking about Caravan Wagons, and wanting them to be a bit modular (different sets of goods to put in the back, etc.)

They just showed a printed off catapult (size not finalized disclaimer):

Apparently it MIGHT come with two different arms, with different ammo (?)

Glad  to hear the size isn’t final. It looks way to big to me. The wheels shouldn’t be as tall as man...

Ron just said the Chronoscope expansion isn't even on the next map... (so not until Map 6?)

If we hit 17, 745 backers, they will add a Treasure Golem to the core set.  They will preview it tomorrow on Bones 5 Live.

Just for Catapult size comparison with other models:

Edit:  The next revealed stretch goal will be a new expansion, so they will have 3 different Expansions interlacing.

      Story
It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square.
WANTED:  LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery.  REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member.
Speculation and rumour was rife!  Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam?  Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women!
Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit.
But still the robberies and raids continued...
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume Two
A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games.
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One
You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge.  Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'.  You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals!
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One

It's only an 11 day  project, so hury up and back.

Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal.  So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market.  We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin.  These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE!  Just mail it back to us.   Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures.  We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
