You can paint over it though...

But not if I want to use the translucent look

If I want to preserve the translucent nature, then something that is purple translucent has to be purple. Something green translucent has to be green

If the make the gem dragon blue translucent, then if I want to keep the translucent look it has to be a blue gem dragon

I can't exactly make a diamond dragon or a Ruby dragon and have the translucent effect when the whole thing is blue

That is why I prefer clear. We can make it whatever color we want and not have to choose between painting it solid or using the translucency but being limited in what colors we can use

The above boat will be almost 2x as long as the Dreadmere rowboat (which is displayed below for those who don't have it)

Ah yes.  Forgive me. Didn't think about translucency colours.

Underwater Revnants (undead)

Screen Shot 2019-10-17 at 7.02.18 PM.png

They are undead that are infested with hagfish... They are part of a future expansion... that may be revealed tonight...

While the figurehead is truly a thing of beauty.... those revenants make me want to pitch my dinner...

I'll be honest, I'm just not into the translucent figures. I get it for some, and it is nice for tabletop ethereal stuff when I'm lazy.... but I don't really enjoy painting them. Yeah, I can prime over it and they'll be opaque, but there is something about them that automatically makes me go "meh" in general. A good figure is still a good figure, but if I had a vote on opaque vs transparent, I'd say opaque every time.

I honestly don't really like colored translucent. I feel very restricted on what color it can be when it is already a deep shade of purple or green

I've been pushing that for a while. If it's clear I can make it any color I want. If it's colored, I can only make it that color or a color I can mix with that color.

I understand the desire to use a color (because it makes out of the box play easier), but I strongly prefer clear for all translucents.

They showed it again.  An artist had this on their twitch stream, and Reaper reached out, and plan (hope) to make it into a mini for the Core set.

I did not hear that as "Core Set", I heard that as "will (probably) become a mini at some point."

I was hoping for both to be an option.

Those are gross enough to make me reverse any decision I might have had about getting any undersea expansion.

Let's hope it doesn't end up as an undefined blob in the finished piece.

That was my thought too. They are truly wonderfully wretched! ::P:

It sounded like they are part of an as-yet completely unrevealed expansion, not one we already have part of.

Don't forget that the decor has no atmosphere.

He's been saying that for a bit.

I thought he said the Chronoscope expansion isn't until later on the next map.  If it's not until Map 6, that's discouraging, because they initially started this project planning on only 5 maps.

I'm getting really discouraged about sci-fi in Bones 5.  In Bones 2, the Chronoscope expansion was revealed before the mid way point, and the first unlock of it was on Day 19 at $1,965,00. In Bones 3, we had the Blackstar Corsairs revealed AND unlocked on day 1, and the Sledgehammer unlocked on day 12 at $1,310,000. And in Bones 4, the Chronoscope expansion was revealed on Day 2 and fully unlocked by Day 12 and 1,210,000.  And here we are at day 17 and $2,031,000 and no sci-fi in sight.

Not going to stop me from backing, because there is stuff I want, but I was really looking forward to some new sci-fi stuff this time.

I see to recall a video where it was stated that while there would be some Chronoscope figures that it wouldn't be a big part of this KS.  And not much in the way of SCI-FI.

Not necessarily...:poke:

seriously, though, I completely agree with you and @Doug Sundseth - clear gives so many more options.

I'm guessing that the colored translucents are more appealing to the bulk of the market place, though.  My guess is that many DMs simply want to pull out a green ghost or a purple shadow demon, and plop it down at is amongst their prepaints.

I'm thinking that it might be better for the ship to be an opaque brown for that reason.

      Story
It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square.
WANTED:  LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery.  REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member.
Speculation and rumour was rife!  Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam?  Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women!
Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit.
But still the robberies and raids continued...
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume Two
A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games.
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One
You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge.  Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'.  You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals!

It's only an 11 day  project, so hury up and back.

Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal.  So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market.  We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin.  These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE!  Just mail it back to us.   Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures.  We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
