Agreed.  I immediately upped my pledge when I saw it even though it puts me 12 over what I intended to spend this month (Not like  I'm spending money I can't afford, I just borrowed from a different hobby's allocation this month) because I've been in the camp asking them to consider it and I'm very glad they did.

That might have as much to do with casting/molding than with falling into a trope.

Sure that might be the reason. I still would love to see a wagon with realistic wheels for once.

In hindsight, they might have been better off reversing the order of the bust reveals - This one should have been done first, and the dragon bust now.

They probably look at the ending sales totals for the Busts after the Pledge Manager closes, not the immediate pledging.  The as-it-is-relased pledging is only a segment of crazies like us who watch the Kickstarter minute by minute. ::):

And on another note, as someone who has homecast spoked wheels for artillery limbers, they are truly the devils work! ::P:

I agree, it's more about the casting process, and rigidity of the final product. (Recall that yesterday they said they were having issues w/ the Model A Ford having parts that were too thin/bendy).

I guarantee Reaper is paying attention to how the KS funding was impacted by the reveal of the busts. Ron commented about how 'they aren't doing well' yesterday during Reaper Bones 5 Live.

Well, other companies manage spoked carts, so it has to be possible.

The thing is that in many movies that are fantasy or playing in the medieval times, they use those full wood wheels. I've got the impression that a lot of people actually think that wheels were that way back then...

I'm not surprised, as I'm sure Reaper is constantly taking the temperature of the Kickstarter and analyzing it's health.  They didn't get as good at this as they are by not paying attention.  They're constantly learning and adapting.   But, I stand by my belief that as to whether they produce more busts in the future will depend on how these sell overall, not how they did in the past 2 or 3 days.

So, if not many people buy the busts in the PM. Will they not be produced at all? The KS states "Lastly there is the risk we will not produce a specific model shown. This will only occur if there is not enough interest in a specific model measured by the number of backers that actually pledge for to back it verses the cost to produce it. This event has never occurred in any of our previous Kickstarters, but is nonetheless still a risk. In the event this situation develops you will have plenty of time to adjust your Pledge Manager."

I think the busts probably have a target audience, but I dont think the bones audience is that target. Wonder what will happen.

I agree, sales will be the final arbiter as to if Reaper does more Bones busts in the future.

But I'd wager that the poor funding performance yesterday means we won't likely see any more during the remainder of this KS.

No, we're not talking about whether they will be made or not; they definitely will be made once they are unlocked.   The question is whether the amount they sell will inspire Reaper to do other different Busts in the future.

Edit: Ignore the faded text. (For some reason the line -through font isn't available in edit mode)  My error was pointed out by ksbsnowowl below.

Agreed - I suspect they'll do well enough in the 6-8 months that the pledge manager is open as word spreads, and people get curious enough to try them out.  Even at post KS prices they'll be cheaper than most of the other busts on the market, making them a good "entry level" bust.

But I think that Reaper expected them to give a good boost to the KS, and that they're disappointed that they not only didn't, but that yesterday was one of the worst Bones KS days ever.

It will be interesting to see.  Reaper knows this is the lowest point for pledging in any of their Kickstarters.  So they couldn't have been counting on too big of a push just from historical experience...

Except Smokestack's quote of Reaper from the Kickstarter itself directly refutes this.

Not saying they won't make them, but the possibility certainly exists.

Kristof65 makes a good point about if word spreads about them to the true target audience for busts while the PM is open.

Huh, wow, I need to read more carefully.  ::P:    I would really be surprised if they did that and risk a lot of mad customers.

I know they said they almost cancelled Argent, but that was not for sales reasons, but rather production costs....

      Story
It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square.
WANTED:  LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery.  REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member.
Speculation and rumour was rife!  Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam?  Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women!
Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit.
But still the robberies and raids continued...

A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games.

You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge.  Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'.  You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals!

Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal.  So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market.  We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin.  These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE!  Just mail it back to us.   Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures.  We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
