I wonder if the arctic encounter could be Mythos-inspired...

Hope not. Although that might reduce the amount I have to pay for by the end of this thing.

I have no interest in anything Lovecraftian unless it can easily be repurposed to something else.

I would hope that it's all Mythos.

Trying to mix Mythos and sci-fi or western or superhero probably won't go over very well.

I'm with you on that. Lovecraft never really did it for me.

On the other hand, it's starting to look like those of us who like cowboys, supers, and robots are gonna get left out in the cold completely this kickstarter.

Is it just me or is the Gem Dragon a small Dragon?

It's on a 2" base so as dragons go, yes.

I'm wondering if we can convince them to do a Chronoscope Bones KS project?

I know Ron said they've talked about it before, but always rolled it into the next Bones campaign.  Given the lack of love Chronoscope has gotten from Reaper, I think a Chronoscope specific one would be a way for both them and the fans to figure out if the line deserves a future.

Which means you can afford to order extras for variant Gem Dragons of all the different gemstones.

GEM

i dont use the same model for various things.  i'll have to wait to get unique larger gem dragons i guess or decide to actually attempt to make my own...

i wonder if any good gem molds around there.

before that, i need to finish my borys project, and then want to do a Time Dragon (from one of the last dragon magazines.. its a crazy epic god like powerful dragon for 3.5E)

If Chrono does go mythos, I hope the adventurers look like 20th Century adventurers, basing this on the mentions of the Model A Ford.

You're probably right, but it shouldn't have to be that way:  Lovecraft himself wasn't beyond writing sci-fi (at least one of his collaboration stories was set on Old Solar System Venus, and the various Elder monsters in his later stories were actually aliens), the Weird West is a popular Mythos setting and would be the Americanized version of the even more popular Gaslight Mythos setting), and the pulp spawned both the Superhero and Weird Fiction genres virtually side-by-side, with the pulpier side of Weird Fiction overlapping the early superhero genre with the likes of the diabolical Doctor Fu Manchu (one of the original super-villains) sharing a great deal of territory between the two pulp genres (and, not to mention that a Lovecraftian monster intrusion was actually the backbone for the entire plot of The Watchmen superhero comic!)

On paper, pulp western, sci-fi, detective, superhero, and Mythos minis should mix well, but you'll probably have a hard time convincing most backers of that.  "Hey - you got chocolate in my peanut butter!"  "And you got peanut butter in my chocolate!"  "Our childhood has been ruined forever!"  :D

That would be cool.

  • A set with Zulus and British Colonial Troops expanding the metal line with more poses.
  • Alien and IMEF Troops , several poses per race, armoured vehicles/flyer?
  • A Superhero/villain set including a large Death Ray weapon and some vehicles.
  • Mythos set with modern / 20th century explorers.
  • Some kind of Not Stargate with scientists, soldiers and otherworlders.
  • Mad scientist set with all sort of medical equipment, incubator tubes and strange creatures

I know, I'm the one who asked Ron about it LOL!

I would absolutely be there for such a project. I think the line is more sustainable than a lot of people think. The problem is that the kickstarters fill up with very vocal "you must not contaminate MY precious FANTASY project with robots! because I'LL never use it!" types.

There's been a lack of Mythos stuff in this KS so far. Traditionally, we've had a Great Old One in each KS.

Given the fact they've teased a Model A Ford, I doubt the snowy encounter will be Chronoscope.  The Snow Leopard also fits fantasy better than mythos by a fair margin.

In D&D terms it is Large (2" base).  Small would be a ~20mm base.

Here's a kickstarter that I thought looked particularly cool - they're flat-based tiles with magnets that can be reconfigured anyway you want. The video in particular looks pretty cool. Already completely funded. Prices are a bit high and ultimately the system's not for me, but I thought perhaps some others might be interested. :)

      Story
      The Death Knight Rises
To me there's only one true fallen paladin who, deceived by the darkest forces, broke his oath and became a paragon of hatred and terror. But, I am into classic TTRPGs, so I wanted to rethink the concept. Boris Woloszyn, amazing sculptor that he is, took over and has transformed this idea into a remarkable sets of miniatures.
        The Miniatures
There are only two. The Minion is 32mm scale and the Fallen Paladin measures 40mm to the top of his head. They will get cast in the crispest of resins. They come unassembled and without bases.
The Paladin - doing a gentle spin
       PLAY The Minions
      The Pledge Levels
There are two. Ones comes with only the Death Knight, the other comes with the Death Knight and two minions.
The price for only the Death Knight is 15CA$, the set with 1 Death Knight and 2 minions is 35CA$ (less than 30US$).
Backerkit will charge max. 14CA$ for postage on top of that.
        Stretch Goals
We have one and I will unlock it if we reach 10K.
        Add-On's
We will open a backer kit pledge manager for those that want some extra minis, and we make sure to drop all the suitable Boris stuff in there too.

I want to give you a little preview what to expect in terms of add-on's.

There will be this well known lot sculpted by Boris. 10C$ each. (In case you want to top up to find out what 10K will bring)
And there will be some 3D printed things (20 Microns, they paint like casts).

      1. This lad and his little buddy, because dwarves and gobbos. 8CA$
      2. 3 Halflings on a rampage. 2 female 1 male, because. Also - kettle jump pack. The pacK of 3 plus 2 steam bases will be 20 C$
I still have more to throw into the mix, but I need to re-watch that episode now.

      Thanks again!

I'm about to get a new kickstarter running. I like this one a lot. Really easy to paint and make it look good. You'll need a 3d printer which are coming down severely in price lately for good quality ones.
This particular set of ruins has an arch theme to it. Images show all unique pieces except for the bridges which have duplicates.
And the prelaunch link. Due to start Tuesday 8th December https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1173449368/ruins-of-generica
