something i drew many many many years ago   seems fitting

I totally agree with you in that those particular exaggerations are not very realistic in function. This was a challenging character/figure to create because I wanted her to read as feminine but als

The sheer, bewildering variety of Reaper Bones figures might also play into the reluctance of FLGSs to stock them:  there's too many to stock them all, and it might be hard for shopkeepers to decide what will sell in their market, and what will gather dust on the shelves.

Anyone who wants to encourage their FLGS to carry Reaper, it's worth noting that Reaper is pretty easy to set up a direct account (no distributors necessary), and they do a few different assortments that make orders really easy even if you don't know much about the miniatures business (best sellers, monthly new items, etc.).

Forgive me if I'm slow on the uptake, but is 'brocoli' like an effect of the forum swear-word filter?  It's cracking me up every time I see it in weird contexts like that!

That is exactly what it is. Once upon a time the magic word used to be “Elf” thus, there were (or could be) occurrences of: Elfhat, Elfhole, Elf that!, What the Elf!?

To this day, some people liked the Elf substitution so much that they self-censor and still use it to construct phrases like, “he has his head up his Elf!”

But the current auto-substitute word is: broccoli.

As stated previously, 78,2 centimeters is 30.7874 inches, roughly, with the Bowsprit, will make it roughly 31to 32 inches????? 3 feet is 36 inches, so pretty darn close. At $100 option, figure double (To be safe) at retail, so $200, looks like I need to save up some pennies.

that ship is really cool.

so we are looking at slightly shorter than the 83 cm of the wizkids boat for half the price.

If I needed a huge brocoli gaming ship  Iknow where my money would go.

I'm pretty sure the WizKids ship is 83 cm/33" in total, including the bowspirit.  The 78.2 cm/30" measurement for the Bones KS ship is only the deck, not including the bowspirit.  The bowspirit looks to be ~17 cm, so that would be a total of ~95 cm/37.4".

I'd been kind of working under the assumption since I joined that "brocoli base" was like an actual technical term for lumpy, weirdly textured, integral mini bases that, painted vegetation-green, might vaguely look like that vegetable, if you squint your eyes at it and use a little imagination.  I've taken to calling them "broccoli bases" all the time now

It is the actual term used around here... technically. So... Close enough?

Maybe I worked for a FLGS that had better planning than that :/ Or perhaps less experimental with our floor space. We relied on local RPGers for the bulk of our sales and GMs buy the most. A PC needs a PC. A GM needs the books, the minis, the monsters. My current FLGS seems to rely on Star Wars players: X-Wing, Legion, and the RPG.

Oh, there are absolutely stores that do better with stocking - heck, I live in Rochester, my FLGS' include one of the largest - and longest running - game stores in the Northeast. But for every store that does it well - or even half-well - there's a bunch that survive because the owner bought themself a job (and manages to keep the lights, etc. on), or just barely manage to skim by because they're the only game(store) in town, or something like that.

And not switching things up can be as deadly as changing things up too much or too fast - stores that don't alter their stock with the changing times, don't respond to the market as it is (not how they want it to be), or keep paying taxes and rent on stuff that just is never going to sell - that creepy old store that seems like it's stuck in the early 90s (and so are the prices) is great for collectors, and I love finding them... but that doesn't mean I think they're a good marketer or FLGS - just a good place to buy a bunch of stuff at prices i would never be able to arrange otherwise.

The size of the ship originally given somewhere when the first update to mention it appeared was 9" at its widest, and 37" long total (32" deck space).  There were some other statistics, including the total playable area, but I don't see the whole spiel anywhere.

At that time, those figures were not posted in the update itself, and could be considered "subject to change without warning".  With the current update, it sounds like those numbers haven't changed, so for those who were worried that Reaper might argent you on the size, you seem to be safe so far :B):

      I leave this here:

Looking quite good! I'm backing for the character set.

Wellcome to our biggest miniatures ever! Blood and Skulls ork rider is the largest and more detailed miniature in 70 mm scale that Nocturna models released in all of these years. This project is really monstruous and we need your help to fund it.
Take a look at all the figures in the campaign, all of them are in 70 mm scale. Blood and Skulls is 28 cm high!
        28 cm total size

I've bought everything this company has put out so far.  I'll probably pick up these two as well.  Really great figures based on classic artwork.
These two are both nude, so I can't show pictures here!
      NSFW link:
"The muses" is a range of miniatures offered by Golem Miniatures.
These 80 mm scale figures, in limited edition, will all come from realistic and oriental paintings of great painters of the nineteenth, a period that we greatly love.
During the fourth campaign "The muses", we had suggested that you submit ideas for the next muses. A vote had then been put in place to decide between the 27 muses that you had selected.
One muse dominated this vote: "La boîte à bijoux" painted by Guillaume Seignac.
To accompany it, a second muse has been chosen on the same theme: "human skin on animal skin". You will discover it below, hoping she inspires you! :)
During the third Muses campaign, we produced the magnificent Lady Godiva painted by John Collier, a famous English painter and one of the founders of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
Here is another of his works: "Lilith" painted in 1889.
Lilith is a mythical Hebrew and Biblical figure (Adam's first wife), whom some see as the very first portrayal of feminism in history.

I'm Adam Sadler, senior game designer at Blacklist Games, and I love miniatures. They are what got my brother Brady and me into the hobby back when we were teenagers. Whether we’re using them in roleplaying games, board games, or tabletop miniatures games, we love collecting, assembling, painting, and playing with them. While Blacklist Games has published several of our games that feature miniatures, they saw our passion could be used for the creation of a new division that would focus solely on miniatures and allow for company growth in parallel with creating great board games. With everyone at the company excited about the possibility of this new division, here we are to share it with you!
Blacklist Miniatures will focus entirely on producing high quality, highly detailed, pre-assembled plastic miniatures to be used in any type of game. Blacklist Miniatures: Fantasy Series 1, our first miniatures line, is not only a celebration of our love for miniatures, but also of all things fantasy.
With your support, this campaign will not only bring this project to life, but also open the door to other lines of miniatures in various genres and even new games to utilize them!

First time posting a KS thread.  Tribality is releasing a companion book to their previous KS "Seas of Vodari."  I thoroughly enjoyed the previous book and have been looking forward to this one.
As this is the first time I'm posting a KS thread, please feel free to let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

I think that's enough for context.  The rest can be found on the KS page.
