For those looking at the size of the ship, I did a rough estimate of overall dimensions based on the renders and the provided scale, and compared those to the Falling Star by WizKids. It is going to be HUGE.

I also did an overlay of a picture of someone holding a WizKid ship versus a Reaper estimate, but it is a WoTC copyrighted picture. Not sure if I can post it here.

Edit: based on feedback, will post it.

My FLGS, seems to have a sour opinion of Reaper. They stopped carrying their line of paints, and have only a single bones black figure, because the owner told me the BB figures are the same sculps as the original bones figures. I gather it has to do with their distributor.

Every dollar you spend at Reaper's store is a dollar that owner does not see. If you know enough people, save your receipts and show him the money he ISN'T getting. Might change his attitude.

Funny should say that, I'm working on ways to convert this to an airship…

Well, they finally remembered they had a comic strip to *supposedly go with the KS progress,...

I’d guess that as Reaper’s lead concept artist/Imagineer, Izzy *might* be a wee bit busier than they otherwise expected she might be, given the KS blew through twenty-odd days of stretch goals in a day a little bit ago....

It would not be hard at all for Reaper to produce a series of 3 balloon masts to replace the more normal masts currently with the ship

Or one more oblong balloon that affixes to the mast holes:

I've been asking for translucent elemental rings and support struts for Eberron air ships. Ron has several times said no dice.

ETA: I know it's not the same as a spelljammer or dirigible. Just thought it would be worth mentioning.

yeah stuff like that or proper spelljammer ships, i guess would need to be from hasbro license or custom stuff.

current campaign has chaos ships (including Orcus' personal ship), and spelljammer ships (drow modified elven ones) that the players now have.

As has been alluded to in other posts, I think this is due to a large percentage of wargamers coming from a model building background. The ones with a model railroading background especially seem to enjoy scratch builds, conversions, and kit bashing.

I am of the opinion that those of us who prefer to assemble our minis, rather than have them preassembled, are from those types of hobbies.

I'm an outlier, then; I prefer to assemble my minis, and I have no real background for any kind of complicated models.

I figure if it's going to be assembled wrong or weird, then I prefer it be because /I/ screwed it up. I might not be able to fix it, but I'll know what went wrong for the next time.

... and it's frequently easier to paint them unassembled. There's always something....

Probably because Reaper doesn't have a license for the specifics.

Not that I'd trust Ron's word either way, because his track record is so elfing poor.... :/

I, however, would also like translucent rings one could use for that. They might also make nice portals, after all. Or. OR! Whirlpool effects for sea battles. Or spell-effect rings for those pesky fireballs.  >.>

Phrasing, or so, no?

I want to see this next encounter. The Ship is interesting, but ... gorramnit, I'm a /fantasy gamer/. I might want the thing. But I have no use for it - I'm not likely to be running .. what, a game set in the Master and Commander setting?! *grubmle* Eh. I might get it anyway, for the gits and shiggles. Who knows.

If you have or know someone with a 3d printer, there is one on thingiverse. I would rather buy one from Reaper, myself, being an unashamed fanboy, but needs must. In spelljammer, if I remember correctly, the converted naval ships were considered the worst of the spelljammers, suitable for use only until something better could be purchased. Just like for an airship, a purpose built gondola would be superior to a converted boat. YMMV. My ship will be thoroughly naval, thank you very much. Mildly crazy dwarves try to swim, Only totally broccolibrained, two hammers and one anvil short of a forge dwarves try to fly

      Story
It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square.
WANTED:  LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery.  REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member.
Speculation and rumour was rife!  Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam?  Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women!
Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit.
But still the robberies and raids continued...
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume Two
A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games.
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One
You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge.  Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'.  You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals!
      Waylaid by Bandits Volume One

It's only an 11 day  project, so hury up and back.

Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal.  So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market.  We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin.  These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE!  Just mail it back to us.   Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures.  We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
