The skull headed pins are a specialty item that’s only available at reapercon. According to ReaperBryan (long ago) they’re pretty labor intensive to make, which is why they aren’t available regularly.

Jon, I guess that should be ReaperJon, from ReaperLive said the same thing recently.

And he is the ones making the pins.

They’re too labour intensive to produce in any great quantity.

And here's an updated list of the teased/rumored/predicted items, with links to screenshots - "(NWS)" denotes links to screenshots that aren't work/family safe, so click them at your own discretion:

  • red dragon (thanks, StarFyre!)
  • white dragon (thanks, StarFyre!)
  • godzilla model
  • 2 brinewind slots (the safest bets for reveals!  Reaper has never left an expansion hanging incomplete yet)

Note that just because Reaper teased something, doesn't mean it will appear in this Kickstarter, and these teases may be incomplete or otherwise subject to change without warning, so don't get attached to any of the above.

That said, I suspect that it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect most of the above items with a screenshot attached to be revealed in some form - and probably unlocked  - before the end of the Kickstarter.  Except of course for the rest of the Brinewind expansion, anything without a screenshot can be considered to be unlikely to appear until at least a screenshot is teased.

I hate to say it, but maybe he is a professional troll and he is being paid to neg  the project. This seems like an increasingly common phenomena - paid influencers and trolls attempting to manipulate the market. A competing entity (another KS perhaps) might benefit from any negative impact he creates.

This seems like it would be anti-competitive behavior and be pretty serious business. But a lot of things dont get enforced the way they should.

On twitch Brother Dave mentioned the $5 cost to make, and what would people are willing to pay for it

Don’t get me wrong, it would be great if these were more widely available, I’d be stoked! I only have one because my ninja shopper at reapercon got me one a few years ago. I was just letting you know what I knew.

The problem is that they’d have to find the guy and prove it. Reaper is pretty big for a minis company, but they don’t have money to throw at investigating that sort of thing.

Hey all! I could use another set of eyes (or twenty!).

If you're so inclined, please have a look at this and let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!

I think it looks fantastic and is super-helpful for me, at least.

The others, as cynical as their doubts may seem, might be right that there will inevitably be some backers who'll find a way to misconstrue it as a promise issued directly from the Reapers themselves to do everything on that list before those dates and in time for their birthday, but then there's always some of these in every Bones Kickstarter who are doomed to confusion in spite of the best efforts of anyone involved.

The question might be whether the timeline will help more people than it will confuse?  I'd like to think so.

Maybe add the words like "about", "approximately", or "estimated" before each date?  That assumes the Permaconfused backers know what those words mean, or that they won't totally ignore them, or convert them via wishful thinking to words like "promised", "guaranteed", or "contractually obligated", of course....

Thanks for the info. Due to the effort these require, it seems at best it might be a promotional item outside of Reapercon.

You got that right.  Lots of unprofessional behavior, and much comes from those who really should know better.

I picked up a pot of skulls (they were the paint shaker bits but in a old Reaper Pro Paint pot) for the price of whatever the going rate for metal was my first year at RCon.  I think it was a couple of ounces (been awhile since I've picked that pot up). I kinda wish I would have grabbed a couple more. It's one of those perks for attending RCon.

I'm not sure if recent pokers suffer from breakage but a recently acquired one broke, (thread on here) but it didn't have the T-pin inserted.

Ed or Ron mentioned them on a Reaper Live show earlier this year. Inspired me to make one for myself. It's not metal though...

This.

Add more qualifiers that it isn't from Reaper, make it more vague - especially since many things are totally beyond Reaper's ability to control.  Things like "estimated spring 2021" (as YronimosW recommended) instead of just "spring 2021" go a long way toward decreasing confusion and frustration.  I personally like it, as it helps those who don't understand the cycle of a kickstarter project.  But who knows what Reaper's management (not to be confused with forum moderators) will think about it.  Perhaps drop one of them a note with the link and ask for input.
