The thing is, though, those cyber reavers ARE ENTIRELY spindly bits.

I'm pretty sure they'll come out of the molds looking great. But will they stand up to shipping, handling and game play?

I hear you... But given my experience with them, I think Reaper made a mistake in introducing Bones Black as "more fragile" than Bones... More a middle ground between Bones and metal. I still find them pretty durable, even with my players (for their sake, I will never put resin on the table unless it's got the mass of Khanjira and the shape of, I dunno, the dumpster? I'm leery of handing them Darksword minis).

Problem is that the ship is effectively $200 since it isn't really possible to imagine adding it and not the Dark Depths and Brinewind expansions.

I don't know, I'm skipping enchantment under the sea set...

Alternately, I thought I would just go for Brinewind, but then Dark Depths unlocked fully and I realised I wanted that as well, and then I realised all those figures would only be useful in a nautical campaign, and well, surely, I'd have to get a ship for that.

I wonder if the cyber reavers will be multi part like the metal ones are?  They could be shot in HIPS and shipped on the sprue if they are.   That would open up a bunch of possibilities for conversions.   The metal ones have some conversion possibilities, but the weight and fragility of them sort of limit them in ways that HIPS wouldn't have.

I have plenty of pirates already, and when we use it, it will be player characters trying to sail it anyway.  Getting the new goroloth.  We have the old one, and a bunch of sea creatures from B2 or 3.

Not necessarily. I've got plenty of metal pirates I could use with it, so I wouldn't need to get Brinewind; I'd still have a pretty full crew already.

BB is far more durable than the WizKids figures. I agree, I'm not sure why Reaper decided to describe them in that manner. I really didn't purchase many Bones human sized figures due to the lack of detail, bendy weapons, and a number of figures just didn't stand up right. Even the water/heat methods couldn't quite fix some these.

I do have lots of Bones monsters.

I paint for tabletop RPG gaming, so the Encounter sets have been interesting to me.  The idea of the usual drawing the outlines of rooms etc on the grid map and then adding some of the Encounter pieces as "highlights" is similar to what I have done already with some of the Bones IV pieces.

The charnal pit didnt seem that interesting since it felt like it was all pieces that would just go into one room.  But the idea of having Goremaw or something crawl out of the pit and be the real challenge for the party is an awesome idea.

Has anyone considered using the Encounter at Gallowguard set not for tabletop gaming but ignore skeletons/scout minis and just use it as a prebuilt diorama base.  Paint it up and put whatever mini you want on that bridge as a display.

Is for me. While the sculpts in the Dark Depths expansion are lovely, I will never do any sort of undersea campaigns or encounters.

That's what I plan on doing. I already do that with Dwarven Forge stuff, even though they sell their sets as Encounters during KS.

Oh man, this is gonna hurt. I just did a quick add up of of everything that is currently unlocked that I'm interested in and I got a rather high total.

...and it's not over yet.

High totals being relative and all...

The Chronoscope eval I've done for my interests have it at exactly equal for cost vs. what I want if it was retail. So it got added. I almost added Brinewind, but then went and removed some of the pirates from the want list, and it dropped it a lot. Debating on the Demonic Temptation, as I only want half.

But it's all pushed me a lot higher than what I thought I was going to be in for this round.
