Trying to decide if there's anything I want and not really. Usually bones have been back loaded for me. The stuff I want are the cool monsters at the end. Here, it's all front loaded. Even with shipping, if we remove that 50 there's still an overbid.  

 

So I'm adding fan expansion almost just to fill the slot. Maybe I take the Japanese one instead since I do want a few figures from there. Sigh

 

This has never happened before...

Keep in mind there's still hidden costs coming like VAT / Tax and more accurate shipping. But besides that, the Fan Favorites contains so much goodness!

If you really don't like it yourself, it'll be popular enough for resale purpose to cover a chunk of your KS costs :)

Phew, what a ride! Am in for usd 320 and will probably top that up and be tempted by things before PM closes. It is hard to know if I will want duplicates of anything. 

 

I was disappointed by Chronoscope, was really looking forward to it all being 20s era investigators with a vintage car. Oh well. 

 

Fan Favourites the usual mixed bag but there is probably £50 plus of things I like in there. On the other hand it is always the first one to be released to retail so maybe I will wait. 

 

Brinewind looks ace. A good tie in to Dreadmere and a distinctive style. A good value as well with lots of characterful minis. 

 

Those last encounters were cool as well. I just like the encounter idea generally and when you bear in mind that each bones mini is likely to be about 4usd or 4gbp when it gets to retail (or higher) the value becomes clear.

Good morning folks!

 

That was a wild weekend and great finish to the KS. Just wanted to start by saying Reaper are AWESOME! Such a great company, listening to everyone's ideas and requests, and making cool minis at an amazing price. I think there is something in there for everyone.

 

Here are the final graphs for backers and pledges, and the latest value rating spreadsheet. I can update this once in a while over the next year plus as we get scale images and such. Adding the disclaimer again from before that this is all best-guesses.

 

For those interested in the spreadsheet breakdown of the KS options, a few things:

• I made this to track what I wanted from the KS and started playing around with the relative value and value rating numbers. This is merely a rough estimate, and actual retail may (will) vary. It is also not indicative of each set’s worth, everything in this KS is a great deal, the true value really depends on what minis appeal to you.
• I have tried to parse out the minis by retail cost, and rearranged them by the D&D terms for base size. This is far from perfect, but gives a close approximation. Some of the larger minis are very hard to put a price on, the add on dragons could retail for 25, 30 or $40 in the end.
• The Value Rating is pretty straight forward, it is just the Relative Value (estimated retail) divided by the (Kickstarter) Cost. The higher the number the ‘better’ the deal. Again, the best deal are the minis you want, everything here is a great deal.
• If you see any errors, or note discrepancies in sizes I have assigned minis for each set, please let me know.

I'll probably use it that way too.

 

For those of you wondering what it is, I will say that it was inspired by the sussurus from the '81 Fiend Folio, easily one of the most obscure old school monsters. I can see it fitting a few roles (eg popup skull pile, shambling mound, large vine horror, small tendriculous, etc). TBH I was caught up in the mood of the Halloween season, and I wanted to do something that would be horrifying - all those glowing eyes staring at you from the dark.....

i don't think so...the majority of fan favorites from last bones are still unreleased

 

pretty sure nothing is actually. They JUST released the Chaos Toads into the store on the 1st, but everything else in there is still unreleased, i'm almost positive. The flail snail, mimics, penguins, mammoth, portal, catfolk, efreeti, dark dwarves, zombie shark, etc. None of them are out yet

 

i would actually say Fan Favorites is dead last for retail releases

Well, 5 out of the ~35 sculpts in Fan Favorites are November releases. (Chaos Toads and Cavalry)

Plus you have the Dwarf Pounder and the Maggotcrown Ogre that were/are the freebies.   Oh, and the Efreet

 

Looks to me like they're doing a pretty good job of mixing up the retail releases from all of the parts of Bones 4.

i wouldn't say they are first released to retail though, like the person I quoted did.

 

I wouldn't consider freebies either, that's not real retail releases. That's spend $40 to get one, then they're gone until they actually get released to retail

 

Lost Valley, Dreadmere, and Darkreach have seen significant releases to retail, and Fan Favorites only got 5 this month, so i wouldn't say it's that even. 

 

but fan favorites is definitely not first

Speaking of which, it would be nice to see Sir For Scale's two brothers make it to individual retail in metal, and maybe to bones in B6. 

 

It's a shame that the only way to get those two is by buying the $40 9-pack.
