I expect that we* will use Krampus as an evil satyr or demon creature in games.

*by we i mostly mean my DM/spouse

I .... may already have plans for this.  There's a solid chance though that I'll need to use a different figure for what I have in mind, depending on campaign speed.:;,;:

I imagine changing the price after the kickstarter closed would get them into trouble. Especially since they are unable to change the text and graphics on kickstarter.com now that the project is over.

Can they add more to the pledge manager after the KS? I thought they did this with the barge?

If so, no harm in keeping the $12 elemental scion pack (with 3) and creating another elemental pack with all of them with a different name at a different price point.

I would guess that adding pieces or packs to existing Pledge Manager stuff is okay, but can you imagine the uproar if they raised the price on packs after the end of the campaign? Even if it added product, there would be screaming ang wailing like the Vikings had raided a village!

I still don't get how Krampus is in the Core and Santa is in Chronoscope, those two are basically useless for almost anything,

I don't know. From a gaming perspective the Krampus in the Core Set works for me. I mean, Krampus steals bad kids. There are kid heroes in the Core set. Krampus steals the wrong kid on Christmas Eve and it's up to the kids to save him. I think it would work for a one shot scenario when DMing for a pack of children. Fun, quick, and maybe a even a little bit frightening for little ones.

Well, they're good for gaming.  I've done a umber of Christmas themed games during the holiday season and they're always a lot of fun*.  But I agree that they'd be more useful if put not some sort of Add-On or Encounter set along with some North Pole Elves, Snowmen, etc.

*My favorite was a Nazi invasion of the North Pole in an attempt to seize Santa's magical toy factories to use for weapons production!  http://onemoregamingproject.blogspot.com/2013/03/santa-claus-vs-nazis-gaslight-game-at.html

Because, ya know, 3D resin printer.

Hmm...another pro for getting a resin printer myself.

What time is the Twitch again? I have never done it before, but I'd like to get in on this giveaway thing...

Congrats on your win.

It seems wrong to put a fragment of a group into a different set. Were I one who wanted the Elemental Scions but didn't like the Fan Favorites, I'm missing out on a quarter of what should have been in that one set unless I want to spend an extra $50 or wait another few years for it to hit retail. Not great.

I think the thinking was that the 4th one already existed from Bones 4.   No need to do another one.

Again, this is the impression I had. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.

Same here.

I had a similar impression, but it seemed odd that they didn't think to have all four elementals in a single set. They had a few other expansions and add-ons that were lacking art at the time of reveal, but still had them included. It seems like an oversight not to have intended to have all four elements covered in one add-on.

Again, I'm not mad that they're putting an extra mini into an expansion I'm going to buy. It just seems a little illogical that it's going there, rather than in the set where it would make the most sense.

Take a look at the Large Elementals.  We got Fire and Earth in Bones 1, Water in Bones 2, and finally got Air in Bones 3.   This time around doesn't seem so bad - the Female Djinn was in Bones 4, and they decided to "round out the set" with the rest of the elements in Bones 4.  It was the fans who changed that dynamic.

Yeah, the only way they could get away with it is by having the original 3 pack for $12, and then adding a four pack for $16.    That would not only increase the logistical issues for Reaper during fulfillment, but would lead to all sorts of issues with customer expectations based on their ability to actually remember what they've ordered.

Adding what was clearly a fan request outside of Reaper's expectations for the scions to the fan favorites makes sense to me.

I'm going to go out on a short limb, though, and make this prediction:

By the time Bones 6 rolls around, Reaper will have heard multiple requests for the "missing" genders of the Fire, Water and Earth Scions, and will do another three pack to add them, so that there is a full set of 8 (all four elements in both genders) in the Bones Black Line.  But fans who missed Bones 4 & 5 (or who simply can't make the connection), will once again complain about the "missing" scion.

The Krampus works as an enemy without Santa (I mean, Saint Nicolas and Santa share the same root, obviously, but the 'Santa' character is a different thing entirely from my European perspective.), and running a Holiday one-shot with the kid adventurers is a great idea that I might just have to steal co-opt.

A regular NPC dressed up as a 'Father Winter' character would be hilarious though. You ask Santa for help and he pulls down his beard - "come now, kids, you KNOW I'm just some shmuck with a fake beard! I don't know what to do!"

Or do as Jim Butcher did in his Dresden series, Santa and Odin are the same person. Now THAT would be a nasty surprise! "Yeah, I'm gonna whup up on this jolly old man." OOPS!

Okay, now I've got too find the right mini to do that!

Thanks for the congrats. I was very surprised.

As for the Scions, we also got a female Efreeti in Bones 4, so saying that there's a Djinni there already covering the fourth base is a little weird. I'd understand if we only got the Earth and Water genies in this set, but they added a new fire, so it does seem weird. Again, not saying that they did anything wrong so much as it looks weird from an outside perspective.

I forgot about the Efreet.

So now there is only two "missing".

@Disciple of Sakura again congrats!

The thing that folks tend to lose sight of is that KS is designed to generate cash to pay for molds for models they think will sell. By not having to leverage a loan, this keeps the company financially stable. This is why to request threads of "Bones we'd like to see" are important, because they are hearing what folks want. The Chronoscope expansion is a good example of this. Last KS it was scattered and jumbled, this time they used a more cohesive grouping of the three sections and I think it will work better for them [I sincerely hope]. It will also allow me to put the zombie section up for sale as a group/lot easily.

And we certainly don't need that!

(The wailing, I'd be all over some Vikings!)

Given that they created their own pledge manager, I'd suspect ignoring logistical things, it wouldn't be too hard for them to add in an item or three during the pledge manager phase if they wanted to :)
