I understand you can make multiple PM orders and they will all ship at the same time. But will the shipping costs of multiple PM orders take into account what you've already paid in shipping? Or will you ultimately pay more in shipping if you piecemeal tour PM orders? Just curious.

If, after adding items, the weight changes, then the PM will add in the additional charge for shipping.

For shipping, I'm quite sure that they're using a weight and box size tool to get a shipping number. (Either one can be the determiner for shipping cost, since large, low mass packages are priced as if they were heavy packages.)

And when you add stuff to your order, the system figures a new total mass and box size(s) and refigures shipping. In the case of the pirate ship, I suspect its size is what's driving the cost up.

That's what I figure too.

Every item has an estimated weight and volume, and their combination decides which box size it goes in. Once you reach a certain threshold, you jump to the next box size and costs rise.

I remember with Bones 3, ordering a second Mal'Drakar would have a mild increase or large increase in shipping costs if I added/removed much smaller items that individually essentially had free shipping costs (meaning their weight/volume was within the allowance of a box size).
