funded Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

The main reason I'd want a clear version is to have the windows in the back to be transparent. I'm not sure it's worth worrying about the whole figure in clear, though. Maybe just making that part in clear would be a nice thing to do overall?

Finally confirmed my initial "order".

• Daimyo Expansion x1
• Dark Depths Expansion x1
• Brinewind Expansion x1

Shipping was, as it always is, painful, but not nearly as bad as it could have been.  Now I have a few months to add some more bits and bobs.

My own feeling is that the glow one isn’t a good idea and I hope the sample materials they receive make them realize that and bring out a translucent instead.

 

No interest in glow. Which would save me $100, so there's that.

I mean, if I wanted glow, there's glow in the dark paint, but there isn't paint to make something opaque turn translucent.....

Second is for a friend.  He's very much into Cthulhu stuff and I've bought him one of each of the monsters thus far.  He hasn't painted them yet, but I'm still happy to throw one at him.  Reaper does such a great job on them.

I think they haven't added the non-Bones Black ones to the PM yet.

This is why I haven't bought the ship yet. 

 

By the time the PM was open it was pretty clear there was going to be at least two types of ship, but only one was listed in the PM...

Same. I don't want to mess with any clears or glowy versions with all those levels and stuff inside. Seems like it would be a visual mess.

So a question for the group, since some of you have likely done this before.  I am planning on getting 4 of the dragon busts, and using them to make bookends.  What/where would you recommend getting material to put the bust onto that has weight enough to serve the purpose?  I've found a site with 1pd lead ingots, but I wasn't sure that it would work since it's only an inch or so high.

I would honestly just buy wood plinths from a craft store, and possibly drill a hollow in the bottom and install some zinc washers for added weight, myself.
