So a question for the group, since some of you have likely done this before.  I am planning on getting 4 of the dragon busts, and using them to make bookends.  What/where would you recommend getting material to put the bust onto that has weight enough to serve the purpose?  I've found a site with 1pd lead ingots, but I wasn't sure that it would work since it's only an inch or so high.

I'd hit up some trophy shops and see what they have for weighted bases. The dragon busts would look great on marble bases.

Buy some metal bookends, the simple ones for offices.

That way the weight of the books helps hold the bookends in place.

Use wood or foam or greenstuff to make "walls" and make it look better with the dragons.

Lots of stuff was in the Bones 5 Live update stream last week, but I didn't get around to watching it until today.

First, a bonus doxie for Brinewind.

1093111643_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_30_36PM.png.3f3ccbbe2fef2173670bf2013df518c4.png

An "elven asian-themed" doxie.  They didn't say it, but I think they were going for a hint of a geisha look.

She is molded to fit on the bed.

Here is the finished render of the Buglips the Goblin from Fan Favorites.  His scale has been upped a touch to allow for all the details (he is 22.5 mm tall).

1656416545_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_31_26PM.png.0ddd0430e79f1ab20ccbf6f5e8516d2b.png1794197958_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_31_47PM.png.c0c761514f48339ded8c36c78f2491fd.png433925366_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_32_03PM.png.ecc38ddb0198cce2d6b8da8982b434aa.png17424367_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_32_29PM.png.17fb4fce6b9b977ecd4e519f0d05d01a.png

They showed a 3D print of the Dragon-Wolf from the Core Set (extras can be purchased via the "Extra Dragons" core sub-set add-on).

682819569_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_33_20PM.png.644b4823ec96a75345d1b961b6514906.png43176226_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_33_50PM.png.1e0d47e4cfedab14dc34c446cb2aa1ae.png1053032968_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_34_18PM.png.6d9e77d31093bf5beda6b433e2246459.png

Then they showed off the (giant?) eel from Dark Depths, both with and without the base.

626068730_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_35_21PM.png.ccbab7594d39355e890b6fdd18190a8a.png644369062_ScreenShot2020-03-08at9_36_39PM.png.f3f3e4b5dc3bf4c60439b4ff186e7bc2.png

The image with the base is not a render of how the two will fit together.  The image sent to Ron just showed the eel floating as a separate image above the base, and Ron photoshopped the eel over the base image (though the eel is supposed to attach to the base in a similar fashion, if you want, is what it sounded like).

Here are the Blood Imps from Fan Favorites.

Then the Mephits from Fan Favorites.  These will be cast in clear translucent plastic.

A new still shot render of the Pirate Ship, showing it from different angles.

They are currently 3D printing the ship, and it should be ready to be shown off late this week (I forget if Reaper Live or Reaperland).

Jason Wiebe sent a "mystery mini" that he's working on sculpting (a spiky turtle shell, it looks like).

Lastly, they showed a 3D print of the Encounters at Gallowgard encounter set (sans the ranger).

Ron did note that they think this volumetric print is "a hair too small," so they are planning to up the size on this a touch (largely to ensure the skeletons' limbs and weapons aren't too thin).  The sense I got was a 5%-10% size increase, though they never stated concrete numbers, that's just the gist I got.

They are also very close to adding images to the Pledge Manager, and plan to do so with the next PM update.  They are just working through a slight issue right now (they attempted it with the Ship image, and the PM software squished and stretched the image into a square, but that was Friday afternoon; right now it appears they got the ship test image working correctly [see below]).  Click on each image, and it brings the below pop-out for the images (the expansions and such that don't yet have images, and just show the text image as the only picture, currently).

They do still plan to have a few more power-ups in PM.  They did add a Base Boss section in the PM (though there is nothing under the section title at the moment).  Ron did say that the next update (on March 20th) should have LOTS of stuff to show off and reveal.

Spelling... the eel is supposed to attach to the base, not attack it...

I'll admit, while it looks cool, I'm a little confused by the Dust Mephit.... Ice, Mud (ooze), Magma, and Smoke are the 4 para-elemental planes.  Dust is one of the Quasi-elemental planes.  Are there also plans for the other 7 quasi's?  that's a ton of Mephits.....

I couldn't quite figure it out, or find an answer, but I feel like it HAS been asked before - do we have any idea of how the 5 big Chromatic Dragons in Bones 5 are going to compare to the existing dragons in the Bones line currently? Are they intended to be a different "size class", or are all dragons essentially just big boys? Thinking of getting some of the existing dragons to get some practice in, and thinking it might be more valuable to have different sizes.

They all seem to roughly have about a 3" diameter base, but take it up so much that they'd all reasonably be comfortable mounted on a 4" base. In 3.x/Pathfinder1 terms, they all appear to be trending towards "gargantuan" sized dragons.

The D&D 5e Monster Manual has six mephits, each representing two of the four elements.  Dust, Ice, Mud, Magma, Smoke, and Steam.  I expect they figure Smoke and Steam can be the same figure, just painted differently.

As for what that represents in terms of the old 2.5e-3.5e cosmology....dunno.  Meaning no disrespect, but that cosmology got a bit...odd over the years.  Very particular.  Hard to adapt to different stories.

I'm honestly not fond of the beaky nose and chin of these mephits, but it does match the art in the 5e MM very closely.  Dangerously closely, seems to me, but copyright is weird and lawyerly, so what do I know.  I think these guys should do fine.

I just got a big bonus check from work, plus our tax refund came recently.  I was so impressed with the renders for the dwarven expansion and the humongous spider I had to add those, plus a few other things also fell into the cart...

A late update from last week's Reaper Live.  Trenchworks is in the midst of 3D printing the Pirate Ship.  It was not yet completed, but they had some in-progress photos.

This is the fore and aft sections of the main deck (the middle parts weren't done printing), the aft section being what would be the cabin space underneath the poop decks, and the fore and aft sections of the middle deck (the hold) of the ship.  The bottom (the bilge) hadn't been printed at all, yet.  I think they are spaced out to show the full dimension of the ship, but cannot confirm.

FYI - That gray figure standing between the masts is one of the Reaper Bones Fire Giants, so you have an idea of scale with something you might already have in hand.

Additionally, that white dragon is the same one they had displayed on the table during the show, to help give a sense of the scale.

I own that dragon. That's T'Raukzul. He's enormous. Mine's based on something like a 10" round base...
