Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

In today's Bones 5 Live update bi-weekly stream, they showed off some 3d sculpts of the Rakshasas.  I was having computer issues, so missed part of this show-off, so I don't know if these are final or not (I'm assuming they are WIPs).  Someone in the twitch chat was able to confirm that they are putting BOTH Rakshasas into the Fan Favorites expansion.

They showed off the finished set of the Slythe from Dark Depths.  There was a front shot, too, but I missed it.

And some female pirates from Brinewind (?)

Jason Wiebe is working on the Sea Giant.  They showed a Work in Progress, upon which he had placed a funny set of accoutrements to hide his nether regions...

Then as a joke he had also sent in a WIP of a misheard "siege giant" assignment.

Michael Proctor had a few models he was painting to show off...

... and a model he was about to start painting (I include because it's useful to see the War Mammoth in someones hands, I think).

Also, last time (2 weeks ago?) they mentioned that (about a day after my post that the Pirate Ship should be in hand by the next week...), well, that was when COVID-19 really took off, and also Trenchworks' location had an earthquake that weekend.  Nothing has been said about getting the pirate ship 3d print in-hand since then, as far as I know.

Thanks for the update! I stopped watching the Reaperlive’s a long while back. I really need to log back onto the pledge manager and see how I left things and then start moving around money. It looks like I might double the $600 I initially put down as my pledge bc there’s just so much goodness. It’s just hard to get excited and then balance the reality of, will I ever really paint those...even if I had infinite time.

The first is hysterical, but now I kind of want to see the Siege Giant completed.

Of the standard update, the Teddy Bear on the Three-Headed Troll is great:

Still not getting the Chronoscope expansion, but re-sculpted Decker Lugstampf is awesome!

Agreed, and I want to get it so bad just for the Nightgaunt!!! But Decker is amazing!

I will say, while the new Decker is great, the original reminded me of Doctor Robotnik and this appears to have lost that aspect.

He reminds me of Alexei Luthor from the comic "Elseworld's Finest"

Adam Talking Superman on Twitter: "Just read “Elseworld's Finest ...

(He was a Steampunk pirate with a robot hand in that, it's just hard to find a shot of him with any gadgets)

Came back here to see if people were already gushing about the bigger henchwoman. I love her.

I haven't looked at the pledge manager in a while - specifically decided to let it rest before revisiting what I actually want to get. But I know in my heart of hearts there are way too many good figures. Maybe I'll wait until everything is done and the graphics are ready, but by then... I'll want... everything.

That Demogorgon might be my favorite to date. I hope the stuff gets here before I need him for my campaign. The cockatrice are also great, I always love it when they make those kinds of enemies in multiple poses.

And, ofc, I'm also elated we're getting a full pack of awesome henchwomen. The lady with the shield and morningstar is ofc a stand out, but they're all dressed and posed for the job and that's great.

Absolutely. I'm most drawn to the "useable" figures like that, which is why the encounters are so nice! They're absolutely meant to be little scenes that would make for good diorama's, but they're a great spread of figures for a D&D combat too.

I'm well aware most of these figures probably won't end up making contact my gaming table, but I'm still debating useability with my potential choices... "if I get those ocean-themed expansions, I may end up writing an ocean-themed campaign, and then I may need the ship anyway, so I might as well..."
