Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Apparently today's that kind of day where I think about Otterfolk.

Will I be able to introduce Otterfolk as a core race in this ocean campaign that Bones 5 is leading me towards? Will Reaper have to make a full Otterfolk-themed expansion for Bones 6? And what about those Axolotl adventurers, will they also be limited to just those three incredibly cute figures? Will I forever only be able to have three NPCs of each of these incredibly crucial races?! What about Otterfolk clerics? Otterfolk construction workers building a dam? Otterfolk barbarians?! Otterfolk doxies?! Never mind, forget I said that last one!

In addition to all that; I'm still not all that keen on the Mandupar Pass encounter, but for some reason that dwarf Sherpa really appeals to me. Worth waiting a few years.

I wish you could get that Beastman Shaman separately, guess he'll have to go on my retail release wish-list.

I also, somehow, didn't realise the Earth Scion was female.

That’s how I feel about the Dark Depths; I really just want the not-sahuagin and will pick them up retail. I also want a couple Nightgaunts from Chronoscope. Don’t really want anything from Brinewind.

I didn't realize the Earth Scion was female, either. It's not nearly so clear from the concept art.

I can't imagine not wanting Brinewind, and I've never run an ocean-based campaign in my life...

I wasn't very interested in Brinewind for a while. I can't really put my finger on why, it just didn't grab me.

But then my daughter saw the anthro pirates and our financial picture changed with my son no longer in daycare, so now we have it.

Do you guys think I could get half my money back selling the Chronoscope zombies and trailer? I have NO use for them and hate spending $50 just on the redone minis and robots...

I think a lot of that depends on how big that trailer ends up being.  With Reaper's quirky sizing of Kickstarter minis, there's no way to tell if it will end up being like the oversized Warchief Mumlak, or the diminutive Runehorn Hut...

It would be nice if we got a preview of it at some point.

As a person that was disappointed on a few sizes from the last KS, I definitely can see why people NEED to see sizes before ordering. (& of course assurance, the size will stay the same when it finally reaches the people).

I think both Brinewind sets and the pirate ship were the first non-Core sets we grabbed.

Sort of the same way I immediately latched onto Dreadmere. ::):

Which reminds me - is the Dreadmere book still on the table?

The Auld Grump - heck, I'd back a Reaper Dreadmere Patreon.... :;,;:

You’ve got plenty of time for us to talk you into more spending.

The update today says it fits on a 3 inch base, so I’d assume it’s about the same bulk as a one of the fire giants from Bones 4 with a tail thrown on.

finally !   well 3" base is just too small for me.  I was hoping something more like Cthulhu.

but from the price I doubted that would happen.

If the PM closed to day I would be satisfied with my order. I mean sure I would love to drop another 80$ on expansions and dragons but all the must-haves are taken care of.

Count them and put a reasonable price on them compared to what's in the store right now.

Compare that trailer to a dumpster/shipping container model.

See what you come up with and you'll have your answer.

Granted, it was a painted 3D print of it, but they did show the Chronoscope airstream trailer on an episode of Reaper Live.  Let me go dig through my screenshots...

Life finally calmed down enough that I was able to make my first big order from the pledge manager.  Aside from ordering stuff for a friend, plus my own Core set and Shadows of Ravenhome, I hadn't been able to drop my budgeted amount into the PM each month, thanks to things like replacing hot water heaters, etc.  I was finally able to get at least one of everything I want from the KS (though I'll continue to drop money in each month to double and triple up on some things).

The second pirate ship is for a friend, but one of them will me mine!  So excited.  I bought a year's worth of out-of-print Dungeon Magazines after the Pirate Ship was revealed, so I can someday run the Savage Tide adventure path.  It'll be great.
