Every time I look at my display cabinets, with mostly Bones 4 stuff sitting proud on there (Mostly painted, even!), I get this anxiety of where in hell I'm gonna let the Bones 5 stuff sit.

A feeling best described as a "What have I done?" state.

When I read this thread and see all the love for the products, it reassures me that bones 5 is gonna be amazing.

But still, my display area keeps yelping out to me!

Anyone recognize this mixed feeling aswell? :p

Yeah. I just finished painting Bones 4's Roc, and I have no idea where it's going to be placed now that it's done...

I was in this exact predicament until a month or so ago when I fortunately acquired some new display cabinets.  Still, a lot of my older stuff is in foam-boxes or tucked away in a re-purposed CD-rack.  I figure I'll just keep cycling my favorites through display and finding/making more storage for the less-worthy.

Good thing about buying too many minis, is that I can't paint them fast enough to really be a problem.  unpainted can stay in boxes of shame.

Oh yes. My Ma'al has been in it's box since it arrived. I actually just put it in storage, because I know that:

1. I have no where to put it when built right now

2. I'll have no time to work on it in the next year

3. Bones 5, and all of its dragons are coming

4. Where am I gonna fit everything I ordered???

Good to see I'm not alone. I have the luxury my wife wanted a big display / closet wall in our living room (which has 4 blocks of display cabinets), and supports the hobby meaning 2 are dedicated to miniatures (3 shelves per cabinet).

Still though! I can fit a few more big beasts in there, then it'll be full already :o

Still...... can't wait for Bones 5! :3 <3

Finally pictures of the trebuchet, with Sir Garrick the Bold.

Ron noted that the trebuchet comes with 5 shields (you see them mounted on the side, there).  The shields are separate pieces, and you can mount them anywhere you wish.

Those would be interesting to mount with neodymium magnets, so you could swap out heraldic shield designs that you paint on them.

The shields seem a bit too large in comparison to Sir Forscale, but I know he runs a little small in comparison to many of Reaper’s human figures. Could be fodder for kit-bashing a shield onto another mini.

I do have to say that the render did not do the trebuchet justice. I had curtailed my planned trebuchet purchases in favor of more ballistae.  I will have to order a few more trebuchets, now.

@Reaper_Jon when you get a chance, can we get a picture of the new Bones 5 Goroloth on a 1" gridded cutting mat or something?  I was hunting down pics to show someone on another forum the scale of the new Goroloth (which was advertised as being on a 3" base) and now I have concerns that there has been a bait-and-switch on the size of this mini.  There is a picture in the Pledge Manager that has Sir Forscale, but the image has been manipulated to remove the background, and I'm not 100% sure that Garrick the bold was actually in the picture, showing scale, or was photoshopped in later (and thus the apparent scale is off).

Here is the Kickstarter stretch goal listing, clearly labeling the Goroloth as being on a 3" base...

But here is the picture from the pledge manager, overlaid on my own picture of Garrick the Bold on a 1" gridded play mat.  I scaled the Garricks to the same size as best I could.

Has the Bones 5 Goroloth been shrunk to a 2" base?

I really hope you haven't deceived us on its size.  I was just about to put in an order for several more, now that the new D&D set's is only on a 2" base.

@ksbsnowowl - We are not deceiving or "baiting and switching" anything, i just went and checked with Ron and he pulled up the Pre-Form print file for the model and it is on a 75MM 3" base just to double check.
The model that was used in the update pics was the only test print we had in the factory at the time and we wanted to put something physical up. when this test print was printed, it was done on a 50mm base. But looking at the files that were sent we double checked that it was the 75mm base in the file. So if anything changes otherwise we will notify.

Awesome. Thank you!

Sorry for the strong phrasing. In the moment I was a touch hot under the collar. My apologies.

I know several folks who will be quite happy about the 3” Goroloth, myself included.

Thanks again. You guys really are awesome.

Other than the gorgeous paint jobs, that was an extremely underwhelming update. Hopefully it's a fluke.

I don't disagree, but I've found that tends to be the case as we get closer to production.  So much stuff has gotten shown off already!

I can also confirm that the files I sent to Reaper were scaled to a 75mm Base.  Here is the complete creation story, where you can read that it was always meant for a 3 in base.  I am glad that you like it. ::D:

The Storm Giant is a bigger dude than I thought he'd be.

He might actually be too big for my display cabinet.

hes around 5-5.5 inches tall. an inch+ shorter than the wizkids and gf9 official storm giants.

must be a small cabinet :D
