Is there a time off year the launch of bones KS happens?

And I JUST shut down my computer and therefore cannot get to my note with all this info. I'll share it tomorrow, but the basis of what I can remember is this; A Bones Kickstarter campaign runs for approximately a month somewhere in the Aug-Oct range, and then spends a little over a year in post-production until fulfilling in the Feb-Apr range. After fulfillment in spring, they take the summer off and launch a new one in the fall of the same year; I think we can expect Bones 6 (which I believe was confirmed in one of the twitch streams?) somewhere around September - November 2021, unless something changes.

Yes, PhantomAsh has it right I think.  It seems they have settled into a routine of using ReaperCon on Labor Day weekend to act as a showcase/teaser/pre-launch event to show off examples of figures that will be in the Kickstarter and build excitement, then actually launching it shortly after.  Then delivering in the Spring 18 months later, and repeating the process when late Summer rolls around again.

You know, I wanted to originally say 18 months and then I didn't, but yes - you're absolutely right that it seems to be about a year and a half later, vs just a year.

A few things - 'last post' refers to the last date a Kickstarter post was made that wasn't related to the announcements of new Kickstarters. 'Next Announced' refers to the next Bones Kickstarter - I didn't pull data for CAV/base bosses. Fulfillment is also based off Kickstarter posts and not any Twitch/official announcements.

So statistically, they have leaned more towards July/August than October, so possibly we'll see Bones 6 sooner (especially if they are on track to fulfil for April), but my gut says they may push B6 back and I think Chris Palmer's comment about involving ReaperCon is accurate. Bones 2 came in after ReaperCon, Bones 1 & 4 finished just before, and Bones 5 matched B2 in being after. The exception is Bones 3, which was also just two weeks long in the summer anyway and given it was the 'least' successful one, probably isn't going to be used as a model anytime soon. Also how tf did Bones 1 fulfil in less than a year? That's so short.

Were I to place bets, I'd say maaayybbee we're looking at August again at the earliest, or more possibly September. Maybe November - asides from Bones 3, all the Kickstarters started at least a month 'later' than the previous ones.

With the growth of ReaperCon the last 4 years, it generally takes all their time in the Spring and Summer.. then they take a couple weeks to recover then launch

Have they confirmed a physical ReaperCon for 2021?

AS of ReaperLive a couple weeks ago they are.  Obviously no one really knows where we will be at vaccine or virus wise come September..  Even with a virtual ReaperCon they had a lot to do last summer to get ready so October would make sense for a Bones 6 launch.

RVE is in March, followed by Bones 5 fulfillment in April/May followed by RCon planning/execution so October would be the next logical 'slower' period.  Based on their overall growth as a company, they don't really have slow periods anymore.

From an outside prospective, this was my assumption too. I didn't back the other kickstarters, but I followed along a little and have been looking back quite a bit and it's obvious there's a massive amount of physical build-up to distribution. Assuming once fulfillment is done, they need to tear everything down, then move to RCon mode, have RCon, wrap up any afterdetails of that, and then finalize Kickstarter plans - yeah, October would make the most sense.

You've really got to give them props for doing all this so well. In the before times, I vendor'd at a lot of comic book conventions and fan expos and even THAT was stressful. xD Regularly launching Kickstarter campaigns AND running conventions every year??? I mean, honestly sounds like a lot of fun but also a lot of work. That's a full schedule the whole year. Hopefully they'll be able to do a physical one this/near year (hopefully most conventions can) - I live in Canada and admittedly won't be travelling anytime soon but I would like to attend a ReaperCon at some point ::P:

I'm already looking forward to a bones 6

I have been finding myself in this same position!  I've had my Bones 5 order pretty much finalized for awhile now.  Might still add some extra bases before it closes, but I find myself yearning for a fresh new set to start blowing my money on.  Hopefully I'll get my new position at work so I can actually afford to spend as much as I spent on this last one.

Also hoping we get to see more themed sets with influence from other ancient cultures.  I'm wishing for Arabian, Egyptian, and Nordic myself.  I've got enough Medieval Europe at this point.

Yes, please! A Norse-themed expansion would be my ultimate dream. If Reaper could make a longship, too, I’d max out the number I could buy of both. Something like a 15” long by 3” wide longship would be amazing. Maybe in the $25 add-on range?

And might I add Meso-American, Indian ( from India, to be clear!), Dark Africa and Korea, China etc ( not the common Japanese Samurai ? Ninja stuff)

Just to add as its not model related,  i wouldnt be surprised if reaper adds the Vex airbrush set as a special goal in Bones 6 (ie. if we reach 2.5 million, you can buy the vex for 25% off type thing).  just a guess.

back to 5.  for those getting multiple ships, is anyone going to modify them?  i would have been interested if ship was something unique like the Silent Mary that expanded in the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean film...

or a spelljammer, like monarch butterfly ship hehehe.   even for me, that would be way too much work to be worth the effort and im stupid/insane with some of the stuff ive attempted...
