After making yet another "last" purchase, I decided to tally up everything I'm getting and if you count terrain/set pieces as minis.... apparently I am now in for over 450 miniatures. At this point, anything that was on my maybe list is gone, or so low on the priority list it's unlikely to be bought (are the dino adventurers cool? Yes. Am I probably ever going to use them? No. And so on and so forth.)

Revised list of purchases;

  • Bones 5 Core Set
    • Extra Kobold Swarm x2
    • Extra Gem Dragon
    • Extra Zombies x2
    • Extra Wraith Dreadnights x2
  • Expansion: Dungeon Dwellers x2
  • Expansion: Greek Odyssey
  • Expansion Fan Favourites
    • Encounter - Charnel Pit of the Ghoul Queen
    • Encounter - Shadows of Ravenhome
  • Option: Valfuryx the Vile, Huge Dragon
  • Option: Aganzarax the Foul, Huge Dragon
  • Option: Shavynra the Slayer, Huge Dragon
  • Option: Ildraedis the Devourer, Huge Dragon
  • Option: Krateryx, Shadow Dragon
  • Option: Arakoth the Ancient, Colossal Spider
  • Option: Kalanzar the Wicked
  • Option: Goroloth
  • Option: Storm Giant
  • Option: Elemental Scions
  • Option: Dragon Folk Adventurers
  • Option: Rune Wights
  • Option: Henchmen and Hirelings
  • Option: Townsfolk
    • Power Up: Disapproving Hand Spell Effect
    • Power Up: Nathavarr the Ravenous, Dragon
    • Power Up: Demonic Legion
    • Power Up: Henchwomen

457 in total, to be exact, not including bases or the dice set. I loosely counted about 27 spell effects, armoury and terrain pieces, so that's an even 430 miniatures. Now just to large up which are regular sized and which are oversized.......

That's allot of villagers!!

Oh noooo, couldn’t just leave it at the villagers...had to add Brinewind, some more catapults and ballista, more thorn walls, the shadow dragon, and I can’t remember what else.

Brinewind and Chronoscope expansions are turned off, as well as the other items mentioned in Friday’s update (townsfolk, demonic legions, beastmen; Sirens is still available).

I had been waffling on getting Chronoscope. I guess Reaper made the decision for me. ::P: It’s okay; I’ve already spent WAY too much in the PM.

I wonder why these ones specifically, since they mentioned Dungeon Dwellers and Greek Odyssey/Dark Depths were the most popular? I suppose maybe they gave lower production numbers for BW and CS and then just got closer to hitting their inventory sooner with those ones.

Beastmen was one of the ones I was going back and forth on and I am not sure if I am disappointed I didn't get them. I liked the idea of them, but both groups felt too small to be units on their own - like I'd have to have bought two lots to make encounters worth running. Demonic Legion, on the other hand, was perfect for an encounter all on its own.

That’s my guess.

Agreed on the Beastmen and Demonic Legions. DL was a killer deal; I ended up getting 4 copies of it (they are great proxies for Tanarukk, which are integral to my home brew campaign setting). I did get one Beastmen add-on early, but ended up adding a second one last week. That set would have been a lot better if they’d chosen something other than wererats to pair the new Warhammer-ish goat men sculpts with.

I recently learned of Reaper’s Goat Demons (SKU 06182) and I think those would have been a much better pairing with the new digital sculpts. I know I would have bought more of them if that had been the case.

Honestly if both the Beastmen sets had been split into two sets - even with less figures! - with something other than what they were with, I probably would have gone in for both. I looked up the goat demons and those are awesome; I'd have totally bought a set of those + the new sculpts, and like... a set of the wererats plus maybe the Giant Ratman (02761) too. Even if that would have been $12 each, I would have felt better getting two distinct sets vs two duplicates of one set. The set as it was felt just a bit incomplete.

That being said, considering they were in round two (three?) of the shutoffs, I guess a lot of people still bought them anyway ::P: so perhaps we are in a minority.

I'm sure this has been made clear a thousand times already,  but do we know if Aganzarax separates from his scenic base, or are they one piece? Haven't had a chance to watch the latest Twitch.

I am 98% sure they said the dragons come separate from their bases and we would have to glue them on ourselves.

at the size the dragons are, i'm willing to be that's how it'll be. things that big usually do not come in one piece, at least not inside the kickstarter boxes

for example Goremaw, who is now one piece but came in pieces for the kickstarter
