Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Recommended Posts

Since this is my first Bones participation, i has a question on deliveries.

What does the delivery process look like?  I imagine it's going i be pretty much on time for April (praying for earlier).  Once the packing begins, is there anything we'll be notified of? Do we get tracking numbers once it's shipped or are there? Is there any chance we'll have to pay more than what we already paid for?  Lastly, for those of us with big shipments, basically all of us, is this one giant box or multiple boxes expected?

I totally agree with you in that those particular exaggerations are not very realistic in function. This was a challenging character/figure to create because I wanted her to read as feminine but als

If it is anything like Bones 3 and 4, firstly they will have a webcam set up on twitch as well as a website showing them packing things up (twitch) and showing where and what group they are shipping to. @Reaper_JonCan you verify if this is happening this time?

You should get a notification from the same email (robots reaper email) you get when a regular shipment is on it's way to you.

You will not be charged more UNLESS possibly you have moved. (Jon please verify)

OH YAH! it's ONE huge box! My youngest was able to close the lid on himself it was so big:) You want to see my unboxing from 4, it's over on youtube:)

Yes we plan to have multiple cameras set up and a interactive watch along with what orders are being pulled, and where they are going ETC. what wave we are on and all that.

The best thing in past years has been the shipping tracker website which posts the current wave that’s being worked on and the latest city to receive postage for a shipment.  People have been know to camp on their computer for hours waiting to see their town flash on the screen!

It's addictive!

EDIT: Ha! The Bones 4 one is still up!  it shows how many orders were shipped that day and how many orders are remaining as well!

@Reaper_Joni don't know how you're juggling the workload and being in here simultaneously to satisfy the customers, but it's truly amazing. You never say more than you need and you keep the answers concise without vagueness.  Your work (and the team's, but to mention the community support) is appreciated.

Also - I'm so excited.  And i just can't hide it.  I'm about to lose control and i think i like it.

Yes it takes into account whatever address is in the Reaper Pledge manager, so if you are moving i would change it before we start shipping!

What until it actually starts if you want to see mass excitement around here.

And then when Wave 1 folks start receiving their boxes, and posting photos of the stuff and unboxing videos!

Be careful getting too excited now or your head might explode later!

@Chris Palmer oh don't you worry.   I already laid down tarps and plastic shielding in the office for any possible splatter, shrapnel, or other body functions that may prove too much to control.  It basically looks like a Dexter kill room in here.  I've warned all family members that i might be on edge for 3 months.

I've bought Depends and wet wipes. I'm as ready as i can be.

Let's do this!

Out of curiosity, if you bought, say, one of everything, how much glue are you going to run through?

(Edited to add: Cannot believe that *this* is what finally got me curious enough to stop lurking...smh.)

I would just start with what you've got laying around the house.

If none, go to the store and get one.  You can always go back if you need more, and you may not want to assemble everything in one shot.  Painting can sometimes become more difficult once the model is fully attached.

Hard to say.

In the past, many of the KS minis were already glued and assembled. After much demand, they don't come pre-assembled (as often), so you would need some glue. Now cyanoacrylate "super" glue is standard use; but it's pretty well known that any tube can go bad quickly when not used. So how fast you assemble your stuff will have an impact on how much glue you use. And at the same time, many models don't require any assembly at all.

Then comes whatever modding or basing you wish to add, which is its own thing.

I keep it simple and leave my Bones in their baggies until I use them, so I only glue them when the time comes. How much glue I'll be using is a mystery even to myself.

P.S. Welcome to the forum!

I'm happy to see they've launched a 2nd KS, as I missed out on the first one.
Here's the blurb from the Kickstarter, which is live and already funded here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/292543184/wallhalla-2/description

Hey, everyone! We're Ill Gotten Games, and we're back for another round of Wallhalla, the modular, 3d printable miniature display shelves!
We're kicking this new series off with a Dangerous Dungeon theme that comes in two available styles:

Classic: (left) the original format found in Series 1, optimized for miniature display. Classic shelf units also include versions with recesses for standard round bases (20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, and 70mm).
Wall Sprawl: a new, terrain-style take that lets you build vertical dungeons and play on your wall space! (It works great as a display as well, especially if you want even more of a diorama look.)
Both of these sets are 100% compatible with one another and with any of the sets from Series 1. This campaign is for digital STL files, not finished, physical products, and you'll need access to a 3d printer to make them. All of our Wallhalla designs:
print 100% support free and are optimized for FDM machines!
assemble with durable, built-in slide-fit connectors, and don't require glue!
can be configured (and reconfigured) into whatever build suits your fancy!
      are easy to paint!

A new Kickstarter that may otherwise go under your radar.

      Very entertaining 70’s/80’s nostalgia aesthetics.

I barely received my last campaign pledge from Midlam that already it has something that caught my interest.

Sisters of the Kraken Cult. The female counterparts of the previous "Onslaught of the Cult of the Kraken Lord" and "Cultists of the Kraken Lord". (I now have some regret of not getting it)

What's also interesting is the optional add-on of fish folk.

Brinewind is going to have some interesting neighbors.

      RPG Sidequest Decks

Ending soon. Card decks, each with a side quest. Pretty straightforward.

Been watching the previews for this on Bold's Instagram,  Some crazy cute models, this time sculpted by  Ismael Nieto.  I'm particularly fond of Bisa and Tori, the winners of the dino race, and the BatPacker is too cute.  Resin cast and STL like their last several releases.  I've picked up their STLs before and been very happy, Planning to try to swing for at least one in resin this time, though shipping from Sweden hurts.
