I'm going to paint the head, neck and leading edge of the wings of the other one to try and make it look like he's materializing out of the shadows. Should be fun!

I want to paint all of him except for his eyes and the inside of the mouth and have them glow eerily from within.
Sirithiliel
I have assigned mine colors too The 'black' is going to be a iridescent oil spill color scheme, so black with oily iridescence. Should be interesting to paint The 'red' may end up red for real, or maybe gold. Not sure The 'blue' is going to be earthy brown tones, and wingless The 'white' is going to possibly be blue The 'green' is going to be baby alligator hues if warm Amber's, golds, greens and striping Shadow dragon...I dunno yet
PhantomAsh
I'm liking this idea to put LEDs in the shadow dragon. Not sure I could pull it off though myself :p Colourwise for dragons; I haven't decided on all of them, but I definitely want to do a dark green/black swamp combo for the green, and do a pink/albino base for the white. Not sure about the others though
ksbsnowowl
As I bought mini’s primarily for playing D&D, I will be keeping to the traditional colors, but as I got three of each of those (save the white; only 2 of him), I will play around with different hues and skin patterns. For example, I plan to paint up one of the Aganzarax models using a lot of Coal Black, rather than in flat blacks and dark grays. One shadow dragon will be washed/inked & drybrushed, one probably just washed, and one I’ll attempt a transition to solid, like others have mentioned.
Venun
For colors I aim to stick to the proper ones, but i think my Shadow dragon will be the black one (not sure yet if it'll be inks and drybrush, or some parts of it and others painted thicker). The "black dragon" from the picture is so incredibly fey in my views, i was thinking to aim it towards a Faerie Dragon. Something like this paintwise

You'd never even see it. "Look at my work, everyone" ... crickets. It'd be like making a tree camouflaged colors in a forest setting. It'd be like a trap door spider you detailed, but covered it under the trap door. It'd be like... Real real black. I guess the eyes would look cool though. 1

Though it does mention having much lower viscosity than regular acrylic paints; acrylic paints come in tons of different viscosity levels. And adding any other medium to it might ruin its properties of super black. But I've seen enough examples of super black paints to think it's more of a novelty paint when it comes to minis.
DragonWyrm
Super black paint seems as good idea to put under the hood of miniature, at least that is what I think given the fragility of the paint layer. Maybe colouring in eyes or inking in carved writing could work. As long as it is used in the recesses of the miniature. Actually it could work for a really fun lantern/flame. Imagine a henchman painted in monotone with the lantern having a super black paint for the light location. You could add some colours on the opposite side of the mini, making it look as if life and joy where slowly being drained by the cursed lantern.

haldir
In a future adventure, the PCs meet & eventually will fight a corrupted unicorn champion & I thought of getting black 3.0 & painting it up, but the price is too high for what I want to pay for paint (25 + shipping + waiting). Too bad they didn't offer samplers as I'm not sure what I'd like to use the stuff besides the one mini.

I want to leave most of the translucent plastic untouched except the lining so I can also put it on an LED base to light the whole thing from below. "...conductive paint...?" I know some companies make magnetic switch LEDs. Might look into one of those in the Shadow Dragon's head. We'll see how creative I feel like being when I get him...
