Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

It's interesting... I'm actually not super enthusiastic about Bones 5 (or 6 for that matter) at the moment. Which is weird, cause I'm still looking forward to a lot of the minis, but... Maybe after we move, and have a slightly bigger space? Just feeling really cramped right now.

I'm kind of looking forward to it, but I suspect excitement will ramp up once we start getting tracker notifications and whatnot (or at least orders being picked and packed).

My biggest curiosity is just how small of a box they'll be able to stuff all my things into!

something i drew many many many years ago   seems fitting

I totally agree with you in that those particular exaggerations are not very realistic in function. This was a challenging character/figure to create because I wanted her to read as feminine but als

That's one of the downsides of Kickstarters for me, the long waiting period just kills my enthusiasm.

I'll be excited for my Bones 5 stuff when it arrives, but at the moment there's newer, shinier stuff that's got my attention.

Still following this closely, but it's a protection for myself to not get over excited, I'm expecting at least a few months delay. if it doesn't happen, then great! But June is what I'm aiming for to hopefully unpack the bigass box that's coming over to my house.

Also the fact that real life D&D is not "on the table" at this point (pun intended, obviously), kills some drive to paint. Still painting, but less and slower!

This, 100%. I haven't played my "regular" Pathfinder game for over a year, so a lot of the things that I might have been eager to do with my campaign and miniatures have just withered on the vine.

I still have 3 dnd groups that get together regularly, all different people.

Still painting like a fiend and not making enough time to post pics. I need to do that.

You're lucky. My gaming group was having a few attendance issues due to one player's emotional baggage even before 2020, and we last met right around Christmas 2019. Then our first few sessions in 2020 were cancelled due to her issues, and then COVID, and we've only seen each other as a group about 3 times since then. I don't know when we'll be resuming the campaign. I'm of half a mind to just start with a new campaign when we are able to resume, but they all want to just try and speed through the "boss levels" and get done with it instead.

I have been painting regularly, but really missing getting to use minis in my games. I bought a ton of models for the end a a significant part of my campaign, then Covid reared it’s nasty head again and we had to go back to playing virtually. It just isn’t the same.

I’m excited, just not much new to talk about at the moment (the bi-weekly updates have been sparse on new info, but that’s just the nature of the beast right now).

I've been unfortunate enough to be a “COVID Long-Hauler,” and have developed chronic fatigue syndrome, so my ability to do much of anything has been severely curtailed. Bones 5 will be a lifetime of painting fodder in my current state (won’t stop me from backing Bones 6, though). But, that’s why I’m setting up an airbrush (last piece, the compressor, is on order and in the mail). The paint jobs may end up simpler than I had originally imagined, but I’ll be able to at least get them on the table with some color.

We paused live gaming last spring, and at points over the summer when some of us had been exposed (we actually never spread it amongst ourselves), but have been gaming in-person since August, as my preparedness and energy levels allowed. I did eventually come to terms with the fact I couldn’t handle running a high level game at the moment, so we had to put our long-running Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign on hiatus while I continue to recover; we had just started the final installment of the adventure path, too. <_<::(:

Started a new short-term campaign at first level, running The Sunless Citadel for now, as that’s about what I can handle at the moment. I’ve run it before, so there’s almost zero prep work required.

Over the next two months or so, I’m hoping to get my airbrush up and running, and practice with it a fair bit with models I don’t much care about (Bonesylvania Chibi mini’s sent in my 2019 Christmas paints pistol case, etc.), so I’m ready to hit the ground running once Bones 5 arrives.

Slow and steady, and a few good days, will win the race.

Whew, I gotta stop reading the KS comments. The utter helplessness of people being unable to make purchases correctly is mind boggling. It’s like people have never used the internet to purchase items before! I wouldn’t have what it takes to work Reaper’s customer service that’s for sure!

I stopped looking as soon as the kickstarter ended and I didn't need to post the stats. I learned after the first couple of kickstarters that it just is not worth it.

Looking quite good! I'm backing for the character set.

Wellcome to our biggest miniatures ever! Blood and Skulls ork rider is the largest and more detailed miniature in 70 mm scale that Nocturna models released in all of these years. This project is really monstruous and we need your help to fund it.
Take a look at all the figures in the campaign, all of them are in 70 mm scale. Blood and Skulls is 28 cm high!
        28 cm total size

I've bought everything this company has put out so far.  I'll probably pick up these two as well.  Really great figures based on classic artwork.

These two are both nude, so I can't show pictures here!

"The muses" is a range of miniatures offered by Golem Miniatures.
These 80 mm scale figures, in limited edition, will all come from realistic and oriental paintings of great painters of the nineteenth, a period that we greatly love.
During the fourth campaign "The muses", we had suggested that you submit ideas for the next muses. A vote had then been put in place to decide between the 27 muses that you had selected.
One muse dominated this vote: "La boîte à bijoux" painted by Guillaume Seignac.
To accompany it, a second muse has been chosen on the same theme: "human skin on animal skin". You will discover it below, hoping she inspires you! :)

During the third Muses campaign, we produced the magnificent Lady Godiva painted by John Collier, a famous English painter and one of the founders of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
Here is another of his works: "Lilith" painted in 1889.
Lilith is a mythical Hebrew and Biblical figure (Adam's first wife), whom some see as the very first portrayal of feminism in history.

      Story
I'm Adam Sadler, senior game designer at Blacklist Games, and I love miniatures. They are what got my brother Brady and me into the hobby back when we were teenagers. Whether we’re using them in roleplaying games, board games, or tabletop miniatures games, we love collecting, assembling, painting, and playing with them. While Blacklist Games has published several of our games that feature miniatures, they saw our passion could be used for the creation of a new division that would focus solely on miniatures and allow for company growth in parallel with creating great board games. With everyone at the company excited about the possibility of this new division, here we are to share it with you!
Blacklist Miniatures will focus entirely on producing high quality, highly detailed, pre-assembled plastic miniatures to be used in any type of game. Blacklist Miniatures: Fantasy Series 1, our first miniatures line, is not only a celebration of our love for miniatures, but also of all things fantasy.
With your support, this campaign will not only bring this project to life, but also open the door to other lines of miniatures in various genres and even new games to utilize them!

First time posting a KS thread.  Tribality is releasing a companion book to their previous KS "Seas of Vodari."  I thoroughly enjoyed the previous book and have been looking forward to this one.
As this is the first time I'm posting a KS thread, please feel free to let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

I think that's enough for context.  The rest can be found on the KS page.
