Demiosfire
I’m taking classes right now at RVE. And getting so excited to apply things I’m learning to the miniatures I’ll be getting. I might try to OSL one of the dragons! Thank you Reaper for making the waiting more painful!
R2ED
I missed the Friday update. Was there anything in there worth getting totally stoked about? Also, loving the RVE classes! Edited March 7, 2021 by R2ED

Also, loving the RVE classes! I don’t think they had one. They’re busy with RVE, and there’s really no info to update us on. Basically the containers of Bones 5 are stuck in the dock slip backlog flotilla. 2

The goal would just be go colorful, bright and flashy like Lisa frank's art. Using a traditional animal she has used (leopard, dolphin, horse, tiger etc) or something out of the box i'll be doing the giant spider for sure. Yes!!! 11
haldir
My group dreaded when I dropped the huge base Bones spider down a couple weeks ago. I for one, can't wait to see their reactions when I plunk this sucker down. Awesome job, TS!! 4 1

I designed it so you can have it on the base, make your own, or use it without a base (though the weight of the body will likely cause it to sink a bit until the abdomen touches the table, about 5mm. On the stair base, the abdomen is supported by a rock. I plan on magnetizing my abdomen top so it is a box to protect my lucky d20 (Yes, I purposefully sized the hollow in it for that purpose. Hopefully, it is still there and all after it comes back from China; they often change the fit-ups and stuff like that). 7
Thoramel
I picked up 3 of those spiders. One to torment my players with, one to go crazy and paint weird patterns on, and one is just getting a quick paint job and mailed in a plain box to my arachnophobic sister. I sent her one of the smaller wizkids phase spiders a while back and the screaming telephone call was the best. Can't wait to see what happens when she gets this. It's so much more intimidating. Love it. 2 12

Sanjay While those are both good ideas there is a pretty decent chance the entire box will get thrown directly at a wall a split second after being opened, and the model smashed to bits. So with that in mind the durability and inexpensiveness of bones really makes the bones 5 spiders the best choice for pranking your sister. I discussed this with my wife last night and we agreed we'll have to select some quality packing material in case this happens. I was thinking something soft to protect the spider. But my lovely wife suggested we get a couple of bags of those little spider rings you see at Halloween, cut them off the ring bit, and pack it in those. That way when she inevitably sends it flying to get it away from her, hundreds of little spiders will be scattered all over the house and will likely take months to find them all, especially once her cats get a hold of them. While this does nothing to protect the big spider, it's much more devious. Anyways, since this is a thread about bones 5 and not about hilarious things to do to your siblings (don't worry, she'll figure out a way to get me back, this is an ongoing thing) I just want to say I am super excited about the impending shipments. I'm in the process of tearing apart and rebuilding my hobby area to increase the storage for the massive order I placed and have doubled the amount of work surface I have for larger models. I should be able to get started on my first pirate ship shortly after it arrives!

I cleaned my hobby space a few months back and have since destroyed it. Between projects and gifts over the holidays. I feel like I should tidy up before Bones 5, but I also know I'll be moving come summer. Feels fruitless to tidy everything up just to tear it apart again. I'll probably open bones 5, check everything, then stuff it back in the boxes to facilitate moving. That said, who has advice on moving an entire mini collection? It's mostly painted plastic, but there's a few metal.

R2ED
I'm somewhat curious how people go about doing their unboxing, storing, and organizing for later painting. I imagine that a lot of how each person approaches this will be very, very different. I don't want them to collect dust, but I also kind of think it's helpful to see the model that inspires me to pick it up. Then that leads to - do I build and assemble them all (unless doing a pre-paint assembly is needed), and just dust it off before priming and painting? So curious to know how everyone gears up for April delivery and unboxing.

So curious to know how everyone gears up for April delivery and unboxing. So I had picked up a few Bones KS through ebay awhile back. These got opened and sorted in a big plastic container with homemade dividers. The older stuff came mostly pre-assembled. Though I did glue a few together with a cheap craft glue I had lying around (thankfully it's been easy enough to remove the glue whenever I go to paint any of those old ones). I quickly got more minis than I could reasonably sort - plus I started painting them. When Bones 4 arrived, I opened the box and checked the bags. I then put everything back in the box. I find it a lot easier to find a specific mini if it's in the box it came in. I will sometimes carefully cut open the individual bags to get a look at some models, but I put them back in the bags and boxes until I'm ready to paint. I don't like pre-assembling things because I don't know how long they might sit and how my painting/basing styles might change by the time I get to them. I look back at some of my first painted minis and would cringe to have to work on one of those again. If I have a gaming need for the unpainted minis I might glue them together for that game, or just stick them together temporarily with sticky tack (I have done this for unpainted characters with obstructive shield arms for instance) 1 hour ago, StarFyre said: if you move figures often like for gaming, etc getting a good army transport large carrier or something similar is worth it. I honestly don't transport much these days. I've got a few homemade foam trays for the few times I do. It wouldn't be economically feasible to get enough for the whole painted collection. Though mine isn't as big as others - only about 300 painted of various sizes. 5
