Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

From all the info I can find for my country (The Netherlands), it seems to be:

21% VAT

4,5% import fees (if they classify it under Toys, which is one of the higher ones I can see in there).

There might be some additional handling fees, but I can't seem to find much about them.

This comes by to about what I had estimated. The import fee is anoying, but not a huge hindrance. The prices for the kickstarter are still good like this.

I don't know if I'll have to defend my case with the border people (douane in Dutch), but I'm hoping it won't be the case.

If my order with Reaper would be $1000, of which $25 is shipping (for easy calculation), my total would be:

975 (cost) + 25 (shipping) + <possible insurance cost> = 1000. Import goes over this, if it's 4,5% this would mean my import fees would be €45,-

Taxes then would be:

21% of [975 (cost) + 25 (shipping) + <possible insurance cost> + 45 (import fee) = 1045]

Which would be 219,45

My total would be 264,45 in taxes (VAT) and import fees.

So a rough ~25% of the total of my order would come on top as taxes and VAT.

My $14,- dragons turn to $17,50 dragons.

I'm ok on this. The communication part sucked, even that they're doing this in the middle of a Reaper Live again instead of a loose post (without notifications as Jon had mentioned before). But the price part is what I had prepared for.

I’ve been through 5 Bones Kickstarters but it’s seems like VAT angst strikes as fulfillment is slated to begin with each one. I don’t blame people for it, taxes completely suck. I definitely think that, with the VAT angst being a regular thing, Reaper could be pre-alleviating any concerns at this point in the experience curve.

Updated my shipping address for that of the new apartment. Technically, the post office closest to the new apartment.

So no risks of me not being home when it gets delivered, or have it unfortunately wait outside in the new neighborhood (though the weather will be clement by then).

The only thing I have to contend with is the absurd amount of pollen being generated this time of year, and of course, the time of rain. Thankfully rain won’t hurt the minis; technically neither would pollen. The pollen however loves to wreck me.

Also... on Twitch? Really? :upside:

We filmed that and plan on putting it in the next update with a written section in it as well. We didn't want to knee jerk make an update about it.

So, I will admit to a certain amount of ignorance. I had to go read up on how VAT works. I'm not entirely certain I've got my head around it yet. All and all I can't decide if it's a better or a worse system than the one we have in place.
