Speaking of dragons, this is the first dragon(s) I've ordered.  I'm not quite sure how to tackle these daunting winged beasts, but is there a different strategy you need for these larger models?

Put them together, base them, then fill in gaps, then prime?

Is there anything you do to pick a color for your dragons?

Any videos you recommend?

I do have an airbrush, which I'm sure will help with this much plastic to cover.

i always fully assemble first. fill gaps, resculpt any areas that are needed, remove mold lines, etc.  that said, i also create custom paint stands/holders as needed.

so i find a way to support the model, turn it upside down, etc with minimal contact. i find its easier to manage cause, even if you attach wings after and fill gaps, what if you need to have complex freehand or blending over that gap? that can be annoying to match it up, etc.    i would rather spend more time in prep to find a way to manage the model, than to have to deal with it in separate parts.

but ive also been doing larger monsters for a very long time, so have kinda found my groove with them.

regarding colours, i tend to do dragons as per their D&D counterpart if its D&D based.  For example, im repainting the wizkids new ancient white (the massive one released in jan).  put it on hold due to the brushbeast contest due end of may, but for that white, ive used the 3e, 4e and 5e art of white dragons. where they have tons of tints of other colours, especially on the wings. ive done that with my airbrush. when i get back to it, will bring most of it back up to white while keeping areas of those other tints.

if its not something D&D based, i just look for colours on lizards i like, or other peoples paintjobs, etc.

YOU REBEL!  ::P:

You're talking about the person who's putting a Minotaur Demon Lord on top of a tank, and Narthrax kn too of a different one... ::P:

If I want a hot pink dragon, I'll paint a hot pink dragon! ^_^ I paint mine for displaying though, so there is that.

Anyone else mentally preparing for campaigns to use all these minis in?

I added every piece of terrain to my pledge. I plan to build scenarios for Rangers of Shadowdeep around them.

The bridge will be the bridge in existing game scenarios

The spider wall will be a clandestine rescue scenario

The gatehouse will be a holding action. The players have to seize and hold it until reinforcements move up

I am not really sure about Madapur pass

The charnel pit will be an ambush scenario

The ravenhome ruins will be added to my chapel ruins for the Burning Light campaign

And the Brinewind terrain will be added to my pier for the Ghoststone sabotage scenario

I painted a full set of Chromatic Dragons,  mostly to whatever they were listed as.

Once I got a full set I started branching out - A sea dragon, Dawnsfire the Dragon of Sunrise, I did one in purple and gold,

and the next will be a Wingless Brown & Yellow.

I usually assemble everything but the base and the wings before painting, and add those afterward.

I'm actually going to do the dragons as their 'traditional' dnd chromatic/metallic variants this time, not because I'm feeling constrained or obligated to,  but because I've spent so much time painting random colours on my previous dragons that we really need some traditional versions for our pathfinder games. I'm considering doing WIP threads for each chromatic/metallic variants, mostly just so that I don't get bored doing just the one paint scheme.

Aganzarax will probably be painted to match this fellow though, as I always thought black dragons should be iridescent (pardon the WIP)

To date I've painted exactly one dragon, the Temple Dragon (77503). I went with a super simple palette of a couple of greens and browns. I've never been a fan of the color coded dragons. I have plans to paint Aganzarax to look like a tauntaun. Always go with your scaly heart when painting dragons.

Hey Reaperites I'm working on boxing sample orders and working on what boxes the boxing team will need. i have small, medium and large to test as just a few tests

But I figured it would be fun to test some random orders from the community. So if you want to participate could you take a screen shot of your box KS order and post it here!! :)

where in the PM do you find that?

Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity – Three Mini Role-Playing Games

Three ready-for-adventure mini-game boxed sets for your RPG game night, featuring the Tri-Stat System used in BESM Fourth Edition RPG.

If you're looking for role-playing games that are concise enough to crack open and start playing right away, yet sufficiently robust and evocative to support longer campaign play as well, you've come to the right place.

Welcome to the Kickstarter for the first three Tri-Stat System Mini-Game Boxed Sets – a new line of compact and complete role-playing adventure games that are compatible with Dyskami Publishing's flagship BESM Fourth Edition anime and manga RPG. Tri-Stat System creator Mark MacKinnon has distilled and customised the complete system into distinct streamlined versions for each of the three adventure games – targeting their specific genres and background settings in easy-to-understand boxed sets.

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – it's time for your next great role-playing adventure!

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – These boxed set RPGs are games of adventure, exploration, battle, heroism, romance, and imagination. Yet unlike in a traditional board game, the possibilities for exploration and action in these role-playing game are endless.

Each of the three role-playing adventure games contains the following components:

a 32-page full-colour rulebook that gives your group everything you need to play, with sections on character abilities, magical spells/paranormal powers, weapons and equipment, enemy encounters, items and equipment, and guidelines for integrating the Tri-Stat System game with the compatible BESM Fourth Edition RPG
6 brief story scenarios so you can start playing adventures right away
6 pre-generated player character sheet handouts, with game stats and illustration
4 custom-etched dice specific to that boxed set

You can pledge for one, two, or all three of these boxed sets during the Kickstarter.

      ...

I know know nothing about these creators or the system, but I decided to back for Pixies entirely because of that picture of the corgi. 👀
