Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

I don't know what is going on in Australia. Reaper keeps saying on Reaperlive (the past 2) that it is here in Australia and that it would ship when it got here but it's still not on Aetherwork's queue list that they post twice a week. I bet they don't want it shipped way before the US ships theirs.

To be honest they probably will not do that.  I have to assume the anger that popped up when every Canadian backer receiving their shipments before wave 1 in the US had even gotten under way had to be a little embarrassing for Reaper.  Doing it two years in a row on two separate continents?  Yeah that would look pretty bush league.

Right, I know there was a lot of angst over the Canadian thing. I just think they shouldn't keep saying "Australia will ship as soon as it gets there" and "Australia has their stuff so they will begin shipping right away" when that is obviously not happening.

Dunno. Reaper said the past two weeks that Aetherworks has it and Aetherworks posts twice a week what they have completed, what is in progress and what is in queue and Bones 5 hasn't appeared on the list.

USA Hub: We're still waiting on our last two containers to arrive at our warehouse. The good news is that one of them is in the DFW area and is awaiting CBP and CPSC inspection. As soon as that's done, we could have the container here at any time. Please note that we have had inspections take one day, and we've had inspections take 3 weeks. We are hoping that it will be days rather than weeks.  Our second container is still in Long  Beach and has not been sent by rail to DFW yet.  We will continue to monitor and keep everyone informed of the status.

UK Hub: Both containers are in the UK. As of this morning, one container has cleared customs and is ready to be delivered to our warehouse for processing. The other container has not cleared customs, and there is no delivery date as of this morning. Our UK warehouse expects that it will take approximately a week to process each container. We will continue to monitor and keep everyone informed of the status.

AU Hub: All containers have arrived and have been processed. This hub is only finalizing some data and some software issues before beginning fulfillment. We don't have a start date just yet, but we expect it to be very soon. We will continue to monitor and keep everyone informed of the status.

Honestly, from the sounds of it, Australia deserves a "1st!" in regards to shipping. I hope it gets to you guys as soon as possible, even if it vexes others. Let the others suck a Goremaw if they don't like it. :)

Considering I think AU region was dead last for Bones IV, I don't mind them going first this time around. It's the way things work these days. With the way delivery works these days. I think some people think they should be first/early all the time (Amazon Prime shipping, for ex).

I for one could care less when I get my shipment. I've said it in previous Bones KSes, if it makes a disgruntled "fan" happy, ship theirs instead of mine first. I'll live.

Based on past experiences I've had with Aetherworks, unfortunately I can see them sitting on something for months.

The oddity is that they haven't posted it to their farcebook as being in the queue when they supposedly have all the containers. There is the possibility that they haven't posted it to the queue as they are processing it as part of their normal distribution agreement with Reaper rather than as part of their kickstarter queue...but I wouldn't rely on that. I'm pretty sure the AU region was dead last (except for stragglers) in every kickstarter except #1, and that was only because #1 shipped direct and wasn't split into regions - of course it also meant that due to international postage AU backers received theirs last (or close to last) anyway.

But isn't storage space expensive? If their business is shipping stuff for other people, storing it for weeks for no good reason (such as, all workers occupied with other projects in the queue, computer glitch, etc.) seems weird.

Hoping all goes well with UK customs and they start shipping in two weeks. Will be interesting to see how quickly the smaller hubs can get into pulling orders, in the past they got the packages ready to send out from the US.

I highly doubt Reaper would hold back on shipping from different hubs just because some people got angry they weren't first before. At best it would just be a different group of disgruntled people, as they would be angry Reaper was holding stuff back when they could ship. The latest update also indicates that the different hubs will start fulfillment as soon as they're ready to do so anyway. 😄

Personally, I couldn't care less whether someone else got their stuff before me, as long as I know I will get my order within a reasonable timeframe. Only one person will be first, everyone else will be after someone. 😉 Reaper is doing their very best to ensure everyone is getting their stuff as soon as possible. I'm sure they're as eager to start sending stuff out as we are to receive our new toys.

Also, kudos to Reaper for the unscheduled update! I very much appreciate it! 😁

Aetherworks is one of the primary distributors for gaming materials in AU (which is part of the reason for my distaste for them), in addition to doing kickstarter fulfillment.

I'm pretty sure they have a large warehouse available, with additional space on the property that they could use to store containers should it be required. I agree that it seems weird, but it's consistent with my broader experience with them overall (i.e. weird practices)

I'm ok with hubs shipping as they are ready.

I'm not in a race.  I'm Wave 3.  I was in early and should have made Wave 1, but KS was having credit card processing issues and delayed me.  A petty part of me is angry about missing Wave 1.  The minis will arrive when they arrive.  I'll follow their tracking anxiously, but I'm not concerned about other backers getting their stuff first.

It's not like I don't have a table full of minis being painted and a considerable backlog of stuff.

The thing I'm looking for most is 9328 black indigo.

I know Reaper is doing the very best in a global catastrophe, and we'll have our minis soon enough, but the cult of toxic positivity (mostly on Facebook) doesn't seem particularly productive.

Like, it's okay to be a little frustrated that you want your KS order that was estimated originally for April.  It's okay to be a little antsy about that. Obviously don't take it out on Reaper or their employees (because again, they're working hard to make this right) but stuff like "I have 956,403 minis so I don't need it anytime soon" isn't really the comfort some of y'all think it is.  In fact, in anticipation of the KS arriving, I'm personally nearly caught up now, and it's kinda pompous and presumptuous to assume that everyone else is also in the same position.

Idk, don't mean to complain here, and I know it won't get the containers in faster.  But it's okay to be a little frustrated, is all.
