Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Recommended Posts

The encounters are really good, and I hope that those become more prevalent in later Bones editions. Heck, even just more terrain of that sort to start up dioramas would be nice.

I'll be in the delayed batch; got the humanoid busts and a lot of middle-finger power ups.

I think Shavynra was my only named possible holdup; but I'm wave 1 so maybe all right if they've got half of them or whatnot?

...I'm actually not sure how I wound up getting a Shavynra but not the black dragon. Hmm. If I get anything on the reopen it'll probably be one of those.

Perhaps!

I think I probably got one and then cooled off on buying stuff before I got the other, as I'm prone to doing. But I placed three separate orders and it still doesn't explain why I didn't get the black, which was such a great sculpt and is my favorite dragon type. Maybe I'd picked up a WizKids black dragon and decided that was enough? I dunno. Oh, well. Second chance, here I come.

ah shoot i did order Shavynra, guess we'll see if that affects me

I ordered three Shavynra models, and am in Wave 3. Here’s hoping they’ve already got enough in to last thru the arrival of the final container.

Looking at the Rewards tab on KS, there are 7,998 backers in the first 8 Americas/EU $120 waves. After Wave 8 there isn’t always a Wave number at the $120 level (Waves 9 & 10 only exist as a $1 level, while there is a $120 Wave 11, Wave 12, 14, and 15), but around a third of them are, and most are maxed out or close to it.

Granted, earlier wave backers are more likely to order more stuff, but I vaguely recall Ron mentioning Shavynra was the most-purchased dragon in the PM (I think?). But just looking at the numbers of ‘high level’ backers, you’re at Wave 6 before you even reach the halfway point of Americas/EU backer numbers. With any luck, they have enough in the warehouse to get through the first week. After that, the container should surely have arrived. 🤞🏻

There is a certain poetic justice that the "FU" gesture figure is one of those that will cause the delay.   Literally giving the middle finger to the backers who ordered it.

I don’t think the disapproving hand was ever mentioned as being late. Still, funny theoretical situation.

I may have misinterpreted what was missing from the Power Ups. If not, then awesome! Still delayed due to the humanoid busts though. I think I'm.... wave 3? Early but not 1st.

Sorry, I should learn not to "assume". ::):    But, don't ever let the facts get in the way a good punch line!

Update from tonight’s Reaper Live; the container that arrived today was largely Bones retail restocks, but did also contain Nathavarr dragon power-ups for Bones 5.  Ed said Nathavarr was in the bulk of the orders that would have been held up.

Still waiting on GitD Pirate Ships, modern/campground scenics power-up, and the three humanoid busts add-on. Also the second portion of the Shavynra stock for Bones 5 fulfillment.

I included Nathavar and two Shvyrna in my pledge but am in Wave 1. I think it's time I make room for the new residence of the shelves in my game room!

      A message from Secret Weapon:

      Big news time everyone!
As many of our pledgers know, we need to adjust the Kickstarter - On the positive, we have a good amount of backers and we know that MANY of you are waiting to up your pledges. We have had a really positive response to the product itself, and lots of interest on the customer and retail side. We deeply appreciate this and your support.
BUT - we have a good amount of backers who are opting to wait on their $1 pledge. This is entirely our fault. We caused this when we locked our core offering behind stretch goals. There is no single item that is core. ALL the options are core. We made it so that many of you had to wait around to buy what you already knew they wanted.
That's a big boo boo, but it was made with the best of intentions. The system was set up so that there was no mandatory amount, and you added what you wanted and nothing more. We thought that this was better for the customer, but it quickly became obvious the vast majority of backers want jump-in points at set amounts like a usual KS... and weren't entirely sure about a pledge manager that was open during the campaign.
So, what are we going to do to fix this for you?
We are going to close the campaign, and relaunch it next week. That sucks and it's embarrassing. But ultimately everything else that happens is great for EVERYONE, because this is what happens next:
1.) ALL themes will be shown and unlocked right off the bat. If you want Urban Streets or Infinity, you just go get it, no hoops or delays to choosing what you want. You also know exactly what is on offer.
2.) There will be pledge levels: $50(+), $100(+) and $200(+). The 100 dollar + level will include a set of 3 weathering pigments (really really good ones too - Burning Sands, Dark Earth, and Rust Orange), and the 200 dollar + level will be the pigment set, and a set of 3 genuinely awesome paints. Secret Weapon's Rubber Highlight, Rubber and Tire Black, our most popular colors! At the end of the campaign you will use the Pledge Manager, as usual, to make whatever specific choices you want based on your KS pledge. The Pledge Manger will be available during the campaign for those that would like help figuring out a total pledge level, but that is optional, and you can wait until the end of the campaign to sign up.
3.) Each of the $50(+), $100(+) and $200(+) pledge levels will have 3 shipping zone options
      Americas, Europe (NOT UK)
      AU, NZ, Asia, Pacific
      United Kingdom (NOT Europe)
4.) Any extra themes that are developed during the course of the KS will be added immediately, no stretch, we just give you the option as soon as it is available.
There will be 17 themes live at the time of launch, which doesn't count the licensed product from Corvus Belli and CMON Zombiecide.

Yikes, the resolution did not hold. I tried. Just click the link lol.

Thinking about doing this one; while I found Vance kinda torturous to read, the world is fantastically fun. And I think it'd work really well with the good things I've heard about DCC, so I could give that a try in general.
