29.4 Pounds of Bones 5 just arrived!  One corner of the box totally smashed in….the cardboard is not the sturdiest.

::(:
Sir Edgar conducts a thorough investigation before allowing me to check contents. Fingers crossed all inside is ok.

Any idea on assembly status for Bones V? Really hoping unassembled. Some of the preassembled ones were done really badly in IV.

So far:

Ballista: not assembled

Shadow Dragon: not assembled

Trebuchet: not assembled

Fire Giant: not assembled

Nemean Lion: ASSEMBLED

Graeco Bronze Golem: ASSEMBLED

Henchmen: ASSEMBLED / single piece models

How's the assembly quality on those? Joins actually put together properly? Brush access not totally blocked?

Actually it is a bolt thrower not a ballista. Ballistae hurl spherical ammunition, hence the name (Ballista).

Material Notes: This model is the squashy bendy grey bones material. Sadly, this makes it hard? to assemble. It is not completely put together. It may need to be trimmed in places.  The tabs are very very shallow, the box frame area is out of square, this may need pinning.

Ya’ll have fun figuring out the name-numbers of the figures I used to show the scale. (One of them is Rictur…he built my wet palette)

Same with mine. Will need some trimming and clamping/banding when glued.  Catapult and Trebuchet were much easier to assemble, and had deeper tabs.

I forgot to give any size information.

The Ghost and Rictur are both 34mm tall. The ghost is on a plastic base that adds 3mm to him. I measure from base of figure to top of head. The whole scene is on quadrille graph paper. Each square is 1/4 of an inch. The model itself is 110mm long from bolt-tip to the crank handles at the hind-end.

The Core, a couple of the Expansion Boxes, and paint box are all partially crushed, but doesn’t look bad enough to have damaged contents. I will need to eventually check everything to be sure.

So here’s all the boxes I got and big old pile of Bones-filled plastic bags! (Chronoscope figure included with bags for scale)

Now the task of going through everything checking for completeness.

not to ruin all the joyous celebration of those of you who have your shipment already or a tracking email, but i'm still concerned

we have no idea where the container is, right? or am i wrong?

Is it stuck in port? On the water?

has it been washed overboard to the bottom of the sea?

Are we looking at days? Weeks? Months? over a year?

that's my worry. we don't have any inkling of those of us that are delayed will get our things, we are told to 'pipe down' and 'be patient' and 'they're just toys', but we are looking at possible months or more of nothing because we hae no idea where the container is, right?

I dunno. just bothers me, taht we dont even know WHEN we could expect our things, if ever. For that matter we could see our missing items hit retail before we get our kickstarter packages, since they apparently already have the retail versions

The container is on land.  It is on some queue to be shipped.  They have been in contact with their shipper but the port ultimately decides what gets released when.

Got a notice Wenesday evening, box showed up yesterday. Guess there’s a benefit to being 4’ish hours south down I-35. So far only one missing bit (the stone ammo for one of my two catapults). I went light on B5, just three expansions, and a handfull each of core options, power ups and add-ons.

Random comments:

The large figure bases appear to be ABS plastic, not sure if this is news, but should help tremendously on the stability/warpage front.

The moray eels are glued into stands, but a bit of twisting popped them out.

Very pleased with what I’ve received...

I'm pretty sure that in one of the more recent update videos, they said that it has been sitting in the port, awaiting inspection. Though, given that my shipment isn't one being delayed, I didn't pay as close attention during that part of the update.
