Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

I was looking forward to the pledge manger reopening,

right up until my water heater died.

as much as I would like a few more options or another expansion,  a lot of minis arrived this week  so a the moment pledging responsibly is 0.

It wont effect my ReaperCon plans - that's already budgeted in.

Siri I am sorry you had such a hard year.  We are all passing through this darkness separately and people here are happy to share the light where they can.

As you have mentioned before, Reaper needs a Communications Manager. I do think they've improved since Bones IV, but there are aspects that are still lacking and all of it would be easier for everyone if they had a dedicated Communications employee.

2020 can go blow chunks.

Brian left shortly after I stumbled into this little sanctuary on the Internet.

From my perspective, his shoes have never been adequately filled.

A whole bunch of us have been telling Reaper ... pretty much ever since .. that they need a dedicated Social Media Person.

Jon's been busting his buns; and doing a damn good job, but he needs some help. It's a big job for one guy. ^^;

True. I am not worried too much about it. I am off this week so it would have been nice to have them but that window is already gone so I am back to "the minis will get here when they get here."

Now I am more focused on how much to budget for the PM when it reopens (anyone know when that happens? Maybe around beginning of business on the 6th?)

Honestly, I'm kinda at the point where it's pretty laughable for me to put money into a reopened Pledge Manager right now.

Like, I'm not sure when I'm even gonna get the original fulfillment that I pledged nearly two years ago- I definitely don't have much confidence in making a new pledge.

And for the peanut gallery, I know Reaper is doing their best in a difficult global situation.  But "it'll get here when it gets here" isn't really as satisfying as it used to be, especially when some people have had their stuff for almost a week now.

I have no doubt that we'll get our stuff... eventually. I am with you on being frustrated that we have no timeline for it and as much as I'm glad other people have been getting theirs (and the pics look great) it does not feel good while waiting on the sidelines for an undefined time. Especially when I went through the effort of upgrading my wave 13 to a wave 1 over the course of the kickstarter, checking for openings often throughout the days, moving up wave by wave. That has proven to be a waste of time and effort. 🤷‍♂️

Personally I am a little tempted to order the Greek expansion after seeing the figures in video format. I won't, mostly because I will have enough figures for a while and don't really want to pay the shipping.

I wonder if the cannons for the ship will be available separately. If the price was something like 5 for about 10 AUD then they would be fun for some coastal fortifications.

That sounds really frustrating as well.

Yeah, I know we'll get it eventually, and I really look forward to that day.  But hooooo boy, do I feel way too undervalued as a customer right now to even consider backing another KS at the moment.

I thought I wouldn't back Bones5 because I had so many minis already... then they go and release a bunch of cool sculpts of things I don't have and I end up backing anyway. The value for the quality you get is too good, if the sculpts are something you want, to forgo backing imo. In the future I'll just not care about the wave and assume it'll take 3 years regardless.

I am Backer #4 in Wave 1 with one of nearly everything. Delayed for sure. Not sure for how long yet.

No, It's not backer number but when you locked the first order. They have said that backer # does not matter.

I made the effort to watch for the pledge manager to open and quickly lock in my first order as well.... woo. Had it locked within 10 minutes of the manager opening... so at least mine will ship quickly.... once they get the missing container.

Good for you.  I have three of the dreaded blockers and I am wave 12.  I deliberately waited because the waves don't matter much and I have been early wave# on most of the other three.  (If memory serves Bones I did not have waves.)

Correct.

Bones 1 they did vampire only orders, I think as soon as they got them in, and then waited a really long time before informing everyone that the rest weren't there yet. It was interesting, because there was no information out whatsoever and no expectations about communications. I thought mine had been lost in the mail or something. Eventually, they realized it was easier to keep us in the loop rather than answer the same question hundreds of times.

      More villagers for your town!

Many of these poses are unique and, afaik, unavailable elsewhere.

All In Pledge shows all sets available in this KS. Sets and smaller bundlers are available, and sets from the previous Villagers KS are available now from the creator's website.

A small but creative series of Garden Gnome miniatures by sculptor Tom Mason. Search for his name in the Reaper figure finder and you'll see some of his other work.

      The Gnome Guard

“The Gnome Guard” expands on the world of “The Adventures of Little Knife and Kronan” & ”The Goblin Menace” by introducing the stalwart guards of the garden.

One of the world’s most timeless lawn decorations can now come to life on your tabletop. Whether you need comparably adorable force to face off against other pint-sized foes, or you’re just obsessed with garden gnomes, these miniatures will make a great addition to any collection.

I have a few preview gnomes on my painting workbench. They are great! Small, simple, metal, easy to paint, but full of personality. [/unsolicited review]
