Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Unlikely UPS. This has happened with other Kickstarters when the company declares the retail price of the models rather then what I paid them. $90 makes sense if the box was $600 which is likely the retail cost of the contained models.

I assume this is beneficial for the company and screws the costumer. I'll know for sure when the box arrives on the 12th.

Regardless this is poor form on Reaper and they should understand that they've put their Canadian customers in a broccolity, unexpected, position.

Ordering non-Kickstarter items hasn't been a problem with Reaper, although those go through CanadaPost. I've had more issues with CanadaPost dinging items for customs on stuff my mother sends, and a small mask company that hadn't shipped to Canada before. They should know at least how to do the customs declaration side of things. I sure hope they didn't declare the retail value on these, because I'm going to get slammed hard if that's the case.

How is this beneficial for the company?

Reaper doesn't get anything extra by declaring a higher price.  The only "benefit" a company gets by declaring a higher value is that it's less likely that some government bureaucracy comes after them for under-declaring the value.

I'm sympathetic to the situation Canadians are in regarding these fees, but it does no good to assume that any of this was done with malicious intent.

I doubt malicious intent. As you said, there isn't a benefit for Reaper to declare that higher price.

Really hoping that the taxes and fees are based off the KS prices though. Otherwise this is going to be *really* bad.

A possibility is that somewhere along the line here in the US something/someone "helpfully" converted the value to Canadian currency, but UPS in Canada is reading it as USD, and converting it again.

So $300 US becomes ~$375 CAD, and treating that as USD causes it to become ~$467 CAD.

I would venture a guess to say that maybe even UPS might have done this. I've seen weirder things happen...

Oh. I'd previously missed that "early 2022" bit on the late orders, I guess. 🙃

Guessing no container as it wasn't mentioned in that update.

no word yet on if they got the container today?

The US container is set to arrive in Dallas tomorrow, then they expect it to arrive at the factory on Monday.

I dont have a 2nd email address so it is too much trouble, for me, to add more minis at a greater cost. Reaper has lost my money with this nonsense with starting a new account.

Only one email address?? Can't say I hear that often! Not even counting work, I have 6, and that's not including the multiple I've let expire or stopped using over the years, either.... Want to borrow one?? LOL

That matches the last information I heard/read @Sirithiliel

Best possible case was: unload (and inventory!) container Monday morning to mid afternoon.  Stock up fulfillment area with those last items…begin fulfilling orders Tuesday.

But they might not get the container until 3pm Monday. < there is no shrugging emoji; but if there was it’d belong here >

…it involves using a plus sign.

Is your one email a gmail address?

Then they should spell the process out

Sometime on July 5th or 6th they learned the the Pledgemanager software has some limitations.

It uses email addresses to ID accounts and an account can only have one status (still open; shipped; closed out).

Here is what you could try:

Where

Original

PM Account

Was this email:

[email protected] . com

Register

A New

PM Account

With this email:

Zavoda788JSN+B5pm55@gmail . com

The pledge manager will consider those different email addresses.
Gmail will consider them the same address (the one with +b5pm55 is just considered a tag?)

The plus sign is vital / required.

Don’t use any periods after the plus sign.

   @ksbsnowowl

Or maybe you could use a period / not enough of a tech guru to be sure.

Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity – Three Mini Role-Playing Games

Three ready-for-adventure mini-game boxed sets for your RPG game night, featuring the Tri-Stat System used in BESM Fourth Edition RPG.

If you're looking for role-playing games that are concise enough to crack open and start playing right away, yet sufficiently robust and evocative to support longer campaign play as well, you've come to the right place.

Welcome to the Kickstarter for the first three Tri-Stat System Mini-Game Boxed Sets – a new line of compact and complete role-playing adventure games that are compatible with Dyskami Publishing's flagship BESM Fourth Edition anime and manga RPG. Tri-Stat System creator Mark MacKinnon has distilled and customised the complete system into distinct streamlined versions for each of the three adventure games – targeting their specific genres and background settings in easy-to-understand boxed sets.

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – it's time for your next great role-playing adventure!

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – These boxed set RPGs are games of adventure, exploration, battle, heroism, romance, and imagination. Yet unlike in a traditional board game, the possibilities for exploration and action in these role-playing game are endless.

Each of the three role-playing adventure games contains the following components:

a 32-page full-colour rulebook that gives your group everything you need to play, with sections on character abilities, magical spells/paranormal powers, weapons and equipment, enemy encounters, items and equipment, and guidelines for integrating the Tri-Stat System game with the compatible BESM Fourth Edition RPG
6 brief story scenarios so you can start playing adventures right away
6 pre-generated player character sheet handouts, with game stats and illustration
4 custom-etched dice specific to that boxed set

You can pledge for one, two, or all three of these boxed sets during the Kickstarter.

      ...

I know know nothing about these creators or the system, but I decided to back for Pixies entirely because of that picture of the corgi. 👀
