Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Honestly, I have two university email accounts, actually I think three (one departmental, two schoolwide), one junk gmail, one general use gmail, and one gmail that connects to my LinkedIn. And my dad still maintains the family email server, which has two addresses of mine that I no longer use.

It is so easy to just make a new Gmail account that the "new account" thing isn't that difficult.

The difficulty comes later when one tries to remember who was given what email and trying to check them all and manage them all . . . It can snowball.

This little guys doesn’t get much attention with all the bigger guys in the Kickstarter, but he really is a detailed little beauty.

Yeah I like him/her. Dungeon Dwellers had a lot of nice figures, but no real capstone. It was a little lacking when compared to the other expansions.

There were a lot of dead sharks in this KS. The sea giant has one, there is one in the raft and there is one hanging ready to be skinned.  Based on where the Sea Giant dead shark. connects, it should be easy enough to take it and use it in a guard dog diorama. Combine it withe some precise cutting on the hanging shark and you should be able to create a diorama of two sharks being used as guard dogs, taken for a walk or being a Shark King (look up rat king).

This was posted to the discord today, apparently from Reaper UK’s Instagram.

And also on their FB page! Very happy to see that UK has gotten their final container and will start shipping next week, as that's where mine will be shipped from. 😄

Remember, these are NOT leftover stock that are being sold from the factory, these are preorders that will be ordered from the factory in China by Reaper at the time that the 5.5 pledge manager closes (around 85 days from now) and then will be shipped around 90 days after that order has been placed (some time in 2022). Reaper does NOT expect that anything will be turned off before the 5.5 pm closes so just make sure you get your order in before it closes because this is your last chance to pick these figures up at much lower than retail prices. They have never done this before, in the past you would be waiting until retail and sometimes it can take literally years for everything from the kickstarters to make it to retail.

Items that were left out of the 5.5 pledge manager either did not sell well enough during the kickstarter to justify a kickstarter (non-retail packaged) version of the item to be ordered (this does not necessarily mean that the figure will never be available, as the molds are already made) OR it may be an item that did sell well but is expected to go to retail soon (TM).

What odds on the final container gets to Reaper today?

Almost nil. It’s scheduled to get to Dallas today. I’m betting it gets to Reaper on Monday.

I am surprised the Bones 5 Learn to Paint Kit did not make the list for B5.5  given all the miniatures you get and the paints it seemed like a nice gift.  I know I purchased 3 for gifts for my nieces and nephews.

The LTPK is a logistical headache to assemble. Random mini’s from the Core set (who knows if they are all on the same mould or not), paints made and bottled in Denton, instructions printed who-knows-where.

If reaper can be convinced to add the LTPK to the 5.5 PM, I’m betting it’ll be a lesser deal, in a bag, only paints and instructions, but no mini’s.

Therein lies one of the biggest hurdles for me.  Small problems become massive ones in rather short order, and it becomes a rather annoyingly large ball of stress in no time.
