Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

Package shipped today by USPS. Thank you Reaper for not going with a courier to a PO box and cross border.

On the storage topic, I remove most of my minis from their individual baggy when checking to see I got everything. Then I transfer them to a large baggy sorted by classification. Wild life in one, hill giants in another, fighters, spellcasters, etc and then they are stuffed into boxes also somewhat sorted by theme. I saved a lot of space for unpainted minis just by getting rid of the little baggies and stuffing them tighter into boxes.

I currently keep my paints in three reaper carry cases (two learn to paint kits and one paint set), but I need to find a better option as I am running out of room.

This is where the Reaper paint caddies work best for me. They can hold over a 100 bottles, stack reasonably well, and are see-through.

I already own five of them, and with my incoming Bones 5 pledge (shipping container pending), the fifth one will be also full.

The carry cases, with the right foam inserts, I keep around for the minis themselves.

So it *is* possible?!

[Goes and update address *back* to old PO box address]

I know it's extra work for Reaper, and it may cause extra delays, but UPS is a sore point for many of us.

My habit is to leave everything in the baggies if possible until I use them.

I do inventory them, and only open the bags if I can't check the parts through the bags. Sometimes I can even dry fit parts within the bag. Then I use sticky tape to seal the bags again and put them back in the box until I'm ready to paint them.

Including the fan made checklists, I also have my own database to keep track of everything.

I've said it many times before and will continue to say it every chance I get, I loathe UPS. So many things they charge extra for and then they just throw it in the regular mail system to deliver to here because they don't service my town. Other couriers can be a bit expensive and have some issues but even when I didn't have a street address they still worked to get me my parcels.

I'll leave multipart minis in their baggies but most of the rest gets sorted and moved into larger baggies. Then if I'm looking for a specific mini I can usually find it easier by looking for it in the new box and bag.

Re. Storage:

I use a few different sizes of tackle boxes and Artbin-style plastic cases, labeled by type of critter - for example, Goblins or Undead or Riders-on-Mounts. Those fill multiple bookshelves. I also have a set of "Alex" storage drawers units from Ikea (the 26" high, 26 3/8" wide version). Really big pieces go on bookshelves. Really good painted medium to  large sized pieces go in my "Dragon Cabinet" (what most people apparently call a "China Cabinet" even though no one in my circles bothers to own fine china).

That's not all Reaper Bones minis, of course. I have an extensive collection of pre-painted plastic D&D/Paizo minis in addition to my Bones 1 thru 4 collection. I also have two shoebox-sized plastic bins that are filled to the brim with primed, unpainted metal Reaper miniatures - I carefully piled them in there prior to moving some years ago, and have never unpacked or inventoried them. And a few plastic tubs for really old or less-valued items, like a bunch of Heroclix stuff I picked up years ago.

Any unassembled Bones minis go back into their plastic baggie (I cut them open across one end; if the baggie doesn't survive or isn't big enough to fold closed securely, I can usually grab one from a larger, one-piece mini). The Alex drawers hold most of the unpainted collection, but I wonder, if I were to sort them into the "by critter type" storage bins, would it encourage me to paint more of them?

I'm really hoping to find more time to paint, as my painted-to-unpainted ratio is pretty abysmal. If "she who dies with the most Unpainted minis wins" then I'm definitely in the running!

To keep y'all up to date from the fulfillment stream this morning: The last US container has not yet arrived but the shipping company confirmed that it arrived in Dallas on Saturday but it has not yet made it to the Reaper factory. They are still hopeful that it will arrive today. However, they have reached the point where they have completed packing all orders that they possibly could that did not have items from the final container. Again, those items are campground, dragonfolk, rune wight, bust collection, ghost ship and the rest of the Shavynra dragons.

If you are shipping from the US factory and were missing ONLY the dragonfolk and/or rune wights, your box likely has been packed - note that I am looking at palettes of boxes waiting to be picked up by UPS so I am specifically using the word packed. Bear in mind that shipping notices can take some time to get to you. We have had many reports of email notices arriving instantly, as well as delayed by 12+ hours, as well as the occasional box arriving before the email notice.

The last US container is still expected today, but they are at the mercy of the shipping company and are just waiting on its arrival and there is nothing they can do until it arrives. So everybody keep your fingers crossed for good news later on in the day!

Just incase i missed it, has uk shipping date been announced?

The last UK update that I am aware of is that they had received the last UK container and had begun logging things in and organizing and expected to start sometime this week but no solid date has been given.

Seeing that part of my job is waiting on freight trucks to arrive & most of the time they are always late, I know this feeling all too well. Sad thing, it's all the same company (my employer), just different segments of the company.

I don’t wash my miniatures of any make until I decide to paint them.

My figures are all organized by RPG needs and categories. Some smaller subsets are kept in bags. However, most of my figures sit loose, by category, in old shoe boxes, plastic bins, etc.

I wash all my bones while I do inventory of my order.  I only do it with the KS because most everything isnt in official packaging. Otherwise Im the same way.

I'm only waiting on the runes and dragonfolk and possibly the dragon, but seems I haven't gotten a shipping notice - nothing in spam or my inbox. I was wave 12, though, as a reference point, guess they didn't make it that far down.

I'm in your boat as well.  Wave 11 for me though.  Checking my email a few times a day but otherwise just patiently waiting.
