I received mine today. Very pleased with it.

There were some fitting issues, but easily remedied with hot water. I appreciate being able to assemble myself, since pre-assembled can sometimes be a mixed bag in regards to quality, so I'm not upset about having to hot water them.

The detail in the bones black material is great. Switching over was a change for the better. Kudos to the artists and manufacturing!

My main gripe is with the attached bases. Bones black is difficult to cut through, so removing minis from attached bases is difficult and time consuming. If feedback is desired, I'd prefer all bases be separate  OR if they are to be attached, that they all be 1", 2", 3", or 4" CIRCLES rather than ovals. It makes playing DnD on a grid just a bit easier and more consistent.

But overall, very happy with what was delivered. Great job!

From experience kit bashing, I can confirm that placing a bones black mini in boiling water for ~30 seconds softens it considerably for the purposes of repositioning and cutting.

Yah, I'm not a big fan of the oval style base. At least you can put a circle base under them & they fit in a 1 inch square for D&D/PF purposes. One reason why I like the thin wafer bases from Wizkids. Those don't add any height to the mini (ie make em look like they are on pedestals) vs a standard Reaper plastic base.

I rather like the look of the ovals, and I like the slight raise to them. The WizKids bases kinda look like cheap junk to me. I can write the PC's name on the edge of a slightly raised base, and it looks more "complete". While I like the integrated base for figures where brush access isn't cut off, I think it would be totally reasonable to separate the base and the figure like was done for the Bones Black owlbear, such that folks that want a different base can easily put the figure on one of their choosing, but it would be easy for us to glue them into place on the default one.

The less stuff comes on sprues, or with stuff to cut away, the better! I was just preparing a figure and as I snipped the head, it jumped away from me, presumably into the void, never to be seen again.

... Bring on the Bones instead.

Sprue cleaning and disposal are a pain in the rear, but there are very good reasons for having sprued figures.

One of my favorite sneaky hacks is to take a figure with an integral base (that I don’t care about), and so as to not add height, is to flip a reaper base over, set the integral base down in the reaper one, then base the figure and cover it over.

....I can't believe I didn't think of that.  Amazing.

Those WizKid bases are barely even bases st all. 👀

I just toss 'em in a box for the day I find a use for them

Seriously. They're flimsier than gluing a figure to a penny.

Pennies are what I use under the base to weigh my mini's down:)

When you clip them, cut them into a small box, that way they do not go far.

Yup, I have done that on a few of my mini's, looks really cool and gives them more depth:)

Recently though, I have jumped onto both of Casper Gad's base kickstarters (I actually did the commercial tier on both) so I will be using those now (previously I was using reaper's lipped bases and using milliput and happy seppukku base stamps). I really enjoy these, and they look great off my FDM printer (most of the rest are really detailed and would be better off a resin printer)
