Slightly more delays for Aetherworks / Australian distribution due to lockdowns:

Restrictions put in place over the last few days means that several of our staff are unable to travel to work. They should have sent the orders at the beginning of June when they got the shipment. One of the lucky people who got her boxes last week, one of them had written on it in marker "waiting for paints". Made us wonder if the "software issues" was really waiting for Reaper to send the paint and the learn to paint kits to Aetherworks and that is why they sat there not shipping anything for a month.

Re. "Waiting for paints" - I used to work in a shipping warehouse, and that kind of note could also occur if they had the paints on hand but were separating out which boxes needed something (paints) added and which ones were already complete.

 

But the need to sort-boxes-and-add-paints-to-some could definitely cause a delay (bumping other jobs ahead that are already prepped for shipment), even if everything was in-house.

I have anything of any importance delivered to my place of work because the mail is so rubbish at my apartment complex. I have been sitting in my apartment and heard something thud into the door as if thrown, and gone outside to see my parcel sitting on the ground in front of the door. I'm pretty positive they just lobbed it at the door and walked away.

IIRC they were all done by Julie Guthrie, and I dare say they were rushed. She's an amazing sculptor, and given time enough they could have been exquisite.  Lately with the KS projects the sculptors seem to be working at full steam, with one concept after another thrown at them rather than letting them create at their own pace.  There's a difference between work that people love to do and work that has to be done on deadline.

We sent the MSP paints and the Foersters favorites the third week of April and then the LTPK the first week of May. by air, so they normally take 2-3 weeks to get there.  -- Per our shipping department. 

I also think, AW has all sorts of stuff they have to do (fulfill other KS's and other warehouse things), meanwhile we have shut down our normal operations to just pull KS orders. IDK exactly how they are doing it, but they could just be folding it into their normal stuff as well, or have a smaller team than we do. We are using all of our employees for this, but that is partially because we have 13xxx orders and they have about 1000-ish. (i think).

The smaller maiden bust was originally done for ReaperCon and was repurposed for Bones. Different time schedule for that one. The resin version is... okay. She's a great sculptor, but her usual thing is dragons, right? Rushed and on a non-standard topic may make some slightly off shapes. I guess we'll see how the other two are; they struck me as "nice for practice" but not amazing - still good for the exploratory painter niche though. I'd be really curious how Bones Black busts would be with a sculptor who really focuses on human/humanoid shapes more.

 

And you are very right; deadlined work can suffer.

Some quick Monday update information regarding the kickstarter. @everyone You will see an update if any more important information pops up. 
 

USA
Waiting on the fire Marshall, It is raining today so getting the fire lanes around the warehouse set up. Signs should be arriving today and put up! So we are hoping to pick back up fulfillment in the next couple of days once the FM has approved the additions that are required! The upside to this is that we can prepare hundreds and hundreds of boats for shipping, so it will go much smoother in the packing and shipping phases of the process. Before we were having to do the boats on demand and were going so fast that we could not make a surplus of them, we had to do it this way to strap the boats to UPS guidelines with straps and tape ETC. During this down time we have been able to make all of the remaining groupings of boats! :thumbsup: 
 

UK/EU
We are slowly starting to ramp up, as we have to do our normal orders as well as online orders.  A mini FAQ for everyone anxious about receiving their Bones 5 shipment in the UK/EU. We're working on filling the orders as quickly as we can. It is impossible fir us to tell you when *your* specific order will ship. When your parcel receives postage, our system will send an email to the address you used at the pledge manager.We completely understand that you've been waiting a long time for all these wonderful minis. We sympathize, and we're working to ship your orders out as quickly as possible! Thank you for your continued patience
We are shipping the orders via wave > country. 
For example: Wave 1 > FR, ES, IT, GB..ETC   -->   Wave 2 > FR, ES, IT, GB...ETC.

As you know, Australia has gone back into lock down so this weekend Aetherworks put out a post on socials:

AW does distribution for multiple kickstarters, as well as being the distributors for a range of different game systems, then doing direct-to-client sales. They do have a separate team pulling kickstarters to their normal duties, but I'm pretty sure the entire operation is smaller than Reaper.

I'm sure their KS team is smaller than Reaper's but the population they are filling orders for is also a lot smaller. Since the paints and everything were sent out in plenty of time, that means the Bones 5 KS sat there since the beginning of June and they didn't start filling orders for a month. They then managed to do 30% in 2 weeks. At that rate, it would have taken nearly 2 months to fill the KS and they have slowed down more now with the restrictions. 

Edited to add: Thank you @Reaper_Jon for checking when the paints and stuff were sent. It is feeling a little bit like a black hole on this end of the world. We see that the UK has someone posting photos and updating and letting people know what's going on. The US has a stream that people can watch. Here, it seems like we very occasionally are told things but what we do get told does not match what we are seeing. It's just beyond frustrating!
