amuller33
Glad to see so many peoples getting their orders my advice ... Buy some extra glue before. Seriously though I just finished gluing over 100 minis with ~ 100 minis to go. I have heard some complaints over on KS about not enough coming in 1 piece. I got 1 of everything but modern scenics and there were 450 that DIDN'T need any glue, so KS might have been inflating the issue ( a 1st I know). plus the dragons /giants were a snap to assemble. I'm not a huge fan of the smaller models coming on sprues though. I'm sure there are reasons but my sausage fingers have a hard time putting them together. Things like the dino ninjas/samaurai will probably sit at the bottom of the bucket of shame for years. Still my point is there are plenty ...PLENTY of minis that are 1-piece to keep you busy until Bones 6 arrives. AJ 3
R2ED
I'll say it again: if anyone has a dollar tree near them go and raid their glue. They sell gel and regular super glue in 2 or 3 packs. They also sell loctite regular bottle as well as super glue bigger bottles (not just the minis) . Want to know the price? ... if i have to say it, please read that store's name again. AJ "Rant" I seriously don't get this one.....It's freakin super glue, it's Bones material. It's like they were meant to be used together. It might be cause I'm use to superglue, I know how to use it (simple thing to say, but you'd be surprised on how many people don't) but I just don't get this & I probably never will. "Rant off" Bring on the assembly!

"Rant off" Bring on the assembly! when it's basic assembly like 'put arm in slot' then i'm fine with it but if it's like some resin kits and the teeny tiny, itty bitty heads are separate from the body, and there is no slot to put them in and you just have to haphazardly balance them on the smooth area of the neck and glueing your fingers together in the process, i can see that being an annoyance. that's not often REaper bones though, so hopefully there aren't that many pieces in the KS where you have to pop tiny heads onto smooth, socket-less shoulders haha
Cintra
I'm kind of in the middle on this one. I like fully assembled minis, I'm fine with Reaper having "assembly required" pieces if that's what makes sense for the sculpt, but I also am much less likely to ever get around to painting minis that would have hard-to-reach spots if they're pre-glued. (If I can go ahead and glue them before doing any painting, that's fine.) I see two downsides to assembly-required on smaller figures. (1) it takes a LOT longer to inventory the contents and confirm if I have the correct bits (is that a hand or a bit of scrap?); and (2) if the connecting pieces are too small, they are occasionally hard for me to glue (those tiny hands...). Although I did care enough about assembled-or-not to enter that info in a spreadsheet as I checked it all in. And having gotten almost everything (I skipped the busts, dragonslayers, Navatharr, and the fire giant hellbringer); by my count, I've got 475 distinct minis that are fully assembled (480 if you count the Brinewind Extras crates as separate pieces), versus 197 that need assembly (and one mini that's missing but I am guessing from the art will need assembly).

Putting together Bones figures is almost as easy as Lego. Sometimes need a hot water bit or a lil' knife work, but not much. Some of the resin and hard plastic sprue stuff gets gnarly. I have Kingdom Death and Malifaux figures where the *face* is separate from the rest of the head, and the head is separate from the body! A friend had a Malifaux housecat (to scale with true 28mm humans) come in 4 parts for some reason. I get separating figures into pieces for the sake of a better cast, but some of them are really strangely designed and I can't see the benefit. Some? Clear reason for it regarding the sculpt. Not all. Some of the Dark Sword figures are a little difficult to assemble, but the pieces are pretty obvious as to why it was necessary for the sculpt. I am more annoyed with Reaper when they have separate parts and get the factory to pre-assemble them; they don't do it well, and often the parts are better separate until after painting is done due to brush access. Worst offender was the Bed Mimic in Bones IV - even getting an airbrush blast under that thing would be miserable and there is no good way to yank it off the base. It was a fine base. Just don't pre-glue!! 4

Just don't pre-glue!! I'm not necessarily annoyed with Reaper for having them do it, but I'm definitely in the 'leave 'em all disassembled, and let me do it myself' camp due to the part I bolded. I'd much rather put them together myself than have to fight trying to get a badly glued figure apart so I can try to correct the situation. I'm bound to do a better job of assembly than somebody who has to assemble 18,000 copies of a few hundred figures on a schedule. 5
Kangaroorex
On this agenda Reaper cant win. about the only hope they have is offering an assembly service for a signficant charge and putting the people who want assembled at the end. Even then, someone would complain... I like what I have seen so far from my box but (and I know this discussion has been going on between the 'they are too big' and the 'why arent they bigger' groups) I was really hoping that the bones dragons would be the same size as the initial test prints we saw in reapercon 2019. I know they wouldnt be as useful, but they would be so much more impressive! I have many dragons of the huge size. i have very very few gargantuan dragons was definitely hoping they were going to be Marthrangul size and bigger. They are fine dragons and i am completely happy with them but i hope in the next kickstarter we see some truly awe inspiring pieces. anyway, enough said. the pieces all came out great!

Granted, I haven't painted most of my stash but.... a bad pre-glue effectively means there is no way I'll even consider painting it. 2
ksbsnowowl
Got my Wave 3 shipping notices today (3 grey ships, items in the last container). I also won a water-damaged Bones 5 Core Set on Reaper Live tonight. It’s been a pretty good day for once.

Sadly, there will always be at least 1 person that does..... Funny thing is I'd rather see Marth at it's original size instead of Kaladrax, but alas that was a factory mix-up.
Cyradis
Heh. The Friday delivery estimate has been updated to a Monday delivery estimate. Can't say I am too surprised, considering it is coming cross-border. Just don't delay again to Wednesday!! I need Wednesday for massage and work meeting!! I think I'm looking forward to that massage as much as the box of Bones tbh. I've gotten my muscles in more knots than a woven friendship bracelet during the plague.
