Reaper Bones 5: Enthusiasm and Commentary thread

According to the latest Kickstarter update, the "UK team is on Wave 4 and is over 50% complete."

Some other backers and myself were justifiably confused, as the UK team was "nearing 50%" on August 16th. It's unclear how much of a difference that meant. Is that a jump from 40% to 60% in the past month? Or has it slowly crept from 48% to 52%?

Yesterday, Reaper responded to a few comments:

UK is still shipping. The manager was here in the US for 10 days during ReaperCon. They shipped during that time and will focus on shipping now that he has returned.

I spoke with UK today. They will be picking up the pace to get this done ASAP.

As I stated earlier, not here to make excuses. You are correct. While he was here things slowed down. I spoke with him this morning. They are making some changes and you should see a ramp-up by the end of this week.

A vague promise that things will pick up. I have no idea how big the team is and how much they've slowed down. Constant reassurance that they're working their hardest only means so much. With this new info, I'm not so sure how accurate that estimate of "100 orders a day" earlier in this thread was.

I now understand not really communicating transparently at all if your information is going to be this incomplete or fabricated.

Thanks guys.

Maybe I misread that then.

Anyway still waiting.

I know for sure this is my last physical KS I'll back no matter the manufacturer.

The 3D files ones are more to my liking, direct delivery and easy storage, no extra unexpected costs.

For what it's worth, they've also not been clear on whether these percentages are picking the orders or shipping the orders. (ReaperRooms Facebook post on August 6th said '95% done with wave 1' and then later clarified 95 done picking Wave 1.)

On July 15th, two months ago, their FB page said "We have started shipping from the UK warehouse! In the coming days ahead we will be working through 2694(!!) orders." - once again unsure if that's their total amount of orders; or if it's just the UK orders, or if they meant that's just what they were planning to get through "in the coming days"...? Could mean anything now.

That's the only estimate I've seen this whole time: mentioning days, and mentioning "ramping up next week". The rest has just been "as quickly as possible". The wait just feels very long.

My order has just received shipping! Wave 4, quite a large order, EU.

Quite happy on this, now to see how much the fees are going to be.

For the communication, I think they were trying to bring positive news so went on the higher numbers to report (nearing 50%! could have been 39% for example, now they're "over 50%" many weeks later which seems weird).

edit: it's 2 boxes! no ships ordered. Being dlivered through parcelforce

One of my boxes was delivered (in the Netherlands) on the 2nd of September, after arriving at customs on the 20th of August. The other package (the ship) is still at customs according to the tracking :(

PostNL shows nothing when I enter the tracking code, their customer service can't help me either. I'm a bit worried that this is because the complete cost was declared on one box, meaning the other box has no associated cost. I paid VAT on the whole amount of my order when I received the main box.

Does the 17track website show you more information?

I believe customs can't hold anything over 30 days btw, if they don't reach a verdict then they are obliged to send it your way.

That's really good to know, thanks! I'll keep you updated

Is that Dragon anticipated to be in the Kickstarter? What does the lighthouse signify? More Brinewind? Dreadmere?

Yes, that is the implication with the dragon. The lighthouse is just messing with the twitch commenters (they have been pushing some ludicrous request for Bones 6, of a model of a whale with a lighthouse on its head.)

Another “large collection of miniatures” kickstarters, reminiscent of the recent Blacklist Games Fantasy kickstarters.

I am tempted, even though it covers a lot of things we already have.

Pixies, Wyrms, Demonicity – Three Mini Role-Playing Games

Three ready-for-adventure mini-game boxed sets for your RPG game night, featuring the Tri-Stat System used in BESM Fourth Edition RPG.

If you're looking for role-playing games that are concise enough to crack open and start playing right away, yet sufficiently robust and evocative to support longer campaign play as well, you've come to the right place.

Welcome to the Kickstarter for the first three Tri-Stat System Mini-Game Boxed Sets – a new line of compact and complete role-playing adventure games that are compatible with Dyskami Publishing's flagship BESM Fourth Edition anime and manga RPG. Tri-Stat System creator Mark MacKinnon has distilled and customised the complete system into distinct streamlined versions for each of the three adventure games – targeting their specific genres and background settings in easy-to-understand boxed sets.

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – it's time for your next great role-playing adventure!

Pixies, Wyrms, and Demonicity – These boxed set RPGs are games of adventure, exploration, battle, heroism, romance, and imagination. Yet unlike in a traditional board game, the possibilities for exploration and action in these role-playing game are endless.

Each of the three role-playing adventure games contains the following components:

a 32-page full-colour rulebook that gives your group everything you need to play, with sections on character abilities, magical spells/paranormal powers, weapons and equipment, enemy encounters, items and equipment, and guidelines for integrating the Tri-Stat System game with the compatible BESM Fourth Edition RPG
6 brief story scenarios so you can start playing adventures right away
6 pre-generated player character sheet handouts, with game stats and illustration
4 custom-etched dice specific to that boxed set

You can pledge for one, two, or all three of these boxed sets during the Kickstarter.

      ...

I know know nothing about these creators or the system, but I decided to back for Pixies entirely because of that picture of the corgi. 👀
