I managed to "finish" the last two bikes, so now they're all just awaiting a paint order, which should be here in the next few days. 20201107_233149.thumb.jpg.a86d9697fe852823d788c1cbf18d1fd2.jpg20201107_233136.thumb.jpg.c938e24c64e2e8a7a889849bb9bfe3f4.jpg

I also selected and based my next batch of Orks.20201107_233117.thumb.jpg.6faa5cd9c57eb43fd3415fc1f9dd1bfc.jpg

Searching around blindly for sunglasses so I can look at the awesome bikes!

It just kinda happened, my wife wanted to play Bad Moons but found their almost monochromatic yellow scheme too bland. So instead she wanted to augment the palette with blue, purple, and red; seeing as Orks have assigned different "powers" to those colors anyway it all worked out.

My paint order arrived today so I painted the bases and applied a wash to everything.20201109_223808.thumb.jpg.746c773863e26e84344b10f5353695d8.jpg20201109_223823.thumb.jpg.3282ee68dec44392fc3711ff7e6de40d.jpg

As you can see they're still pretty wet so that'll be all for tonight. With any luck I'll be able to finish painting these guys tomorrow.

Didn't get to them last night but the bikes are now finished, minus flock, they're even sealed.20201111_231316.thumb.jpg.6bd5b932926f8dca57f6b115d366dab3.jpg

I'd say tomorrow you'll be able to see them in their "display" pictures. Does that actually sound better than "good" pictures?

With that out of the way you'd think I would start working on the squad with big shootas, but I didn't. Instead I started working on my sneaky orks because I just couldn't resist any longer. I guess letting them sit on my desk all this time was a bad idea.

So far I've just base coated their skin but I believe these guys are going to paint up quickly. Seeing as I'm planning on a very limited palette I think I'll be able to paint them in just a few nights, but we'll see.

You did a great job on the bikers!
Don’t know why but, I could almost see one of those orcs with a boom box on the back of his bike.

Thanks, love the boom box idea I'll have to keep that in mind if I build more. My local bits bins will be the determining factor in building any more however. Even these bikes were only added to the army because they had an incomplete kit of Space Marine bikers that was very cheap.

The bikers look great!

One minor nitpicking note...paint the rims of the bases, it's distracting!

My plan is to paint the rims, but as I want to paint them with Reaper's Earth Brown (the same color as the basecoat of the dirt) I've decided to wait until the end. I figure it's better to get figures and their bases finished and come back later to hit the rims just incase I run out mid project. With winter officially here I won't be able to reorder any paints without the risk of them freezing, so I decided to leave the rims for the end. This may sound odd but I think this last touch will act as a good end cap for this project too while also giving me something simple as a palette cleanser before tackling my next project.

The Orks dressed as a tank made me LOL. Keep up the great work.

If you're enjoying the tank Orks then this update will be right up your alley as they're nearly finished.

My sole intention tonight was to paint the leather and maybe finalize a few of the pop colors. Once I got started though I just kept painting. I guess that little painting break really helped. Before I knew it I had finished the leathers, the pop colors, the dirt, and even the metallics on the figures themselves. Seeing as my bottle of Honed Steel, my very first bottle of this color I might add, was nearly empty I decided to push on and see if there was enough to finish the tank itself. Turns out there wasn't quite enough for a perfect coat, but there was more than enough for an Ork's paintjob.20201120_004614.thumb.jpg.79ff5f56e401624f3d3ab07e4af4f3e4.jpg20201120_004628.thumb.jpg.b22536904ab35f2b036ef82f01d2be06.jpg20201120_004713.thumb.jpg.439362f55bdd696711a8c66708ee46de.jpg20201120_004728.thumb.jpg.97ef3cfdd084009caa49b63dc7035894.jpg20201120_004643.thumb.jpg.6e4563801533cbc83e9ccc18b417ee7c.jpg20201120_004653.thumb.jpg.26827f8fe9181a153410ed71a39201c7.jpg

I figure with a bit of added character and a lot of wash the tank will look very good. Well at least "good" in the sense I'm looking for in a group of Orks attempting to be sneaky.
