I would be leery of FFG after their "revamping" of XWing. Their making everything obsolete to make existing players have to buy updates is not a good sign. Be prepared for them to pull something silly if you go with them. I truly hope I'm wrong as their stuff is really nice.

Anybody wanna buy my Gen 1 XWing stuff?

As long as you're playing with friends and family continue with the 1e rules and let the update rot in the box.  We don't play often but that's what we do.  Never upgraded, never will.  (Though I did enjoy getting a serious boost to my collection at 75% off!)

Feh... D6 System, D20 System. They all get it wrong.

They even tell you in the movie 'Use D4s, Luke!' :zombie:

The Auld Grump -- seriously, there was a lot of good material for the D6 version - so much so that it was used by Disney when making the new movies. (I swear to Gogamagog, Rogue 1 felt so very much like an RPG....)

*EDIT* Never ran it - any edition. But I did play the Miniatures game, which was a lot of fun.

The d6 system works great until the Hedi get a few levels... it falls apart when the players start a jedi baseball league using starships for bats and asteroids for balls.  There is a serious escalation problem there!  But if you play with non-jedi the system is great

Disney was not the first to use the D6 Star Wars RPG. Lucasfilm used them while creating the prequels and Clone Wars.

The D6 books were the source of allot of the species, planet, and weapon names.

Pablo Hidalgo was a writer for the D6 stuff and is currently a part of the Lucasfilm Story group.  Which is why things like the Rogue One,  Rebels, and the Mandalorian feel so much like the D6 stuff.

That explains a lot.  The prequels must have been made using my groups shadowrun team....
