I hope it is miniature less. Chibi and Marvel will be my downfall. Trying to swear off CMON due to their other projects and the stupidly expensive shipping.

Your hopes are in vain, sir.

I found a preview vid that had some renders in it for the announced characters.  I'm not sure if it will be enough to get me to pull the trigger on a CMON project or not, but they've certainly got my attention.

The shipping really has gotten out of hand with CMON. We'll have to see how this turns out...

Shipping has been subsidized for so long that the real costs have been hidden (particularly for Americans).

I was so excited for this until I saw chibi which makes it a hard pass.

yes people are now seeing what shipping actually costs (which keeps rising fast too)

I do like chibis but i'm not interested as the proportions on these are just not to my taste (thankfully)

Yeah- I shipped something in the latest box I got from CMON.  The stuff I was shipping was lighter, and I was shipping domestic, but it still cost $60.

I get the impression that CMON are the only ones charging actual shipping costs right now.

This is now live.

They've unlocked the first few models, and CMON are definitely taking some direction from the MCU: Blade, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Taskmaster, etc.

The base pledge is $60, the Infinity Stone expansion is $30.

want to, but I'm sensing a lot of add-ons.  That, and what's left of my common sense/restraint, may keep me out.  I still think it will be fun to watch, though.

For some reason, I can't add a new post, but I can edit this one...

Lots of KS Exclusive items.  That seals the deal for me...I loathe exclusives.  I don't mind promotional materials, special packaging, etc. but game play exclusives really rub me the wrong way.

Good thing they have minis because the gameplay looks fairly uninteresting.

So many KS exclusives it hurts.  It is clear how they want to drag you in on this.  Seven heroes (so far) you can only get if you pledge? Lordy, CMON.

Yeah, not big on the chibi's, either. Random guess is that WizKids has the rights for the 28mm sculpts.

Also, with the short-term economic impact of the coronavirus on China, most small and medium companies having cash reserves for up to two months, factories only being opened for essential items (definitely not plastic miniatures), and CMON itself located in Shanghai, one of the countries hit hard by the virus, I'm jumping off the fence. Maybe by the time the PM opens, everything will be fine, at least until it's not. Also not helping is that some miniatures I like are in the expansion sets, so I'd pay $25 for five miniatures, of which only one I want.

Well, at least today you have more choice in your Marvel game of choice. Back in ye olden days, a company would have exclusive rights for a boardgame, and, more often than not, the game wasn't worth playing. Now, you have, what five Marvel games to choose from? FFG's Marvel card game, SJG's Munchkin Marvel, HeroClix, that nonstandard scale miniatures game, and now Marvel Chibi.

Oh, man. I really wasn't sure what to expect with later add-ons, but now there's an Into the Spider-Verse add-on with Spider-Gwen in it. I'm going to have to buy that, for sure. Dang it...

"I have great admiration for the Norse mythology, and I find the style behind this culture fascinating. So, I decided that my third Kickstarter project should be related to this style that I admire so much. On this opportunity, I will present some characters to you that I hold very dear. These Norse Goddesses are among my most recent personal creation, and I hope you like them as much as I do."

Monster Terrain (Monster Fight Club) has fir/pine trees now available, as well as an unpainted and STL option.  The trees look good!

I have their trees from last year and they are second best to Dwarven Forge in terms of quality for plastic trees.

Return to Planet Apocalypse, via @Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petersengames/return-to-planet-apocalypse?ref=android_project_share
Yes, Petersen Games is doing a Kickstarter Exclusive again! Just this once! Planet Apocalypse was designed by Sandy Petersen, one of the best-known designers in horror gaming. In the early eighties he wrote the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game for Chaosium. In the nineties, he was a key designer for the ground-breaking video games Doom, Doom 2, and Quake. And in 2015, he released Cthulhu Wars. Now he returns to the topic of apocalyptic horror with a game Shut Up and Sit Down described as "[having] cemented Sandy Petersen as the king of games where you roll dice and things die."
This Kickstarter offers two separate tabletop experiences:
The board game (core game reprint) with new expansions.
A 325+ role-playing book for 5th edition D&D with TONS of content to bring the apocalypse to your fantasy world, plus new adventures, monsters and more.
