CMON and Spinmaster Games - Marvel United

Recommended Posts

The game mechanics look simple- which would normally seem like a worse thing, except that Eric Lang tends to do streamlined games really well.

There has got to be something going on with the X-Men rights.  There is no way they passed on a Chibi Deadpool on purpose.

For clarity, Phase 1 shipping is for the Core set only.  Phase 2 is for all expansions/extras that were included with the Kickstarter.  This was to account for the fact that Spinmaster Games was to release the core set to retail in August (I'm assuming this will be pushed given the delays).  Phase 2 delivery is not expected until sometime in 2021.

A small STL KS for 10 CA$. The first stretch goal has already been unlocked. It's a bit over the place (cheesecake, dwarves, grungs), but the models look nice and the price is good.

I've been painting up a lot of Starcadia Quest.

It only seems fitting to start out with the Star Wars characters. For most of my Starcadia Quest, I went with a Borderlands style- with lots of black lining against bright colors and even black hard edging to create that Borderlandish look. I plan to convert a few Starcadians into Borderlands characters as well.
Also, it just seemed right to start out with the Star Wars inspired characters.

150 miniatures and counting! $109 base pledge.
By the Sadler Brothers (Descent, Gears of War, Mansions of Madness). "Roll to resolve" dice mechanic with some HeroQuest nostalgia. Playthrough videos explain the rules well.

"Using the Modular Deck System (MDS), introduced in Street Masters and Brook City, the game features incredibly modular gameplay using several different types of decks. Hero decks, threat decks, villain decks, and quest decks can all be mixed and matched along with altar cards, feature cards, and other game elements to create countless combinations of unique adventures. With an engaging one-off experience and narrative campaign play, Altar Quest offers players endless adventure in a unique fantasy setting with years of support planned for the game.

Miniatures are unpainted, but here's a painted pic by one of the designers and painter...
