New eye technique

Recommended Posts

I picked up the white marker today, and it has proved to be a revelation.  This test model took me two hassle-free minutes.  What used to be the most stressful part of the hobby is now the fastest and easiest one.

This model has been sitting unfinished with black eye sockets for almost two years.  That dnd campaign died, alas.  Fortunately, it meant I had a good test subject for my new white marker!

Steps taken to do up these eyes:

1) White marker for the sclera

2) Blue marker for iris

3) Black marker for pupil, could've stopped here.

4) Get ambitious and touch a bit of white into the interior of the iris.

5) Re-up the black for the pupil.

Nice -- do you suggest a white brush-tip marker?

I recognize the red and blue pens from a Prismacolor brush-tip set? IIRC, It was inexpensive, and the tips come in handy every once in awhile when painting!

They're all tagged with a big old B, which I assume means brush-tip.  They come to a nice fine tip, and cost about $4 CAD at Michael's :-)
