Before I go any further, I want to create the feet as sub tools.  I am going to start out creating a rather generic draconic foot/hand and then adjust it for each drake.

Here is the mannequin for this that I created based on the Z-Brush human hand mannequin:

I then sculpted this into the following:

This is the left front foot.  I will adjust this for the rear foot by removing a digit.  Then I can mirror these for the right side.  Posing will happen when the rest is posed.

At this point I am aiming for 1" bases, since D&D 5e lists them as medium.

1" bases sound about right, if I remember right from Rise of Tiamat they were about the size of a large dog?

A large dog size would be perfect for a couple of the "someday" projects I've got in mind.
- a "dog" sled racing game on an Hoth like planet using alien "dogs", loosely based on the FASA Circus Imperium rules.
- a Space Marine Chapter modeled on the Space Wolves, but using all Dragon stuff instead of Wolf Stuff.

I do believe one of our own, made a Not-Nothic out of a Reaper ghoul.

@Loim Was that you that did this one?

Good guess, but it was:

Or

( And everyone thank @Pingo for the link to Buckyball’s work. One of Pingo’s posts is where I found the 2nd link. )

Rear foot (will need anatomical restructuring of the back part when I fit it to the model, but it is a start):

Last night, I started on the scales of the Blue Drake.  They are fairly rough here and will need considerable refinement after posing and increasing the resolution.

Very nice! I'm actually making scales right now....did you go with sculpting them individually, a nanomesh, an alpha, surface noise, or....?

Individually. I’m approaching them in exactly the same way I would in putty. I think it gives a more natural result.

I’m primarily using the Dam Standard and Move brushes, with a bit of HPolish.

I think this is how Andrea does it too and his scales come out really nicely. When I did Shadowthorn (the little kid dragon) I think I used mostly orb crack and polish (because I didn't know about hPolish at the time haha)
