Heroforge - interesting creature builds

Recommended Posts

Colors are live for all so I've been wasting my time on that.

Of note is my attempt to replicate the "Balor" equivalent in Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea.

When (rarely) in their true forms, each class VI greater dæmon stands 12 feet tall, with a wrinkled black hide, 18- to 20-foot bat wings, and a terrible visage: caprine ears, a lion’s black mane, a wolf ’s fangs, and dead white eyes under a ridged brow. Class VI greater dæmons each usually wield an Evil-aligned +3 long sword, battle axe, or war hammer, which may have other properties. In its other hand, the dæmon carries a barbed, nine-tailed whip.

(the art from the book: https://www.deviantart.com/ianbaggley/art/Demon-Type-VI-417203429 )

A lot more interesting than yet another horny red demon. With visual cues obviously borrowed from Ralph Bakshi's version.

Tnod - Orc thief

Kheeta - Khenra barbarian, unaware wielder of an evil black blade

As well as a memorial to fallen and lost heroes:
Lissaf - Birdfolk druid, turned to stone when she flew right into a basilisk's gaze

Gentle Breath - catfolk scout, made a wish to an Efreeti to be left alone without troubles

Duntan - Dwarven runeknight, drew the Donjon card from the Deck of Many Things

Tepeskitoma - Lizardfolk sorcerer, got his skull bashed in by some terracotta warriors when the whole party decided to take them on depite repeat warnings of how deadly an endeavor it would be.

(three of these adventurers are from the same player)

Few more fun bits:

Geryon - who still lacks an official D&D mini.

A demon in human guise:

image.thumb.png.a40bde3bf62f1ee563e2de61a87d5bcc.png

Oddly enough named after a blunt object.

image.thumb.png.cb026be92a460949041a3d676c3b916e.png

The biggest loser on planet Ferror.

The greatest barbarian hero to be found on old puffy stickers (and also scented erasers).

EDIT:
One last for the road:

"Such confidence, gentlemen, is warming to the heart."

I'm surprised nobody else is posting more builds considering the colors are live.

Ah well... have some more monstrous encounters.

For all you pulp fantasy lovers:

And a little twist on the usual blood-drinkers:

I've been busy "Ted Turner"-ing my prior creations.  I thought that the colors would inspire me to create more, but they haven't really.  Not yet, anyway.

I also have trouble believing that they haven't gotten around to some basic fantasy/horror/sci-fi staples yet.  We're sorely missing riding boars, old-time hockey masks, etc.

I feel you.

The only new pieces I've posted have been the Serpentfolk, Ghoul and Elric. (I am working on a pre-Ovid Gorgon but waiting for snake hair to be added)

Everything else is just colors applied to old saved builds.

And yeah, the creator's better than others out there (3dDesktopHero and Eldritch Forge have even fewer options) but there's still a lot of essentials missing. There's STILL only a chainmail t-shirt and no other chainmail option, for starters.

Been playing around with both the new magic flames and the colors.

This is actually a redo of one of my previous characters. The stance on the rock was just too cool to pass up.

I don't really know why - but I was wicked annoyed when I discovered that you can't really do a fat character. ::(:

I had this idea for a character in a supers game... part of his disguise is a fat belly - on his super persona, not his mild mannered one. (Those tights don't have pockets, that belly gave him a place to put stuff.)

The Auld Grump - plus, I want to do a Pratchett style wizard.

Yah, I wanna do a fat goblin & really only his top half gets fatter but nothing that says, "hey look at chumba wumba goblin with the turkey leg!!" look. Considering he's only wearing boxer shorts, yah a bit of a let down. Hopefully they'll re-visit body types in the near future.

I've been playing with the coloring tools the last couple days. Pretty much coloring my files that I've previously have done up. I did make a couple new characters today, more or less the "hero" figures for the 5e goblin game I wanted to run at RCon or my FLGS anv weekend. Seeing the goblins in color now, makes me want to play the game even more!! ha ha

I will say, coloring the files is almost as bad as paint a miniature!!!

So you all may remember the combat trooper and the trooper commander I posted pictures of a while back, well that concept has spawned a whole squad now.
Crusader Squad.

Monova “think you got something big enough to blow that reactor?”

Bombedier “Hehehehehe. What do you think Monova?”

”Just don’t blow us up with it.”
The Crusaders demo expert Bombedier consideration  himself a fine connoisseur of explosives. While his teammates often question his sanity they do not doubt his intelligence due to his record of making explosives up on the fly when the mission required it. Despite his frequent complaining when they must do things quietly he is a valued, if noisy, member of the team.

Monova “get that door open!”

Bombadier “Oh Boy, Oh Boy!”

Shadow “ Done”

Bombadier “Oh come on already?!? I didn’t even have time to get my charges out!”

Almost the polar opposite of Bombedier Shadow prefers precision and stealth to explosives and mayhem. It is not uncommon to hear him mumbling under his breath about the unnecessary racket that Bombedier makes.

Due to his skill with electronics he is often tasked with hacking computers and data crunching.  And no facility is safe from him as he is as skilled with infiltration as he is with computers.

Surge “Good grief! I didn’t know they made combat armor that big!”

Longshot “ They had to for Thunderhead.”

The  Crusaders Heavy weapons specialist Thunderhead is well suited to the roll. Standing an imposing seven feet tall he makes light even the heaviest of weapons. He is often considered the bedrock of the team due to his seemingly unmovable nature and more importantly, his outstanding courage under fire. More than once he has pulled wounded teammates out of harms way under unrelenting opposition.

Thunderhead “let me get this straight. Your going to shoot between two windows in a building and hit a moving target on the other side of the building at a distance of a mile? How in the Sam Hill are you going to do that?

............BOOOOM!........

Longshot “ Just like that.”

One of the best snipers in the entire P.L.F. Longshot has served in Crusader squad for several years and is a veteran of many battles. After the Liberation of Cardia he became the leader of Crusader squad until he was transferred to train new snipers. After a year doing that he managed to get himself transfered back to Crusader which was now under the command of Max Monova. With his extensive experience he often serves as an unoffial sounding board for Monova.

Monova “Sorry about this, Seems like your always having to patch me back up.”

Surge “That’s what brothers are for.”

The brother of Max Monova, Harrison Surge Monova served with him in the Cardia resistance until the planets liberation, at which point the two brothers joined the P.L.F. in hopes of become members of the squad that helped liberate their home. In spite of regulations normally forbidding family from serving in the same unit the two brothers where assigned to Crusader. It was his roll as squad medic that eventually led to his nickname Surge.

Longshot “You want us to do what? Are you Mad?!?!?”

Monova “You heard me”

Commander of Crusader Squad Max Monova has been through the fire. Prior to Joining the P.L.F. He served in the Resistance on the planet Cardia. Eventually he became the defacto leader of the resistance after most of the leadership was killed in Operation Snake’s Head. In spite of the loss of his right arm in the battle he was able to hold the resistance together until the arrival of Crusader squad. Working together they were able to pave the way  for the planets liberation. Inspired by the sacrifices of Crusader Max and Harrison joined the P.L.F. with the goal of joining the squad. Due to their experience in the resistance and their teamwork both together and withe Crusader they were eventually assign to the squad. Max worked his way through the team eventually becoming the squad’s leader eventually earning himself the nickname Mad Monova because of his off the wall strategies.

Multiple arms?  Yes, please!

InsectMenTriptych.jpg.e86e8f3a378bbca9cbb49eee16782696.jpg

The red "wizard" is using some of the new hand positions to grasp the kukri on his side!  It looks pretty decent, too.  The new "primal" katar are spiffy, too.
