haldir
Hey guys seems this camera is dropping in price due to the 2nd version is out, just curious if anyone has heard anything on this one?? Read a review (thou didn't say if it was bad or good thou!!) that it has a super macro mode that allows you to get in really really close. But I was curious if anyone else has heard or even used the thing. thanks Randy M
Durak
Over at http://www.cnet.com/ most of the minolta's listed were rated with "noisy pictures" which I took to be pixels where you don't want them to be. Maybe someone more versed in the lingo can help you here,
The Shine
Do you mean the Dimage A1 ? I've found nothing on just "Dimage 1"
haldir
sorry about it's the Dimage Z1 model, there is a Z2 but really all that is a 4 mp vs the 3.2 & about a 100 or so bucks difference. just went to the minolta dimage site & found out there are acc for it as well, like ext flash, lens etc etc) I ask cause in town I can get it for 349 dollars. Would rather buy in town then mail order. Also the super macro mode is what got me lookin deep into it (with that I can get in as close a 1.6 inches from my subject, handy for the hobby) + the quality of the name also. Durak
Here's what cnet rated it as Description: The Konica Minolta Dimage Z1 is a 3.2-megapixel, prosumer digital camera. Compared to other prosumer cameras on the market, it is very inexpensive at around $315. Includes ArcSoft VideoImpression software. This camera stores pictures on SD media. Pros: Has a 10x optical zoom, which is considerably more powerful than some similarly priced cameras. By way of comparison, the average cost of a product with this high an optical zoom is $485. This camera also offers control over numerous exposure modes including aperture-priority, shutter-priority, program, and manual mode. Cons: The 38mm minimum focal length of this camera will make wide-angle photography difficult. Suitability: A prosumer camera, suited for semi-professional photography. The 380mm maximum focal length of this camera makes it ideal for shooting wildlife, candid portraits, and other long-distance photography. This camera has a hot shoe terminal which allows you attach an external flash to accomodate poor lighting conditions. A recommended use, based on key features, is printed snapshots. The largest recommend print size, estimated from the camera's resolution, is 5x7. Value: Overall, this camera's features are as expected for this price. Suggestions: (1) You might want to consider a SD reader to make PC downloads easier. (2) You probably want to get at least a 128 MB SD memory card to go along with this camera, because it will let you store around 120 pictures. (3) For more help in deciding if this is the right digital camera for you, visit the buying guide for digital cameras at CNET Reviews. imaging resources has this to say - http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/Z1/Z1A.HTM and some picture tests over at DCRP reviews http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/minolta/...iew/index.shtml Judging from their macro tests it looks very good!
