Pizza Dungeon Dice

Recommended Posts

I recently got a few packs of the new Pizza Dungeon Dice. I have my own opinions but i would like to know what everyone thinks of them?

I understand that these are basically beta test Dice and not indicative of the Quality of the dice once they are for sale.

The two packs I got roll well no noticeable bias in their random number generation after one game of 5e, I will be doing a one hundred roll average test to see how they do. The paint in the numbers is iffy though, but we are all miniature painters here so fixing that will be easy.

I will definitely be playing these dice for a long time, and really want to see what the pricing will be. I like the plastic cases the dice come in and I will reuse them for something. Though I kinda think a mini cardboard pizza box would be amazing, but that would probably be to expensive to have made

Can't speak for everyone but I would definitely be down for a set of more expensive Supreme Pizza Dungeon Metal Dice and packs of single types of dice, like a pack of 7d4 for my wizard.

What was the SKU on the dice?

I'll double check but I don't remember it having a SKU on the Box just a bar code.

I checked and there is no SKU on the box just a bar code. hopefully we get more information on  https://www.reapermini.com/dice

The dice sets that were part of the Swag at ReaperCon last year came in a miniature pizza box with a blow molded plastic insert that gave each die its own little cradle.

I like the idea of the stackable boxes for keeping things nice and tidy.

Can I ask how did you get them? Really want to get me some, and am a bit bewildered by the lack of communications on these.

From what I recall on a past ReaperLive show, it was the cardboard store displayers that were the hold up.

I believe Reaper was big into wanting the dice sets to be available at retailers the same time as online.

That's fair.  Thanks for sharing, I'll just patiently wait here a little longer ^_^

I got a set with a recent order, and while they seem to be perfectly cromulent dice, I was slightly disappointed that they didn't come in differentiated colors like on the Kickstarter picture. If they had had differentiated colors, and those colors had been consistent from set to set, I would have bought like ten sets. It would have been great for quickly finding a bunch of appropriate dice for various spells and other effects in D&D and variants. Hunting through your various dice sets to find 8d8 for a Cone of Cold can take a while, and the next round you need 5d12 because someone else is upcasting an Erupting Earth or something. But if I know I need 8 of the blue ones, and 5 of the green ones, that's much quicker.

I assume they have gone the traditional route with single-colored sets because of how the molding process works (I guess the whole set is made as one sprue, which would require it to be the same color, and that making one d8 sprue and one d12 sprue and so on would be more trouble than it's worth), but I still wish it were otherwise.

The freebie dice sets and the Kickstarter dice sets are not the same sets.

You might want to look up "Dice of Rolling". I got a set a couple years ago and it's a lot closer to what you're describing. They're my go to set for the exact reason you pointed out. Only 2 d12 though.

5x   d4 (Purple)

10x d6 (Red)

5x   d8 (Black)

5x   d10 (Emerald)

2x   d12 (White)

2x   d20 (Blue)

2x   d100 (Gold d10 and d00-90)

You can also build a custom set from Gamescience. Their site isn't exactly user friendly though. Plus you either have to paint in the numbers yourself, or you can pay a fee to have them do it for you. They've been around forever. The first dice I ever bought were Gamescience when I was about 13yo way back in the 80s. I ordered a couple sets from them (with extras) a few years back as gifts. They were lovely and as pointy as ever.

i'm not sure on the value cut off on orders is for the. I had placed a few orders of over $100 USD and got one set with each order, one black set and one Blue.

I ordered a set and the dice look nice.  I'm planning to playtest them Friday night.

My only complaint is the stickers weren't really attached very well. The top one was off-center and the bottom one wasn't really stuck in place.  I ended up taking them both off.

I like the container and the mini though.

Added a set of dice to an order of minis and paint, because I love dice.  Enjoy the color, green and the container.  I have only played Call of Cthulhu with them so I can verify that there were no problems with the d10 and persentile rolling.
