Secret Weapon Miniatures Pre Painted Bases Kickstarter Relaunch

Recommended Posts

A message from Secret Weapon:

Big news time everyone!

As many of our pledgers know, we need to adjust the Kickstarter - On the positive, we have a good amount of backers and we know that MANY of you are waiting to up your pledges. We have had a really positive response to the product itself, and lots of interest on the customer and retail side. We deeply appreciate this and your support.

BUT - we have a good amount of backers who are opting to wait on their $1 pledge. This is entirely our fault. We caused this when we locked our core offering behind stretch goals. There is no single item that is core. ALL the options are core. We made it so that many of you had to wait around to buy what you already knew they wanted.

That's a big boo boo, but it was made with the best of intentions. The system was set up so that there was no mandatory amount, and you added what you wanted and nothing more. We thought that this was better for the customer, but it quickly became obvious the vast majority of backers want jump-in points at set amounts like a usual KS... and weren't entirely sure about a pledge manager that was open during the campaign.

So, what are we going to do to fix this for you?
We are going to close the campaign, and relaunch it next week. That sucks and it's embarrassing. But ultimately everything else that happens is great for EVERYONE, because this is what happens next:

1.) ALL themes will be shown and unlocked right off the bat. If you want Urban Streets or Infinity, you just go get it, no hoops or delays to choosing what you want. You also know exactly what is on offer.

2.) There will be pledge levels: $50(+), $100(+) and $200(+). The 100 dollar + level will include a set of 3 weathering pigments (really really good ones too - Burning Sands, Dark Earth, and Rust Orange), and the 200 dollar + level will be the pigment set, and a set of 3 genuinely awesome paints. Secret Weapon's Rubber Highlight, Rubber and Tire Black, our most popular colors! At the end of the campaign you will use the Pledge Manager, as usual, to make whatever specific choices you want based on your KS pledge. The Pledge Manger will be available during the campaign for those that would like help figuring out a total pledge level, but that is optional, and you can wait until the end of the campaign to sign up.

3.) Each of the $50(+), $100(+) and $200(+) pledge levels will have 3 shipping zone options

Americas, Europe (NOT UK)
AU, NZ, Asia, Pacific
United Kingdom (NOT Europe)
4.) Any extra themes that are developed during the course of the KS will be added immediately, no stretch, we just give you the option as soon as it is available.

There will be 17 themes live at the time of launch, which doesn't count the licensed product from Corvus Belli and CMON Zombiecide.

Obvious question due to paints being included in things: when is expected fulfillment?  I have to ask, because paint and Canadian winters really do not mix well.

Additional question: for the $200 tier, is that a full pigment + fixer set, or just the pigments? ^_^

Canadian friendly shipping?

At the $200 pledge, you will receive the Tire Black Trio and the Burning Sands, Dark Earth, and Rust Orange pigments. No fixative. :) Fulfillment is expected January of 2021. Canadian orders will be shipping from the US, so you'll have to pay any duties or taxes that would normally apply.

Hope that helps!

Jess

I also wanted to address a question I had read before on the last thread regarding how much texture the bases already had. I took some time this weekend to play around and do some spot repainting, and full repainting. Hope this helps as well!

Will there be lower priced points of entry as well as the $50 minimum point spelled out there?

Hi Disciple of Sakura. $50 will be our lowest price point for this Kickstarter relaunch.

Glad to see it's live again.  How's support for 70mm round bases looking, due to the Silhouette 8 miniature Infinity has?  (Maghariba Guard)

I like all of them...If forced to pick one though, for what I would use them for, it would be the top right.

having said that, it looks like I probably won't be able to support this one, AUD crashing against the USD makes it harder to find the funds

Nice!

Maybe upper right. That's generic enough for western, but also modern day model homes (eg. a museum). Lower left might be better for western and Lovecraft? Upper left is too dark for me.

@ratsmitglied : Bases should hit retail (and the SWM online store), so hopefully that will work for you when the bases come out!

BTW, SWM is located in Sacramento, CA, which is under lockdown. Expect orders for current stock to be delayed. Staff on (temporary) layoff. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=secret weapon miniatures&epa=SEARCH_BOX

WhiteWulfe - We do not currently have plans to release a 70mm base.

That's a pity to hear, given one of the factions included in the Red Veil set uses said Silhouette 8 murderscorpion...  It would be nice to have a matching set.

How many unique designs for each?  More specifically, the 25mm bases, since some Infinity forces can have a decent amount of minis on the table even for a 300/6 game.

Will there be an option to add other Secret Weapon items in there, such as filling out the bonus pigments to the full range Secret Weapon offers?  Gotta ask because I suspect shipping even just a few sets of bases will wind up being rather expensive for international orders. (and for some reason, the full pigment set never came back on the Secret Weapon site, only a few combinations did)

Each design in a set will be unique, so a pack 10 25mm bases won't have duplicates. I don't know exactly how many designs for 25mm bases there are.

We have thought about add ons of other Secret Weapon products. What does everyone think? Pigments, paint sets? Your input is invaluable!

Pigments would be interesting to me, but given the planned January fulfilment I know I'd be avoiding paints.

How long will the pledge manager be open for after the Kickstarter?  Will one be able to add in additional funds by chance? ^_^

Paints in January, yeah, not a great idea in Maine, either.

Maybe a delayed delivery option for people with paints?

I like all the wood floors. Maybe favoring both on the right.

If I were to go in for anything, it's the wood patterns, they are a lot harder to paint than stones of any sort, at least if you want a decent grain.

      Story
Welcome to Nemesis Lockdown draft page! Campaign is not yet live (currently planned for May / June), but you can see here some of the first information and leave your feedback! There will be gradually more and more stuff we will be sharing here, so you can check it out from time to time, but most importantly - click "Notify me on Launch" if you don't want to miss the campaign!
Nemesis Lockdown is first standalone expansion to Board Game hit - Nemesis (BGG rating #35 overall, #9 thematic). Lockdown will bring the same cinematic, thematic Sci-Fi horror feel to totally new setting: Base on Mars. It will come with lot of new, fresh ideas and content while keeping some of the core Nemesis mechanics that makes every play an unforgettable story to be told.
      Nemesis: Lockdown
I should have known when they asked us to prepare the landing platform. There are only two reasons to make a night sample transfer. It’s either too urgent to wait, or it’s a black op. Both spell trouble.
My survival instinct, honed by twenty years of work in the Sample-Return Receiving Facilities, was screaming, considering the rumours that reached even our remote site.
Maybe if I bailed right there, I wouldn’t be crouching in a dark lab, sweaty palms clutching a scalpel, and this damned soft voice repeating over my head: “Containment Breach, Containment Breach…”
Things only got bleaker when they told us there would be human BSL-5-ET subjects coming. Extra-terrestrial samples and living people don’t usually mix. They SHOULD NEVER mix. Something went really bad out there, and we got caught in it.
When Martinsen and Sovich processed the first sample, I only caught a peek from behind the armored glass. There was one word on the container.
      “Nemesis.”
I wasn’t there when the actual breach happened. There were screams over the intercom. The main power went out. Soon, I saw Martinsen and one of the human subjects running to me from the isolation ward elevator, as if the devil himself chased them. I’ve seen it for a split second, before they were caught. I’d rather take my chances with the devil, than with the thing that took them.
Now, it’s been fifteen minutes since I last heard any shots. The pain in my mangled leg subsides. I get up and slowly make my way to one of the security stations. Am I the only one left? No, thank god! Sovich is still kicking. I have her on a live feed from the main terminal. She’s…
Changing the logs! Switching her name for mine. Frigging rat! When the board learns we had a containment breach, there will be hell to pay, and she wants to make sure the bill is on my name.
Now, she turns towards the main console. In the middle of it, under the protective glass, is the A3-5 button, a big chunk of red plastic. They told us it enables the “Code Red Emergency Protocol” but we had no clearance to know what the protocol actually is.
Don’t do it, Sovich. You might just nuke us. Don’t…
Of course she does. She wants to play the good girl, an upstanding citizen.
Well, there’s still time to fix everything. No one will call until morning. We’re on a dark side of the planet now, blocking all signals. I need to get topside, to the secondary console in the other building. Re-write the logs, access the classified procedures, and see what new trouble she got us into.
The only things between me and my salvation is a broken airlock, a long stretch of hellish surface, and enough gamma radiation to hard-boil an egg. I’m betting these things can’t walk outside.
That would be too frigging unfair...

      Hi All!
I happened to come across this project and instantly got sunk into the world of Obsidia.  I thought I would share it here with all the Reaper folks!
I'm sorry for bumping my own post a few times.  After backing this project, I learned that these are first time game creators and they were turned down by some high end famous reviewers at the very last minute due to the COVID situation... Which, in my opinion, is super lame!  I don't see how you cannot do a review unless you actually got the COVID!  I hope that this post gets Obsidia to more people which would bring many hours of fun and enjoyable play!

"A dark fantasy tabletop game with spell casting & area control.  The fate of the colony is at stakes; build your empire & rule the realm!"

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joshbeck/obsidia

      1-4 PLAYERS, 90 MINUTES
Players take turns exploring the dark realm of Obsidia by placing terrain tiles to create a dynamic and treacherous landscape. They'll send travelers from their home colonies out to found new towns, battling any enemy players or creatures in their path. Players will also cast spells unique to their colony class in order to gain the advantage. When all of Obsidia’s terrain has been discovered, the class controlling the most towns wins the game.

Stretch goal unlocked:  backers now get the sexy dice! :)

      Cheers!

      Story
Brothers Forged Campaign Supplies is a small business formed from the fellowship of an adventuring party. We have collectively been playing Dungeons & Dragons since the '80s. Now, with our diverse skill set, and months of building and testing prototypes we are prepared to create and launch this project.
      "Roll Initiative!"
Two of the most exciting words to hear (or speak) in an adventure. But tracking initiative can be a major distraction from the action unfolding. Brothers Forged have tried many methods to keep players immersed during this process. None to our satisfaction. Until now.
The world is untamed and wild regions abound. Monsters could be hiding around every corner, and sometimes they show themselves when you least expect it. And when they join combat in a later round, adding them to your initiative tracker can be a distraction from the gaming experience. When they are killed, removing them from the tracker is yet another interruption. Finally there is an easy way to add and remove creatures and enemies quickly and easily. With handcrafted wooden dry-erase compatible nameplates - that affix themselves to the tracker via the power of magnetism - it's incredibly easy to create space and shuffle the initiative order about while maintaining the immersion that makes Tabletop Role Playing Games (TTRPGs) so much fun.
Behold, the power of magnetism! (actual tracker not self-assembling) The Legendary Rod of Initiative has vastly improved our gaming experience and now we want it to improve yours as well!
How We're Going to Make It Happen
Like a wizard preparing spell components for conjuration in a later battle, we have been building, testing, and revising the Legendary Rod of Initiative, at last conjuring it into creation in its current incantation. We have searched the shops of many towns and villages to gather all of the components and sourced the raw materials needed to scale production in order to deliver the Legendary Rod to the gaming community at large. The forge has been ignited, and the Brothers are ready to begin production.
Right now, we need your help raising the gems, gold and silver coins needed to begin manufacturing. The funds raised by this campaign will be used to purchase the necessary components, keep the forge lit, manufacture, and ultimately deliver the Legendary Rod of Initiative across the realms!
      Pledge Rewards
An original PDF adventure created by Brothers Forged. Delve into the lair of a unique dragon that possesses the power of magnetism and attempt to recover the Legendary Rod of Initiative -  a powerful magickal artifact.
Includes maps, pre-generated characters, and the necessary information to GM and play the epic adventure. Based on 5e ruleset, recommended for 4-5 players, levels 5-10.
Take your quest to new heights and play your character with more confidence! Track your initiative with a custom nameplate laser etched with your character's name (or a monster, or NPC, or BBEG, or your favourite animal companion's name). Built with the same awesome magnetic force that makes your party's Legendary Rod of Initiative so magickal. Up to two lines of text, 10-12 character limit per line.
Actual nameplates will vary from those shown above.  A custom designed limited edition t-shirt featuring your choice from the evil dragon trifecta - red dragon, green dragon or blue dragon.
Close-up of dragon artwork. All shirts will be black in color, with various sizes available. If your pledge includes this reward let us know your size and dragon colour in the Backer Survey after the campaign.
Pledge for this reward tier and you'll get:
1 Limited Edition Dragon T-shirt (your choice of dragon colour - red, green or blue) Quest for the Rod of Initiative (PDF) The original Brothers Forged Hex Dragon Dice Chest, available in Rustic Maple (stained a dark brown), Natural Maple, or Red Oak. Each chest is crafted from domestically sourced hardwoods, emblazoned with the head of a furious dragon. We use a beautiful oil finish that feels great in your hands. Each chest's interior has enough room for a set of 7+ standard polyhedral dice and includes a special hexagonal enclosure to keep your precious d20s separate. Plus, each chest includes a bonus 20-sided die for free!
Examples of Hex Dice Chest finishes (dice shown, not included). Three different finishes available - your choice! Keep those dice safe; the dragon is on the outside guarding them for you!   Don't leave your dice's luck to chance, 6 strong magnets and innovative inset lip ensure each half is securely fastened shut to keep your dice, and your luck, as safe as can be. These will look awesome at your table during your next session.
Pledge for this reward tier and you'll get:
1 Hex Dragon Dice Chest (your choice of finish - Rustic Maple, Natural Maple, Red Oak) Bonus d20 die! Quest for the Rod of Initiative (PDF) You've waited your entire gaming life for this - an easy way to track initiative on the fly. Be ready for anything with the Legendary Rod of Initiative from Brothers Forged.
The Legendary Rod of Initiative in all its glory.

      Story
Hello and welcome to “Gothic Graveyard”. It's a collection consists of a series of stl printable files inherent to the medieval/gothic theme. All buildings, terrains, pieces, etc. Are designed for 28/32 mm tabletop games. The main objective is to make printing quick and easy to assemble, absence of supports, fun to paint and with the possibility to change the diorama whenever you want. The collection was designed for fdm printers, but nothing prevents resin printing.
The project was conceived and developed to be printed at home with your 3D printer following and having as main reference three simple rules:
      • the modularity
      • the speed of realization and assembly through the use of simple magnets and glue
      • the absence of supports for printing
        STL LIST
The models of the large mausoleum and the perimeter walls are perfected in two types, one constructive and one ruined to give you the freedom to alternate / use the ones you believe in best.
