I have 3 comments...

1. No need to hide pictures. This IS the Show-off section. We expect and want lots of pictures.

Paticularly of such fine paintjobs.

2. Where's the WIP thread?

3. Shouldn't those Amphorae be pottery, not metal? Not very important, really,

But yeah, awesome paintjob.

Thank you very much! I was trying not to be a spammer all of the sudden, so I decided to hide the rest of the pictures.
I don't have a WIP thread, this is literaly my first post here. I do have WIP posts on reapers fb page though.
And that was what I was thinking.. but to be honest clay pottery won't trigger my loot happy characters I guess ::D:

That is just wonderful. I can't decide whether my favourite bits are the green highlight scales to break up the tan or the non-metallic mother of pearl effect on the shell

Since it's arrival last month, I've been experimenting with my first 3D Printer.  Today marked the first finished painted projects that were made on it.

Several Giants, designed by Duncan "Shadow" Louca.

      The Gourdlock, by dutchmogul:

One of my favorite finds while randomly searching for STL files, the Dwarf Rock Star, also by dutchmogul.

Completing my Frostgrave Bestiaries is an eventual goal...here's a simple crab from Rocket Pig

Tortles seem to be the new hotness since their introduction in a charity event tied to "Tomb of Annihilation".  These guys are a mix from Fat Dragon and the wonderful DM Workshop

The last are a murder of Redcaps, again designed by DM Workshop.  I swapped out their weapons to give them some variety.

This is a Dragyri Warrior ( I believe) from Dark Age, he was sent to me by @malefactus a while ago to contribute to my Lost World Project.

      WIP: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=117

In my Lost World he is Drakh a mutant turtle warrior.
He has a pet Meso, a Raptor Hatchling from Bombshell Miniatures.
Base is made with a Greenstuffworld Roller Pin and some tuft/flock.

Here they are, the last pictures are with my Jungle Photobackdrop Board to show them in their natural habitat.
      Enjoy!

A client of mine has commissioned me to produce a new line of oriental-themed turtle people, based on box-turtles.  I'm pretty excited about this project as I love the subject as well as the challenges that it will present me.

We are going to take a modular approach to this, with me creating a fully sculpted shell with arm and leg armatures.  This I can then cast in bronze and use to make many different minis.  I am also planning on making several heads and casting them to be added to each sculpt.  A turtle head is pretty generic with little possible expression, so I should be able to make a few variations and reuse them.

I will also be sculpting and casting various oriental weapons, hats, and other accouterments to be added to the sculpts.  After all that, I will be making three sculpts to begin with, and we'll see where we take it from there.  If it all turns out, you'll likely be seeing all of this on the KS page at some point.

Here is the basic concept (this is very rough and I am not very good at drawing; the 3D sculpts will be a lot better):

Here is a close up of the basic armature concept:

Last night, I began the project by making the armature and underpinning the shell  Here is the top view:

      And the side view:

I will be basing the turtle parts on the Eastern Box-turtle:

And finally, as I was typing this, the bronze came:

Now, I am going to have to figure out how to cut that up into chunks that can fit my crucible.

      More to come soon.

I decided to get this and paint it for my Mom for Christmas. Arrived like this:

      Airbrush Primer:

Base coated dark green, realized tortoises don't have green shells so went over the shell with sequential layers of Ochre/Burnt Umber mix, followed by ochre several times. Drybrushed dark blue over the skin.

Washed the shell with burnt umber, washed just the crevices with a thin black wash.

Highlighted the shell with mid yellow, did some speckling of red green and blue on the head and neck.

AND then we run into problems, gotta do the eyes. So I do that...

And we got one ridiculous looking, Stoned of his gourd tortoise. Please help!

A while ago Malefactus send me some miniatures as a gift to contribute to my Lost World Project.
His friend Cpt. John saw it and decided to include this wonderful miniature.

      WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/

EUREKA Miniatures 28mm War Turtle ( the Little ones are smaller but they fit right in).
Thanks Malefactus and Cpt. John for this amazing gift!
I hope I did it proud.

I connected a few Tabletop Art Resin bases to create a bigger base for this monster.
He is as big as a young tortoise would be in real life!

I added a few resin pieces from Ristul's Market too, a centipede and a Saurus Skull, the other stuff was already sculpted on the base.
      Hope you like it.
