We're half way through the month. what's the best thing that's happened to you so far?

The best thing is that nothing seriously bad has happened.

I got a new mouse today, the clicky part on this one works. That's nice.

An old friend started speaking to me again!  We had parted under not the best of terms and went on with our lives.  Losing her friendship was one of the biggest regrets of my life.

But, to compensate, this month has been rough. Salary reduction, house siding needs repair, the top half of a pine tree came down on Sunday, and now our clothes dryer won’t heat.

Phrasing makes these sound related....?  But it seems doubtful the first caused the last.

Having moved to the new house, had the luck everything we ordered or needed to be installed was delivered/installed despite the virus.

Also, my girl agreed and I ordered a 3D Printer, it will probably be delivered today or saturday.

As @Thoramel says, sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference. So with that in mind, I saw my first butterfly of the year yesterday. A gorgeous Peacock Butterfly, freshly out of hibernation. It's offspring will be gracing the meadows and gardens in July and August. A promise of things to come and a better future.

what paint do you use up the fastest?

Black followed closely by white are the fast movers here; re, my base coat involves a thin black coat followed by a white dry brush. I do this base coat on everything I paint.

It's probably a tie between Vallejo Leather Brown (it's my go to colour for leather items, dirt on bases and is the basecoat for all my non-silver metallics) and Vallejo Iraqi Sand (I use it a lot in highlight mixes, light things in general and on bases).

If pre-made washes count though, my GW Agrax Earthshade is king. I give every mini a wash over their white primer undercoats to help bring out the details (plus actually shading things with it).

Reapers Pure Black 9037, I'm ever so slightly fond of doing high contrast dragons like this WIP big guy. It took almost a third of a pot of paint to basecoat him and I haven't even started on his wings yet.
